  1. I too had the same experience but as I was, I believe, the first to open the thread I think I had a vote recorded for me when I had not made my choice. I think my vote was recorded as either 1 or 2 as those were the only two votes shown. I would have voted 2. Ron [uK]
  2. I am glad that Ian has added his comments to this one. I had been producing AV Presentations using twin projectors, in my mediocre way, for about 20 years until I converted to digital projection twelve months ago. I had seen the yellowness mentioned by Ernst in digital projection, which put me off following that route, for a while, until I saw the results achieved by the CBAV Royale Digital Projection Unit at a National AV Festival in 2001. This encouraged me to purchase one of the first of these units and since then I have been busy making new sequences and re-making some of my original ones. I can confirm, therefore, that my roots are in the twin projector method, but digital and particularly PTE has opened up a whole new world in my AV presentations. Ron [uK]
  3. Thanks for your comments Michel on RAM. I have tried "To Marie" on my Royale Projection System - 512 Mb RAM, Pentium III 866 MHz, Windows ME OS. The transitions were as smooth as silk!!! On my 6 foot (1800mm) screen the images were stunning, so much so that I would have preferred to have had them on the screen just that little bit longer. It takes that much longer taking in a picture on a big screen than on a computer monitor. My normal aim is to average 8 to 10 seconds for transition plus screen time, with the transition taking up about 3 to 4 seconds. However I cannot express once again how much I appreciated your sequence. It was great. Ron [uK]
  4. My current system is Pentiium 4, 1.4GHz, 128 Mb Ram, 20 GB HD, Graphics 32MB MSl GeForce2 MX AGP VGA Card, Sound Creative Soundblaster PCl 128 and Windows ME. Ron [uK]
  5. I experienced the abrupt cut off at the end and a slight flicker between the changes. I suggest insertion of a few secs of silence at the end of the music and a black slide so that there can be a gentle fade out. As regards the flicker that presumably is down to my own hardware. But the photography, absolutely great. Ron [uK]
  6. I think many of us have experienced this in the past and no doubt someone more experienced than me will soon step in with the answers. In the meantime you might give some more details so that they may be better informed to provide the answers. What music files are you using wav or mp3? What synchronise system are you using default, music duration or customised? You might look at earlier threads such as "Audio Jitter" on page 4 in which Ian gives a useful explanation which may be analagous. My suggestion in the meantime is to check your "Time on Screen" + "Fade Time" and to use mp3 music files if your not already doing so. Ron [uK]
  7. My Royale Digital AV System is fitted with a Plus U3-1080 Digital Projector XGA Resolution (1024x768). Image quality is excellent, projecting well on large and small screens. I have projected in situations where the blackout as not been perfect and the results were acceptable. Also no problems in projecting DVDs. At home I prefer not to have complete darkness when viewing and project on to a 6 foot screen. Ron [uK]
  8. Thanks Ian. I have just tried that and the result was most satisfactory. Wasn't quite sure which settings to use when saving as *.gif but what I did use was OK. Ron [uK]
  9. I agree with Ian and use his Method 2. As a development this last week I gave a show of eight sequences, which were triggered from the last image in an opening sequence as follows: First of all I produced a set of eight slides in Adobe Photoshop with a logo as a centrepiece, but with a change of colour for each background, using the gradient tool. These were loaded into a new project and the following settings were used in Project Options – under Main>Show Settings select “When show ends keep last slide in show on screen” and display each slide was set at 500ms; under Advanced did not check “Hide mouse cursor during show” as this was needed. (For my actual sequences I always hide the mouse); for under Music I used a piece which was about 60 seconds long; under Comments I added the same wording on a few of the middle slides so that it superimposed during slide changes; and under Effects I used Fade In & Out and adjusted the duration so that the music finished on the last slide. Then on the last slide I used Object Editor and Ian’s Method 2. I am experimenting now using an image from each sequence instead of the button, but I am not happy with the resolution of the reduced size I am producing in Photoshop and I am hoping Ian might answer that one for me.
