Yes I have the same problem when I activate shows running from a mainpage! Each time the new zone alarm gives a warning message. I am not bothering this myself because I like zonealarm and many people I make my cd's for don't have it anyway. But you are right you can deny or accept the warning message without any problem!

It can take some time when loading the exe for first time. Sometimes even firewalls delete the progress of loading too. (this specially happens with Zonelaps) Once the show has runned it normally goes real fast

Lin, Does the same problem occur also when you click left mouse button? I have a lot of fade in- fade out effects and advise the users to end by left mouse when esq not works properly. (it's sometimes harder when using fade effects)

Hello josephm, What I would do is following: Load your pte file and run the presentation from the area (pic) where it occurs the problem. If the problem doens't happen in your sample preview I really don't know what's wrong and it should work fine after you made the exe. But anyway if the problem still occurs try delete pic 126-127-128 and reload (renew) them again at the same place and try again! The best would be (always to make templates) and check if all files indeed are show up in bold if you load the pte from the template! If you have add seperate objects or buttons and placed at a background pic they don't show up in bold but check if the files are in your template as well! Often the link stayed to their old location, even when you overwrite the template. In that case click location and replace the objects from the ones that are located inside your template. These two actions took away some similar errors I had in the past by loading older presentations and try to change music or addings some pics to it!

Thanks Igor as usual! I think I can get 4 shows on 1 dvd for TV because the files getting between 800 and 1Gig hihihi. yeah I have big shows but at least I can get 18-25 on one DVD for computer use! My new and latest Iceland CD\DVD photo cd is the best ever (still with version 4.8). It's almost done. It's my most powerful show as well! You cannot finish it in 1 evening! When that's finished I gone play more with version 5! Still fixing some bugs in these long presentations!

Igor, I was playing with version 5 again. I never did moving pictures before but it is a real challange now the tricks take shape! First of all I was amazed by the quality of the show on tv. I didn't expect it would turn out so well and you know how critical I am when I see bad views. Everything was VERY, clear and the sharpness was really far above all my expectation! Also the quality of the sound was amazing. So all who tell you the quality of pictures or sound looks bad on tv screen must do something wrong! Maybe because I always use MP3 in 320 kbits/sec for all my normal slideshows for PC. I used the same quality for my try outs. Also my pics were quite big between 500 and 700kb. (size 1140x760 which I find excellent for laptop widescreen view as well! There were a few problems while trying my first slideshow for TV too but the DVD was still working. I couldn't finish any trial at 100%, all stopped at 99%. (the time ends at 00.00 but the drive keeps running and the progress syas at 99%. It also is hard to replace the pictures that I use in special background pictures (as you know I always use just a 1x1 pixel pic as bacground in which I place my object pics. These doesn't load from previous versions in version but I am sure you will fix that problem. Because they don't load in the correct lay-out it's hard to replace them in version 5 as it is really well possible with version 4.8. There was also a question how to solve the problem with wrong screen settings while adding objects. Which is actually very easy to solve in version 4,8. Just use a 1x1 pixel backgrond pic, add your objects or pics and group them and the screen will always fit even in 800x600. I don't figur it out with version 5 yet.

Hello, I don't remember which PTE user asked but maybe my answer can help other users as well. (I accidently delete some mail when cleaning up) The questions was how I make autorun DVD shows instead on CD rom. The person had serious problems to let DVD run automatically from the maindrive. His DVD worked only in his burner but not in the normal drive! The answers is .... don't burn your show in multisession option and the problem will be solved.

Robert, send me your e-mail.... and you get some lay-out files in your mail... also check the update... I am finished now with the autorun but activate all buttons now so useless to send new sample, if the files can't load all the seperate files the program will stock anyway!! I got back to version 4.8 to make my new mainpages with PTE... Just finished 2 and it works perfectly in all screensettings now. Sadly I can't do it with version 5 yet! Tomorrow I gone make the shows!

Hello, For me the screensettings are essential at least if people want to view my shows in the quality I have plan it on my cd's or dvd's. My experience is that people don't like to change their screensettings. Therefore I decide in my layout work for which setting the show will perfom best! I don't like to change the screensettings myself either. Therefore this subject is very important when you making your layout. (especially when you work from mainpages to present many seperated shows from, like I do) I deal with lots of problems in version 5 with this, because there many screesettings and you cannot group the objects inside. To group the objects is essential if you don't want to loose your layout with different screensettings. Without grouping your objects will show up everywhere you don't want it! You also will loose your hotspots! What I mean you can see on two small samples I put online which I made with version 5. At least 1 of them should be out of line dramatically. Maybe even both. This because I can't group the objects. The other BIG problems I deal with is the fact that when I load pics or Objects (read seperated pics) they don't load in their original format and most loose a lot of their quality when the PTE resample them to screen fitting. Hopefully I prevent that in the samples I given you.. (I am not sure... This shows up real bad when I use small link banners or thumbnails!!! Igor, I got a few marvellous idea's after I experiment a little with the new version but sadly the background setting (option) doesn't work yet so I guess I still have to wait a little.

Igor, In version 5 I can't load previous versions of PTE in which I group objects in editor so I can't play around with these older files or shows to test certain things with version 5. The group option is very important to prevent viewings problems when people don't want to use the screensetting as you requered for the show!!

OH yeah, I see what you mean. I already see some awesome tricks with the new animation editor as well although I really need some time to get used with all these new features...

Thanks Ken!! That save me some time! Oh... I know very well how Igor works hihihi. He is great and takes comments real seriously. Of course new things need time... There many great new options. Most of us were really eager to be able to make shows that run directly from dvd on tv. So far i didn't try that, like I never did any actions with flash, animations or moving things because it doesn't belong to the way I do my presentations. I just make shows for nature and wildlife lovers so any moving thing takes away the eyes from what I want to show people.

I am not sure... about the timing problem I had and that drove me so crazy that I stopped checking version 5 for a little while first! Anyway, last night I use the old beta version 3 trick!!! I cleanup and reinstall version 5 and now it's gone HIHIHI At least now all the old (**.pte) files running smoothly as before and time setting working perfectly too now! Most problems I cope with happens with the new object/animation editor but I don't have time to went through all previous feedback and comments right now. I see several things that not working in the editor (add buttons, texts etc...) and it probably already should be mentioned before. I would love to see an OK button at first so you can confirm the action you just did! (like in the old editor! My biggest concern right now (and that's why I make my new shows on version 4.47) is that the pictures resize to screen. You can nicely put the MODE in original but just for the picture showing up in the object editor. What about all the 200 other pictures ???????? I think I miss something here.... you should be able to set all pics in original mode by one click or 1 setting so far I couldn't find it!

Robert, You can make your invisible hotspots with MMB.. It's a very simple program when you teach it yourself as I did!!! I learn it mainly by checking the MMB (**.mbd) files from others! These are similar (work) files PTE (**.pte) using. By checking the layout it's very easy to find out how it's done and to change it to your own preferences! I can send you some if you like!

Sorry for the late reply but I was building my autorun first......... I found some serious problems in timing with fade in-out when you load older pte files. All my old files running very smootly but version 5 runs it like a grandprix race!!! The shows made in older versions running MUCH too fast and I can't set the duration time of the effect longer then 3seconds either when the main display time is 3sec or less! I found the only solution so far by set the dispay time at 7 seconds. The display time is not accurate! Secondly I can't find an easy way to keep the ORIGINAL pictures size without changing their format. I found a way how to do it but I have to do it file by file. It's very hard when there are 200 pics in the presentation already. I maybe I overlook something!!! I like the auto screen setting VERY much but not if my pics getting resized because quality loss! Many people will not see it but sadly I do!

It's mainly photoshop work. Same pic in 3 different colours (changing with colour adjustment) MMB does the rest. (at least if you know how it works but it is extremely simple.) I use it for many years and it never let me down, it's very reliable as autorun which I need to start my mainpage from to let my PTE shows running! Hello there, For the old guys (and ladies) who still know me from a long time ago I can tell you that I am back in business. Working on some new slideshows. Just for fun and without any commercial intentions as usual! It's just some promotion work to help out some nice people who might need it. I am planning 18 new shows and today I just finished the first autorun trial.. So for those who are interested in one of the starts of my presentations it's worth to look at. (ITS NOT the mainpage from which I let the shows running. It's just the autorun to start the cd!!!))) Maybe some of you will get some nice idea's too and maybe even some of you can give me tips for improvements as well. Just realise that not every link or shortcut will work because it need it seperate files which I didn't upload because their sizes!. oh yeah just checked a little. I found a few problems after loading some older files while trying. I find some problems with the time settings for fade in-and fade out and the the size of the pictures. To get the show running in a reasonable way I need to set the main viewing time for each pic at 7 sec (normally I use 3sec). I found a way to get back the original size but I only can do it one by one (some files include 300 pics so that is a lot of work) It'svery important for a photographer that the original size will NOT change (unless he want it) because that change the quality too! I will keep in touch later... When I start to make my new shows I will walk into some other things as well!

Yeah, I actually never have been away from P2E but I worked more behind the scene. My latest slide show about the Yukon (approx 640MB) was such a big success that everything went completely out of control. I think there exist more then a million copies now... My new job keep me so busy that I hardly find any time to do any updates on my websites or put more shows online. That's a pity. My slide shows too large for putting them online and a complete show mostly have about 30 seperate files anyway! Working from the main side was an enormous success and I still do it but in a much different way now. I gone experiment with DVD and see if it will open some new idea's I have about 10.000 pics from iceland which I made this summer and they just are edited. Really good shots even from Geyser that explodes and spit water in the air for 30 meters. Very nice step by step shots 1/1000 of second. I think I will try to make it alive again with P2E. The bird shots are even more amazing. Puffin heads, close up in full screen which really showing up well with their beautiful colours. The light and colours are amazing there.

Wow Igor, What an improvements!! I am still stocked in my old presentation skill because so many people are pleased with it but I surely will start to work with the latest version soon. I just finished editing around 10.000 new pictures that I made in 2006 so a lot of new experiments to make! I will let you know what I think about all the new options I have to experiment with!
