  1. This sounds like a solution for slide shows created by the original user but, what about when a user has downloaded a slide show from another user?

I will contact Barry Beckham and see what he can suggest. Barry has excellent slide shows that I have downloaded over some years now, they won't play in Mac Sierra now.

  2. Jeff, I am not clear what your problem is but am sure that it can be sorted out. Perhaps you could explain in more detail what is causing this frustration. As Lin has said, it may not be a PTE problem.

  3. I have used this program for many years now and can endorse all the previous comments about how good it is. Back in the day, it was considered to be the best software for creating slide shows but, it is now it is considered to be the very best for creating Audio Visual Slide Shows. You do not need to be a professional in order to create an excellent slide show although there is a learning curve to go through. If you do get confused, there are a multitude of willing experts on hand to assist you, you just need to join the Forum and ask.

  4. OK guys, all is well now.

I decided to do a System Reset of Windows 10 and this seemed to clear the initial problem but, it created a new one, i.e. I was only able to select from three display resolutions and this did not allow me to take advantage of the higher resolutions of the retina display of my iMac. I then discovered that I needed to re-install 'VMware Tools' in order to correct the new problem.

    Now everything is working OK.

    Cheers,

  5. I did try Parallels a few years back and, while it performed well, I preferred to use the other well known virtual machine calles 'VMware Fusion' that I found to be a little easier to use.
I am still waiting for Igor and his team to create an iMac version of PTE though because I think that this would be preferable to usung a virtual environment.

    Ron.

  6. "I am a Mac User"  I know that PTE works well on a PC, my question is about VMware Fusion.  As I stated previously, Everything worked well in Windows 8.1, it is only since I upgraded to Windows 10.

I might consider doing a complete clean install of both Windows 10 and Vmware but, that seems a little extreme until I kn ow that it is just me having the problem.

    Ron.

  7. I am a Mac user and have installed VMware Fusion and run PTE in that, as a virtual machine. I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and now seem to be having problems running PTE. (it was perfect in Windows 8.1)
It all started very well but I now find that the PTE program is running so slow it is tiresome. It could be a problem with VMware program or with Windows itself but I am quite sure that it is nothing to do with PTE.

Is anybody else, who has upgraded to Windows 10, ecperiencing this problem?

  8. Yes I agree with the previous posts, Utube uploader within PTE has some issues and I have stopped using it also. It is important for me to be able to upload correctly because I use a 'Widget' to embed my slide shows from Utube into my web site. Therefore I use my Utube account to do the initial upload.

  9. Sounds like a good idea but, I am confused about what you are asking us to do. If I uninstall the current version and then install this beta version, without importing previous settings, will I then have to uninstall the beta version and re-install the current version of 8? Then where will my previous settings be?

  10. This seems to have been a problem for many of you guys and it was a problem for me also.

I have solved it now though and perhaps the way I do it is not unique but, nobody has mentioned it so I thought I would add my two pennies worth to this debate.

I use a program called 'TunesGo' and it works a treat for both videos (mp4) and music - via iTunes.

I have written a step by step tutorial on the simple procedure and if you would like a copy please email me and I will send you a PDF.

  11. I ought to know the answer to this but, I don't so I need to ask the question.

The screen resolution of my iPad Air2 is 2048 x 1536 and I want to create my MP4 videos to fill the iPad screen (clearly not a wide screen)

What size and resolution should I crop my original images to?

I know that PTE provides some options for older iPads but I have never used them so far.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  12. Hi Eric, glad that you found the site OK (Yahoo must have some slow mice crawling around the net) Remember that this site is in its infancy and will obviously have bugs until I get my head aroung using Muse.

At the momeny I have only just understood the slide show widget.

Did you find that the shows played OK?

I checked again this morning and you were quiote correct, the shows that only play at 72 were only uploaded with that resolution. In future I will pay attentikon and create at the higher resolution of 1080.

Thank you for steering me in the right direction.

    Ron
