  1. ... Sure, the view 6 is correctly done, but the two previous view durations are now of 7 s instead of 5 ...

There are really some surprising effects. If you apply that kind of style to the same slides but in different ways (several times to single slides, or once to a group of slides) the slide times may differ. sad.gif

  2. ... We wouldn't complicate the interface of Audio tab. Replacing of an audio clip is not frequent operation, on my opinion.

I was thinking of consistency. You replace images and videos via an icon, why not audio clips? It really will not be a feature that I will use very often. But a feature should be visible: An icon is, the double click is not. As I said, not important for me, but ....

  3. ... Is there a way to obtain precisely the same size ...

Under the hypothesis that the line spacing is set to zero: The letters in two text boxes with the same font have the same size, if, and only if the zoom numbers of the boxes divided by the corresponding numbers of lines coincide.

  4. ... Have you a simple/easy solution to keep the animation of the view number 6 up to the end ..

What about creating a new style:

    - Open "Drunk_Vision_Slide_Making.pte"

    - Highlight slide 3 and untick "Scales keyframes ..." in the slide options.

    - Add a new slide in the slide list at position 4. Give it a non-vanishing transition time.

    - Change the slide options of slide 3 back to "Scales keyframes ..."

    - Highlight slide 3 and create a new slide style "Drunk_modified".

Does this new slide style do what you want to see?

  5. When working in the timeline view, is there an option to move a slide to the left (together with its attached sound file) while keeping all the subsequent slides at the same position ...

In order to follow Lin's way, you have to tick "Time Points". An alternative: Move the mouse until you see the double-sided arrow. Then click left and drag.

  6. ... But is that restriction really necessary when using the .ptshow approach ...

I myself do not see a conceptual difference between the two scenarios, but let's see what Igor will say. A bit odd is the fact (at least on my machine) that if I click on the folder icon below "Action on mouse click - Run slideshow with return", I see an explorer window that wants me to choose an executable.

  7. We now have two possible settings for sharpening images, one in the project options (screen tab), and another one for each image using negative values with the slider for blur in the O&A window. A short observation seems to tell me that any kind of global setting for sharpness (except the value of none) deactivates any kind of individual dynamic sharpness. Question: Is my observation correct? Wouldn't it be better if the local settings would overwrite the global ones?

  8. In any case, KFSD option or "Display full slide duration" option will be turned OFF by default. No need to worry ...

I would not worry about the default settings. They may be as you want them to be, as long as I can change them. My little problem is, that I can see the classical duration in the slide view (it is shown inside the thumbnails). But if I change to the timeline view, it's only the status bar that shows the duration, and for me (for the purpose of synchronization) I would like to see there the classical duration (perhaps as an option). But the status bar only shows the full duration

  9. ... KFSD with zero transition time is your "real duration". Are you saying that you NEVER EVER overlap slides ...

That's the problem (Did you really read my post?). In the situation that I am thinking of, I had even changing overlaps. The slide duration, in the timeline view showed the full duration, which was totally useless for my synchronization business. There I wanted to see the difference between the start times of consecutive slides (classical duration) in order to match the start times with the beats of the music. It's a fact that full duration always has the tendency to count the transition times twice.

So, all I want is, that in future versions PTE should show the classical duration in the timeline view, provided that "Display full slide duration" has been turned off.

  10. ... And one more global option - "Display full slide duration" in Preferences ...

Regarding KFSD I share the opinion of Jill K B that it is a wrong concept. Nevertheless, if some people like it, why not. Now, if there would be the global option "Display full slide duration", and if this were unticked (which clearly would be the case in my projects), then it would fine (and I think also logical) if the status bar of the timeline view would not show any longer the (rather useless) parameter "full duration", but the classical "real duration". If you have ever tried to synchronize a fast sequence of images to the beats in the music, and if the transitions aren't cuts you would know what I am talking about.

  11. ... However, if you had the volume carefully set for a project and wanted to remove the points without upsetting the volume you have that option too with the way you described.

All that this "feature" preserves is a curve that is nothing but a straight horizontal line. There isn't much to preserve. And if you want to keep this line, why deleting the last keypoint?

Of course, there is a need for protecting the audio curve, but not that way. You can protect your tracks by locking them. But even in locked tracks you can accidentally delete or move keypoints with your mouse. Here, I would like to see some feature!

  12. What about "Clear Audio Keypoints" - does this do what you require?

Also I think that Ctrl+Z does what you want?

    DG

I do not require anything. Once I know that there is a logical bug in handling the keypoints, I can live with the situation, no problem. I look at it from a logical point of view. Once you have deleted something, it should not be there any longer. But Aleksy says that he wants to have cleared an already deleted point, oh no!

    jt

  13. Of course it is a feature. I wrote a special code for such behavior. The sound level is set to the last (deleted) point value.

But if you clear all points, there is no last point ...

When I was talking about a "feature", I was making a joke. Now the situation isn't funny: We can delete all points (and in my opinion this should mean that really none of them does exist any longer). Nevertheless the curve stays at some position, but there isn't a place where this is indicated. In this case we have the situation that no point exists, and we have to clear non-existing points in order to bring the curve back to the zero position. This isn't logical.

The last point that has already been deleted, should not be a need to clear it a second time. This will give rise for confusion. When I noticed this bug (and I still call it a bug), the last point sat at the zero level. After deleting this point the curve was hardly to be seen. It took some time until I could find it again.
