  1. I have bought this program multiple times over the years. I now, with multiple cancer bills, can nolonger afford it. I was shocked with the new pricing. I guess this is my swan song for PTE. Good luck and wishing you all the best.

  2. My World, a slideshow on slideshowclub.com,  is basically a climax to a show I was trying to post in the 3-5 minute category.  It is merely my feelings of what is going on in my country, My World, and how distressed I am.  The show really doesn't work without the intro, but I was sickened by so many things lately I wanted to scream.  Seeing the reviews I will be very careful before posting anything again.

  3. I guess we make shows for ourselves.  128 MB amounts to a few seconds of high quality video.  I have cropped a show to 2 minutes and it is still too large.  Why are we making improvements that can't be shown in all their glory?  Anyway, I'm glad a few like my shows and I will work on getting them out.  This new video quality is fantastic and should be held up for all to see.

  4. Please, I am devastated by my countries' election.  If you voted for this despicable man don't talk to me.  I'm sorry, but this last year has made me sick.  I won't comment further and hope your lives remain just fine.

  5. Can't upload files that are well within the limits as stated.  Why are we working on another Beta when this problem has been around for a long time.  I am going to continue to use this program, but I'm not going to waste another minute trying to post.  I've had it.

  6. Just tried to upload a 171 meg zipped file.  Crashed at 3 percent.  It contains video so I can't shrink it much more.  Anybody else hit a limit?  I will submit more details soon. Just tried again...hits 3 percent quickly and then starts over and then crashes saying there was a problem.  File just too big?  If you use video you will hit a wall quickly.  I built the show on beta 10.  Tried to open in with beta 17 and it stated the usual "Made on a newer version...open at your own risk" or something like that.  The newer version being beta 10?

  7. Hi Igor...no I didn't try to upload two versions.  I have been tired lately and not staying up to date.  Sorry for the late reply.  Also, I can't open any files from earlier version 9 Beta's as in opening a show i was working on in V9 beta 9 in V9 beta 10.  When I try to open a show from an earlier beta it says I'm trying to open a show that was prepared in a newer version of PTE, even though it was an earlier version.  I have lost a lot of work that I can't open and have to start over again.  I know, Beta, so no real complaints.  I am real tired and will step aside for a few weeks and see if I get some energy back, so good luck with the betas.

  8. Thanks guys.  The show I was trying to upload to Slideshowclub included two video segments that together were in the 200meg realm.  1920x1080 video gets quite large quickly.  I guess I will stay away from using the new fine qualities that Version 9 has for video.

  9. Just uploaded a file with a lot of video...it isn't great but it gives you an idea what you can do within the constraints of PTE.  It is a great program and will always get better.  The file is Valley of Fire in the Slideshow section.

  10. Experiment with the sizes if your software lets you.  I love high resolution, but PTE has a time with the video.  I use 720 at the most for now.  I hear it will change in the future.  Keep in mind the smoothness of the playback of stills and transitions is very unique in PTE.  Keep posting Laszlo...just use 720 and for now keep the video part on the short side.  I hope this helps...it isn't something you are doing wrong, to my knowledge.

  11. I create and watch my shows on a 43 inch UHD screen.  The shows you are talking about look poorly on high res screens...my old shows included. I've only been doing this for about 15 years so I know how to shrink pics. My most recent show is about 10 megs.  I create for the future, not the past.  5 years from now many will be working with 8k screens.  Also, my shows aren't pretty pictures with music, but what I call Multimedia shows.  Why have a limit over 200 megs when 140 can't be uploaded...and with today's internet it only takes a minute to download a substantial show.  I know most view these shows on an ipad screen.  Perhaps I'm wasting my time.  Your comment sounds like the same kind that comes from people who don't like a movie because it runs over 2 hours.  What does that have to do with entertainment?

I hope this answers your question...I guess I could give it the 10 meg answer and say my show, not shows, are over 140 meg because they can be.

  12. Just posted a 109 meg file and it uploaded fine.  The one I tried to post yesterday was 143 megs.  I will try that one again next month when I have a new months megs to fool with.  Thanks to all once again.  From now on I will sleep on it before I open my mouth and insert my foot.  Also, to clarify why I let it fly yesterday...after I shrunk some pics with Photoshop Elements the program decided to not open again without me paying for the program that I just bought last October.  Not 1 minute after using the program it decides to only let me use a trial version or pay for the full version.  I think that had me going more than the PTE thing.  Luckily I slept on that one and realized it was a download version.  I checked my past emails and found the serial numbers still there...like an idiot I hadn't saved them to file but I was smart enough not to delete the email.  The body isn't what it used to be and I guess the mind is getting a bit rusty too.

  13. Thanks people...I just took a morning moment when my nerves haven't been set on fire as yet...and read an earlier post about size of files.  I was uploading

a file that was within posted limits but was quite large due to the fact I wanted to post a show for UHD, so I didn't shrink the files to HD.  Since others with great skills have had the same problem I believe the software just doesn't read the files correctly when they are large.  I was only posting the PC version to make sure I was within the limits as I hadn't read the limits details in a while.  The show was 142 megs.  I will edit like mad and shrink it down and see what happens.  Sorry for just flat out blowing up yesterday.  I should only post in the morning before events start getting under my skin.  My mother had a horrible temper and everyone from her side of the family just loved blowing up.  Ha...I'm 65 years old and can still blame Ma.  She would blow up if she were here.

Thanks everyone.  I will keep my temper in check and only post when I'm calm.

  14. 15 years later I still can't upload a file.  I am sooooo tired of this.  I could do this without fail on Beachbrook...but now I can't do it.  I am now going to just amuse myself with my own files and give up trying to use this forum to upload anything.  Goodbye and enjoy yourselves.

  15. Just stopped by and noticed no response to your topic.  I guess that gives you an idea how much people don't want to get together or just like their privacy.  I wish I could get to Perth, but at least I am with you in spirit all the way.  I am in New Mexico, USA.  I agree, a map of member locations sounds great.  Count me in.
