Is it possible to create your own menu template for PTE 5 and if so has anyone figured out how to do it yet.

Geoff

I am not quite sure what you mean here Geoff, can you please be more specific.

Geoff,

I guess you only have to create your own folder with your own buttons and background in \VideoBuilder\Templates.

I think you can copy an existing template (copy the folder) and create one easily.

There is an .ini file (option 4/3 and 16/9). Do not forget to change the parameters if needed.

May be Igor or Pavel can write a short tutorial ... ? ;)

Hi Ron I am trying to create my own DVD template for use in the DVD builder. There are several included templates, but it would be good to be able design your own, where you could vary the number and type of show links on each page. Dom as you suggested the .ini file seems to hold the key so I'll investigate that route, and yes a tutorial would be good.

Hello Geoff,

I agree with you on this one, the default templates in Video Builder are good but there is a need for being able to expand them. The Dom suggests using the .ini file route - this is probably not a good idea for anyone who is not totally computer literate though. If someone could provide me with the details of how such a menu can be created, I will be happy to try and produce a 'simplified' tutorial for everyones use.

Here is a tutorial that I found on the internet. I am not sure if it is what you are requiring, or if the finished article could be imported into PTE.

Not too sure if this is attaching itself to this link... :( First time I have tried it! If it has not attached itself I will try again

Hello Ednys,

Your attachment is working OK so you did it correctly.

I have looked at the tutorial, but I don't think that it will import into 'Video Builder'.

Ron,

If you want to make simple modifications, you can do it in the VideoBuilder Menu screen : you can change the background and Pan/zoom each object.

If you want to go a little deeper, in this menu, click on the "Templates" button and choose "Add template...".

It will create a duplicate folder of the template you choosed. Browse to where you created this template and modify the graphic elements in your graphic editor.

And only for specialists, they can study and mofify the Options_4_3.ini / OPtions16_9.ini files.

I think you can already do a lot of things with the first two options.

Hope it helps. :)

Thanks for the informations Dom. I have aleady said that. working in the .ini files is best left to the experts. Don't try to change anything unless you know what you are doing.

I think that what people will want to do is just modify the exiting options in Video Bulidet by, for example, adding more icons to run a show so that there is no need to keep going forward to the 'Next Page'.

I will investigate further the options that Dom has suggested.

Ron

Update: Igor has informed me that the DVD menus are going to be improved in a future version of PTE Video Builder (not in beta's) so we will have to wait for a while I guess because they are very busy at WNsoft at the moment.
