  1. Mike If you look at the original thread, MidKnight wants to "make an enlargement for the wall". My judgement for #1 has been based on that premise. As an image for AV I tend not to use vertical format unless it can be incorporated in an acceptable way. Ron [uK]
  2. I have voted for #1. The water flows nicely from right, to left, to right through the picture. The waterfall is too central in #2. I would keep the branch in without a doubt. Ron [uK]
  3. Once again Michel you have produced some superb images with sensitive fades to the music. Thanks for the pleasure it has given me. Ron [uK]
  4. Some useful wishes there. Guru, in the UK we say "Give him an inch and he'll take a mile" , but what it is in metric ...??? Ron [uK]
  5. Works a treat on my machine - Pentium 4; GeForce2 MX 32Mb graphics. Most enjoyable. Ron [uK]
  6. There is something wrong with this poll. I first of all had a look to see how the voting was going and when I backed to the original site I was told that I had voted. What for? As I am fairly neutral in all this I am amazed at this extra sensory perception. It should be bottled and marketed. Ron [uK]
  7. I have been following all the categories that are being suggested and there are now so many that it has now got to the point where the Forum would be better left as it is. As I consult the Forum at least once a day it is quite easy for me to see where there has been any changes. If categories are made I suggest that the number be limited to say five, plus a general (don't know where to put it) category. Ron [uK]
  8. Limey In reply to your thread of 11:56 am today all I was trying to indicate was the only way I had found to play a previously produced project without music, to test out your original suggested bug. It is something for which I have not found a need. Sorry I cannot add to that. Ron [uK]
  9. I agree with what you are saying, but I think in order to acheive a run through without music you will need also to delete your music source and uncheck sync to music. Ron [uK]
  10. I am using ME and could not get this glitch to happen. Ron [uK]
  11. Thanks Igor Installed and working satisfactorily Ron [uK]
  12. New preview systems great and working satisfactorily. Thanks. I also am getting it still showing as beta#1. Ron [uK]
  13. You can use the "Comments" option in P2E or, better still, the text feature in your picture editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. Ron [uK]
  14. I operate the same as Maureen & Ian. As a member of IAC there is also available a catalogue of copyright free music purchasable through them, although there is no facility as far as I know of listening before you buy. I have a number of these CDs excerpts from which I have used from time to time. As regards to Maureen's list, royaltyfee.com takes you to Gary Lamb's music, which I mentioned earlier in the thread and music2hues.com looks to be a very useful source of Royalty free music. Thanks Maureen. Ron [uK]
  15. Like Al I have not taken too much cognizance of the fades in the images above the timeline other than from a general point of view, useful as they are. However I thought I had better have a look at one of my sequences using "customize synchronisation" to check. There was no jolt in any of the transitions. As soon as the arrow reached the transition point the thumbnail image started the transition. Using Pentium 4 1.4 Ghz; 20Gb HD; 128Mb RAM; and ME OS. Ron [uK]
  16. In the old forum someone came up with the name of Gary Lamb for royalty free music. Try www.garylamb.com You can listen before buying. I have three of his CD's - "Angel", "Language of Love" and "Telve Promises". Ron [uK]
  17. Some of the threads on the forum I find completely over my head and possibly unrelated to what I am trying to achieve. It would help if I knew more about the source from which they are emanating and it would help if members gave the information in their Personal Profile particularly as regards location and interests. The recent three topics in which Sterling added the same message in each left me in not knowing whether I was on my a** or my elbow. But keep up the good work and do please check your profiles. Ron [uK]
  18. Ken I know that. That is one of the reasons why I made my comment. Ron [uK]
  19. What is all this fuss about? If you are capable of extracting an image from the sequence you must surely be capable of cloning out any unwanted marks on the extracted image, using Adobe Photoshop. From a wartime ID card I have produced a satisfactory colour portrait of myself from a photograph overstamped by both my then Head of Department and the Chief Constable. Ron [uK]
  20. Boxig Your "kinds of users" omits what I believe to be the prime users in the UK and that is the Audio Visual enthusiast. Most of us have used previously slide projection systems with fades and transitions by pulsed audio tapes. We are members of Camera Clubs and AV Groups. We have access to National and International Festivals and Championships, regional AV Days, Weekends and Competitions. There are two publications AV News, restricted to members of the Royal Photographic Society, and AV World, an independent publication by leading UK enthusiasts with a web site www.avworld.org Ron [uK]
  21. Thank you and well done Annie. Most enjoyable, excellent images. Viewing the sequence, Michel, I was going to ask the question were the images scanned from 35mm transparencies. However the answer came in the credits at the end. It also answers the question which is ongoing amongst my colleagues at the moment and that is straight digital images or scanned and I think, judging from your "Maria", the answer is digital. All my sequences at the moment have been from scanned transparencies which suffer slightly as regards resolution. I am hoping to rectify that in the future now that I have a Minolta Dimage 7Hi digital camera. Ron [uK]
  22. Thanks also Igor. Downloaded. So far so good. Liked the shaded portion on the time-line showing the effect duration of transitions. Ron [uK]
  23. I agree with Eddie and those who have supported him. There appears to be a marked difference between users of PTE in the USA and those in the UK. I think, but I may be wrong, that most users in the UK have come to PTE by way of Audio Visual or Slide-Sound presentataions using twin slide projectors. DVD is a side issue and not uppermost in our minds. Perfection of our presentations is our aim and development of PTE without distraction is my wish at least. Ron [uK]
  24. Michel Ignoring the icon, I experimented with the timeline, but without any success in stopping the flickers. So I cancelled that. I then ran through your settings and under Screen I checked the box 'Fit to Screen'. I then did a preview and the transitions went through without a flicker. The images filled my computer screen with the crackled edge just showing. Beautiful. So RAM didn't come into it or so it seems. Was it trying to cope with the background? Ron [uK]
  25. Downloaded satisfactorily. The Preview gives a Image missing D:\PTE\Maria\icon.ico One has to uncheck "Use your own icon" in Project Options>Advanced before proceeding. Otherwise OK. Don't know when I will be able to work on ii but I will have a go. Ron [uK]
