Changing Mask Image

This is great software and we would all like it to be perfect! Is this a small bug in ver 5.6?

Start with a new slide.

In O&A add a Mask, e.g. yyy.jpg.

Add an image in the container.

Now replace the Mask image with another one using Properties, Mask, e.g xxx.jpg

The new Mask image is activated but the display in the list of Objects does not get updated and stays - Mask(yyy.jpg) even if you close and open the slide again.

I think that you change the Mask.jpg in PROPERTIES and have to change its NAME in the COMMON tab?

This behaviour for the name of masks in objects list was already reported.

And Igor answers was :

Yes, I configured this behaviour because when you're editing already existing Mask it already can has unique name named by user.

As Dave already said, we have to modify the name manually.

Yes, but wouldn't it be nice to have a selectable option to either:

- keep existing name

- change name to reflect replacement

OK, it is a feature, not a bug. Thanks for the follow-ups.

As a fairly new user, I was just confused when I changed source jpegs for the mask, found that the change had been made but that the list of objects still gave the 'old' jpeg name. I use the list of objects constantly to swop jpegs in and out of slides. Now I have to check Properties, Mask, Open explorer to find the currently referenced mask. For other types of object the displayed name is updated as it is changed.
