  1. Hi Lumenlux, It would be nice to see what someone does, or does not, with comments placed by other members. Will you upload a revised version of this show on Beechbrook ? I think that would be very nice to compare. Michel Verhoef
  2. Hi Lumenlux, I had no problem in downloading and playing it from beechbrook. You wanted some comment; well I will keep it short: -This is a good example of a documentary show. - The transitions are fast; but because the underlying music is in fact spoken this does not have to be the problem itself, but.. - With the fast transitions people may become quickly tired, because of the constant adaptation of eyes and brains. (it is not like in a film where the images are all linked in a streaming transition). - There are indeed too many different transition methods used. - When listening to the spoken words I feel distracted in viewing the pictures and vice versa (English is not my native language) - There are quite a lot of unsharp pictures (especially in the beginning), maybe you should leave them out or mask them with an applied software filter. But, the overall idea is good and your statement really comes out!!! greetings Michel Verhoef.
  3. Good idea, but is it also very simple to use it alongside Internet explorer ? (the explorer as the default browser I mean) It seems that Netscape is not 100% compatible (in reading pages) with the Explorer, and vice versa ? greetings Michel Verhoef
  4. Well, well what a barrage of opinions. I must say I am not surprised because this subject always seems to be very delicate and adrenaline rushing; the problem with me is that I am always looking for objective criteria in viewing such a subjective thing like a slide show. So I will rest this case, and will go on watching all what will be presented. Michel
  5. Hi all, When I want to download a show, I always ask myself, which one to chose. I don't have a broadband connection so downloading takes always a while. So would it be an idea to give everyone the opportunity to rate a show after watching it. This is done with pictures on other sites like the famous http://daily.webshots.com. So these ratings will give an average idea of the show beeing interesting or not. Would that be in principle a good idea or not ? (of course without considering the difficulty of the programming of this feature for the webadministration) Michel Verhoef
  6. Hi Ralph, First of all not a bad show and quite entertaining, but... you wanted to know what I did not like about the show: ..the images with the second quiet peace of music are not all fitting to this mood. I would suggest that some country shots from the first part (with the mambo) put in the second part and some noisy pictures (Ceasar and the waggon) put in the first part, so the noisy pictures with the uptempo music and the atmoshpherical pictures with the slow tempo music. The color red within the ceasar and waggon pictures are far too boosted and distract too much. (You should also change the orange color of the guy with the T-shirt comparing to the boosted red). The transitions of te slides in the second part are maybe too fast comparing to the slow tempo of the music. In the title roll at the end I am missing the credits for the music. These are some critical notes I hope to your benefit. You are although still improving I think. Michel Verhoef
  7. Very nice, and some good ideas and examples of the third image. I also agree that the transitons here should only be fade in /fade out, and maybe a bit slower. I like especially the couple fading within the rose. very creative thinking !! Michel Verhoef
  8. I tried a transition of 20 seconds, and understand what you mean by the third image... I think it would be nice to do a half transition to the 2nd slide and than return to the first. Is that possible within PTE or do you have to create a blending mode first in photoshop in the second slide ? Michel Verhoef
  9. The reason you like your cats show better than your last one is because you are more emotionally involved to your cat-images. This is always a pit-fall for us amateur photographers. I understood this after beeing a member of a photoclub (already some years by now) where one sees and judges photographs of other photographers. From the photographically side of viewing pictures, a good picture of an animal is one of the most difficult things to take, because of the huge competiton in very good animal pictures. I have learnt that after taking a "good" picture, I put it somewhere visible in my room and watch it for some day's over and over again. In this period I can take some distance from it and if I still like it than, I take it to the public. By the way..., I hope I did not offend you in speaking of an animal instead of ... your cat. Keep on the good work Michel Verhoef
  10. Hi Isabel, Very nice done, I like it more than your cats show. With you playing yourself this show becomes more unique than ever. For the images I like especially the 2nd and 3rd image. Also the compliments from my wife. keep on going! Michel Verhoef
  11. Hi, It does not happen a lot that there is apparantly a strong link between the lyrics of the music and the images. This makes it also very personal. There can of course than be a problem on this international site that not everyone might understand the english language enough or realises it too late that there is a link between the lyrics and the images. I myself did realise this at the "strange" transition to the money. So in this show I think the images support the music instead of the other way around. That does not matter if you like that but I would not prefer it. One can see a lot of dust on some images which I found too distracting, considering my concentration to listen and follow the lyrics. In all I would say a quite original show, but a concept that I would not prefer. thanks Michel Verhoef
  12. Hi (Michel) There is indeed a problem in the show at the spot that Isabel mentioned. It hangs and starts to repeat the previous slide over and over again. You wanted some comment, here it is: The show itself has a good start (with the heli). The music is well chosen and reflects a vibrant atmosphere. But the transitions are again too fast. Try to snap your fingers in the rythm of the music and make the transitions on one snap. So the tempo should be lowered of the transitions. Than the images have all different dimensions which is rather restless in the show. Try to make them 2 or 3 different sizes and reshuffle them accordingly. The images itself are much better than from your previous show, but I will comment on them later if I see the show completely. succes! Michel Verhoef (The Netherlands)
  13. Just viewed your project. Very good, especialy photographically; this is something that people often seem to forget !! Did I miss the name of the music? You should put it somewhere in the show (copyrights?). I can see that you live in this region (or visit this region very often) because of the constantly good and/or interesting lighting conditions. This is our most important means of creating good outdoor pictures. Will you put this project also on beechbrook.com/pte, where I also have some projects ?? Again, my compliments !! Michel Verhoef
  14. Ok, I looked again at the show; it has much improved with the funky music and the speed is also correct now. Because I am self a photographer and a member of a photoclub I always pay attention on things which other people might overlook (like sloping horizons, image compositions etc.). So that's the reason I gave the advise in my previous comment. By the way I could not find your presentation on beechbrook.com. Will it be posted there?? I myself have posted some shows there, maybe you like them. Michel Verhoef (from the Netherlands)
  15. I did reply on this, so 2nd try.. Original starting with the boat coming across the screen! But...the speed of the pictures and the transitions are too fast comparing to the slow tempo of the music. So.. less pictures would be better. The pictures also could be more saturated and/or have more contrast. Some horizons are not horizontal and can be adjusted in photoshop. With some adjustments this show could be much better. succes! Michel Verhoef
  16. Hi, already several times I tried to upload a project; my connection keeps up going without ever stopping and I don't get any confirmation. I filled out the complete beechbrook/upload sheet; I used a zip file and a small jpg for the id.; I even sent the files as an attachment to the forum: that succeeded, but even than... no reaction. It seems that I can't get through whatever I do. Mike
