  1. Oh Dom, This is so clever. I cannot see how one would even start to do something like this. Brilliant. Glenys
  2. Lin, Thanks for your help. I have tried to do that by customizing the last slide as you suggested (if it is the last one that you meant). Both the exe files are on my pen drive, and I have tried it on my lap top. The first exe file is still stopping and not opening the second one. Now will it make a difference that the second .exe file has been made on an older version of PTE, that is why I am using run external application rather than slide show. I know it works on the main computer when I instructed it to find it on the drive etc. Although I have put the instruction into the customize part of the last slide to run the next application. Should I or should I not have the same instruction in the Project option more section. I do know that I could run them as two separate shows by just clicking on the second one when the first one has finished but I really wanted to try to get the second on to run straight off without that intervention by me. I may not be showing it. It may be another person... Glenys
  3. One other quick question if anyone can help. I have created my main exe file, but wish to finish be using a follow on exe file. I know how to tell the first file to run and external application, and it works as long as it is on the computer that it is created on. My problem is that it will be run on a different computer at the club and the first application will not be able to find the second exe file because I do not know what drive etc my pen drive will be on that other computer. Is there a way around this problem please? Thank you Glenys
  4. Thank you for your quick replies. Nobeefstu's method has worked. Great now I can get on Glenys
  5. Hello everyone. I am trying to create a rather complicated voice over for a short bit of fun I wish to create for our club. What I am trying to do is record a voice over with some added bits of sound effects, but, to help me get the main body of the voice over the right length etc I am trying to run the PTE show I am creating in preview mode and trying to record on Audacity at the same time. This is to help me get everything in the right place and leave the spaces for some additional sound effects. I start the preview in pte and then click record on Audacity this hangs the pte preview up. When I stop the record, pte carry's on. Is this to do with the two progs running at the same time? Is it to do with my computer? Is there a work around? or do I have to use my laptop to create the recording whilst playing the preview on the main computer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Glenys
  6. Thank you Peter. I realised that I had not unzipped the whole file. I got it working. The next thing I wish to see if I can do is save small extracts from a couple of older exe crations. Crazy thought I know, but I would like to be able to do that. I dont think this will be possible at the moment. I will just have to find the music, the photos and try to save the small amount of the music I require and put the particular images in and add it to the complete new cration I wish to do. I will have a big think about it. Glenys
  7. Sorry for such a basic question. I have not done anything in P2E for quite a long while but am determind to start again. I was using my laptop the other day and started to put a idea together, but I want to transfer the little bit that I did on the laptop to my main computer, as this is where I have all the images I wish to use. I have saved the images, Project file, and a zip file of the project as far as I had gone to my pen dirve and saved them to a new folder on the other computer. Now I cannot fathom out how to open my project on the main computer. I have copied the saved file to a folder on the new computer but it says it cannot find the images. It is looking for the images on a different drive to the ones I have on the main computer. Is there a way of changing this please? I hope this makes sense. I am sure this is something that someone can help me with. Thank you Glenys
  8. Hi Lin, That ran fine on my Nvidia 8800GT graphics card and Window 7. But I am scared. I have not used PTE for about 12 months or so and have just got back into seeing what has been going on with updates etc. I am intending doing some shows. But the things you can do with the program now are a bit scary, I dont know if I would ever be able to do a show like this one you have posted. I hope you still have plenty of tutorial on you website! Glenys
  9. I have been to Niagra three times over the years when I have visited our friends in Buffalo, but never braved a trip on these boats. Too clustraphobic for me. Glenys
  10. I have been asked by a friend if I can create a slideshow about a product that he produces. They are going to a trade show and he thought it might be a good idea to have one playing on a computer all day! I know that we can tick the box "Repeat show until ESC is pressed, but does anyone know if it will Loop indefinitley? I have told him he will have to make sure that the screen saver is off on the computer. Are there any other possible problems that anyone knows of? Thank you Glenys

    Hi, I have a Canon 5D. Glenys
  12. Thank you wideangle, I will have a fiddle around and try the sugestions you make. It certainly sounds much easier than the way I have started, with a note book and pencil making notes of every second and position...... Thanks again Oh yes it is V5 Glenys
  13. I have been asked if I can crate two shows, but both shows are to use the same movements in them. Strange I know! It is taking ages trying to write down all the times, positions, zoom sizes, etc etc. in show one to use in show two. Is there an easy way of saving that part of a show, ie pan, zoom settings etc like a template and then being able to use those same settings again with another set of pickies... Seeing as I have not found an easy answer so far, I knew of a forum that may be able to help, or tell me to forget it...... Thank you, Glenys
  14. It makes one realise how the years are creeping on, when you remember some of the events and people, but see how dated the photos look. Glenys
  15. Thank you Brian, Of course I didnt think of the memory and file swaping etc.. Glenys
  16. Hi, I tried this program and recorded the photoshop guys from photoshop user tv. The sound was out of sync with the movie. Now it could be the fact that I have found I have a problem with my internet connection and am waiting for a new modem. A slight lack of memory on this machine, or the fact that I may well have set it up all wrong. It worked well apart from this problem and even though it has an adjustor to try to sync the sound I could not make a success of it. I have not tried to use it since. It was quite straight forward to record the screen movie. If anyone has any idea about the settings for the sound syncing I would be interested to hear. I will try again when the new modem arrives. Glenys
  17. Whoa! Thanks for this topic, I did the free check with Regcure and found I have 943 problems in my registry... No wonder this machine runs like a ZX81! Not sure what I am going to do with it yet, I will talk to my son tomorrow and see if he has any progs to clean it up. If not I may have to pay the asking price. Glenys
  18. Thank you Dom for you christmas present. I will unwrap it the day after christmas. I look forward to trying out a couple of ideas that I have using the templates. Also A Happy Christmas to all on the forum. Glenys
  19. Thank you Lin for all the hard work you have put into devising this new document. I do feel seeing as the program is becoming so much more sofisticated that some form of documentation is now required especially for new users. I didnt realise there were so many keyboard shortcuts that could be used... Thanks again, Glenys
  20. Here is a tutorial that I found on the internet. I am not sure if it is what you are requiring, or if the finished article could be imported into PTE. Not too sure if this is attaching itself to this link... First time I have tried it! If it has not attached itself I will try again Regards Glenys Create_DVD_menu_in_photo.pdf
  21. Hi Lin, Is there an easy way to get all the buttons to line up in such straight rows and columns? Regards Glenys
  22. Thank you Lin, I will have a play around with the program until I get what I want. Regards Glenys
  23. Hi Lyn, Ok I downloaded your file and I noticed how you have given each slide about 20 seconds. But I did notice how they would still play on there own if you did not click the next slide soon enough. I will do this with my slides and will just have to remember to click pause if I find I am digressing whilst a particular slide is on screen, and I am going off the subject, or if someone starts to ask questions which I will be answering....... Other wise when I get back to the talk I may find the slides have moved on without me...... I obviously have to think in a different way when doing this kind of controlled show..... Thank you Regards Glenys
  24. Hi Ken, I did place a query onto the bugs page because I was not too sure if there was a bug with the navigation bar or not. As I said in that text the program still works on its own and the nav bar did not seem to have any control. I have just looked at your description here and tried controling the slides with the pause button and it held the slides as I wished. But I am a little perplexed Why have the navigation bar there if the only thing that appears to control it is the pause button.... I even tried deleting the timed point that were put into the timeline to see if that would allow me complete control.... Is this the same subject that you have been discussing in the previous texts?? or am I barking up the wrong tree again.... Regards Glenys
  25. Oh my goodness Tom, such a feat of expertise. not only with PTE, but photoshop as well. It also amazes me how you can think these wonderfull shapes and paterns up to put into the show. Well done Bravo
