I did not wanted to do a descriptive show , but tried to give an idea of the atmosphere in this place ... I love very much Hayley Westerna daniel

  15. No problem , Justin ! My readme PdF was not surely very expresive ....
  16. Thank you, Davy ! Justin : this delta is in the spanish mediteranean coast ; 300 km under the fronter with France .
  17. Thank you for your kind words , Ken . Bill : ride fields are not very numerous in occidental Europe ; I know in the Camargue ( south France ) , this delta , and especialy near from Valencia , in the Albufara ; this area is the country of the "paella" and a great number of other gastromy specialities . I think that Italy has too rice fields ....
  18. This delta is one of the largest wetlands in Europe. Many species of birds live there at certain times of their life. The exploitation of rice covers 20,000 hectare and is the main resource of this area. I made some pictures late September, and with them a slide show : 33 views , 4 mn 32 s 30 This slide show is hosted by Bill here A Mac version is here Constructive comments welcome . I thank to Nath and Patrick for their help and Bill for hosting .!
  19. Ken Since the first war , it is forbiden by a law to photography bridges , airports , hydroelectric factories , stations , tunels , and photography from the air .... Usualy , no problem until these last years into our occidental countries . But with the terrorism problem, as you said , many areas are forbidden, as airports . For the railways , I found these informations As Cici is a good boy , he obtained the posibility !
  20. "If I had considered my remark as inappropriate, I would not have posted it " I like your certainty , Xaver !
  21. "So what we are saying is it is OK to call someone 'thick' or 'grumpy old men' as long as it is not interpreted as an attitude of implied superiority or condescending." If you say me something as that , I shall go to my mirror and , honnestly , think "he is right , but he is a friend and he says that for my health "; and I shall do not answer , or say you that I do not like "your hair dresser ! An arrogant attitude in front of me takes me away 40 years and give me urticaria .... As Ken suggest , I shall try to "just ignore them " ...if my latin temperament allows . Thanks to Mortum , Ken and my particuliar translator , Patrick
  22. "we should couch them "as opinions" rather than in some implied condescending tone " "yet are couched as if they were somehow coming from one with an attitude of implied superiority" "The above is implicitly a condescending attitude as might be given by a "teacher" to a "student".... " etc ... Lin, I think that you have understood all the problem with the attitude of two or three persons ; I thank you to have put clearly this attitude in the light of a correct english language . Very good intervention, Lin !
  23. "not the first time in history" Yes , Jeff ; but in our recent history , in France , this is the only period where it was possible to sell a church in good state to be destroyed for the only reason of being a church ... Many statues were destroyed in front of churches . Also many were saved by inhabitants who hide them ... Cluny was easily destroyed because it was not in middle of houses or near of them ; in my town , Clermont Ferrand , they wanted to destroy the cathedral , but it was surrouded by houses : dangerous , and the problem was : where to put the stones ? This period was not a good one for our heritage ....
  24. "It just amazes me the workmanship that was accomplished with no power tools !" Yes , Ken , this is the good thing: they had developped the building knowledge and , over all , they have passed it to local populations . Thank you very much for your kind words . And thank you Cici ; one day with a good beer in Liège or here !
