Linking .MPG Movies

Hoot AL

I put together a small presentation. This is being burned onto a CD for distribution. There is a cover page and one slide.

On the slide there are a total of 4 objects. One object is a picture with a link to a .pdf file and works great. The other three objects are photos and each one is linked to a .mpg short 15 second movie.

The problem is when they are clicked on by the mouse, the Real Player will open, but the movie keeps trying to load and breaks up. The movie is running intermittently and the sound plays fine. What did I fail to do?

I followed the instructions in the Help section, but did not see this particular step on attaching movies. :(

Please advise. Thanks.

Welcome to this fun forum. Where you sometimes get expert advice - and sometimes just an attempt to help. Here is the latter. I really know not of this subject, but I would first confirm (as you may have already done) that Real Player plays the same video when it is not linked from PTE. Second thing might be to arrange to try a different player linked from PTE object. Let us know how you solve it.

AL,

It sounds like you may not have sufficient pc resources available to handle both the PTE show and the movie. Please give us some more details about your system (processor, RAM, OS, available HD space, etc.)

Also, what size is your PTE background image? Are you keeping the last slide on screen while you play the movies? Do you have any other programs running in the background while all this is going on?

Thank you for the prompt replies. The last slide is still displaying while the Real One Player pops up on the screen and starts running. The thing that is frustrating with Real One Player is it's difficulty in trying to load and then play. It will start the play and freeze the pane, while the sound continues. Then at the end, it will start all over again and try to play, only to freeze up a pane and the sound continues. Everything else on the slide works great.

I have a fairly new system, and I've tried it on other computers with same results. Just kinda frustrating.
