  1. Al I don't think you can create a *.ico file direct from a prepared 32x32 in Photoshop. I follow your path then create the icon in Irfanview. Correct me if I am wrong, I always appreciate what you have to say on the Forum. Your PTE 101 Tutorial was a masterpiece. Ron [uK]
  2. Well done Barry. I look forward to purchasing copies. I am on your mailing list. Ron [uK]
  3. Hi Ron I wrote the following for one of the threads that JRR mentions: "I create the images for my Icons in Photoshop, then use Irfanview to re-size to 32x32, to create them. Finding that in 256 Colors PTE would not accept, I decreased the colour depth in Irfanview to 16 and all has been well." Since then I have reduced the size to 32x32 in Photoshop. Also in Irfanview - Image>Decrease Color Depth- I have found that if I reduce to 16 then back to 256 all is well - some little quirk? As regards buttons these can also be created in Photoshop and brought into PTE as Image Objects. On this you will find the answers to my question about Object Editor-Invisible button bounding box at 11 October 2003 Ron [uK]

    Music

Al So far I have had no problems with "Audition" - touch wood. Fortunately much is the same as CoolEdit. One feature which I found to be an improvement is File>Extract Audio from CD. It is simple and fast. Ron [uK]

    Music

From what you have written it would appear that you are trying to use audio files straight from a CD, albeit via Windows Media and "My Music", without converting it to *.mp3 or *.wav format. Whilst I use CoolEdit and now its replacement Adobe Audition for this purpose, there are other programmes which no doubt readers will recommend. You can also get *.mp3 music, which can be used in the method you describe or even direct into P2E, from such sources as MP3.com. Ron [uK]
  6. In my earlier thread I did mention the work of Barry Beckham. Why not look at his website www.barrybeckham.co.uk in the meantime? Ron [uK]
  7. Carol I enjoyed the sequence very much indeed. It demonstrated the wonderful tools that are available to us with Photoshop in a sympathetic way. I viewed it before reading your intro here and, before your end titles, wondered if it was the work of Barry Beckham. Thank you and Oleg. Ron [uK]
  8. Merlin There is a thread started 27 May 2003 by mannybr2003. I found this for you using Search (Box top right)and entering "Animated GIF" in the Search by Keywords and selecting over 365 days. A number of threads came up. Hope this helps. Ron [uK]
  9. Great solutions. They remind me of my local authority's solution to a rat-run they had created in my road by closing an adjoining road where one of their cronies lived. They painted "SLOW" on the road just outside my home. How the regular abusers took notice. And How! Enjoy yourselves with some more novel ideas. Fortunately I have no such problems. I don't consider my images worth copying. See my website. Ron [uK]
  10. How we all seek different things and sometimes opposites. See my thread "Objects" Last Post 11.10.03 in which I sought to get rid of the surrounding box which I am now able to do from the advice received. This may solve your problem Jim or it could provide a catalyst for someone to come up with the answer. Ron [uK]
  11. From Ron W to Ron W Try this http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/ Ron [uK]
  12. Al I am delighted to be able to mark my 100th Post by adding to the congratulations rightly showered upon you for such an excellent programme. Best wishes Ron [uK]
  13. To add to what has been said by Nobeefstu, from the file extensions quoted *.ico and *.mp3 you should find the former in Project Options>Main>Use your own icon.... (uncheck the box) and the latter under Project Options>Music>Play background music (highlight offending music file and click the remove box). Hope this helps. Ron [uK]
  14. Looks fine on my 19" too, when I switch to 800x600, but when I switch back to 1024x768 all my icons, which I normally have positioned where I want them around the perimeter of the screen, are thrown out of position. Hence my other solution. Ron [uK]
  15. I have now taken it that one unzip further as Ken suggested and have been able to view the sequence. Pity about the use of 800x600 as I had the distraction of my desktop surrounding it. I don't propose to alter my settings just for that. However, in PTE, I have loaded a background and, using object editor, the *.jpg image 'Bohemian' and "Run application or open file", created my own PTE of your sequence. I liked your individual transitions, the subtle changes of colour with a twirl and hour hand fades. Very enjoyable. Ron [uK]
  16. Mike I tried to download your Bohemian Rhapsody and saved a file Bohem50.zip. I unzipped that to produce a folder Bohem50. In the folder was a further *.zip file Bohemia and *.jpg image Bohemian. How much further unzipping must one have to go please. Ron [uK]
  17. In view of the interest now shown, I am glad I revived this thread. Ron [uK]
  18. I am surprised that there has been no other reaction to Barry's original suggestion, particularly from UK readers. Wouldn't Royalty free music cut out the need for Musicians Union approval in the UK? Ron [uK]
  19. Crumbs! Looking again more closely, it could be a slice of bread. Ron [uK]
  20. Barry I would be interested. I too like Medwyn Goodall's music. Ron [uK]
  21. Alan Al is right. You can preview your project without music by selecting a slide in the Slide List then clicking the "envelope" icon in the bottom righthand corner of the Preview Window above, and the preview will start one slide before the slide selected. Ron [uK]
  22. Thanks both of you. That worked !!! Ron [uK]
  23. Is there a way in P2E to make invisible the rectangular bounding box which surrounds a button. I want to be able to click on an object in a picture to open an application without the bounding box being visible. I know Ian has done this with his Christmas Card a couple of years ago, but I believe this was in a different programme. Ron [uK]
  24. There should be a ZIP file PTEReg. Go for it and good luck. Ron [uK]
  25. I learnt the use of CoolEdit and CoolEdit+Studio from two excellent papers written by a colleague in Mid-Thames AV Group. Ron [uK]
