  1. Jan, You can download a full PTE project, similar to what you want to achieve, just here : http://thedom.fr/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=54&view=view.download&catid=15&cid=95 I hope it helps. And if you need more help, do not hesitate.
  2. Hi David, This is a very interesting work. I really like to use sound effects, it's a good way to enhance the soundtrack. But I found most of your sounds a little bit oppressive. Is it possible to make something more cheerful? I tried to click on the link provided at the end of your demo and nothing happened. Is it on purpose because the website's not ready yet?
  3. Morasoft, I have a 16:10 screen (1920*1200) and the last exe (Warcraft) is not displayed in fullscreen on my monitor. Actually, for your templates, I recommend to always untick the option "Fixed size of slide (in pixel)" (in "Project Options" | "Screen" tab). This way, the slideshow will be fullscreen whatever the size of the user who will use your nice templates. After watching the exe (your last post), I guess you are a RTS gamer, right ?
  4. Ron, I didn't download the templates yet but I think you make a confusion. The dimensions of the images used in the template are small to make the package as small as possible. But the purpose of the template is of course to use your own images, whatever their resolution. The images can have the size you wish, depending on the resolution of your screen. For an HD TV, you can use 1920 pixels width images. About the ratio of the screen you mention (1920*1200), it's a 16:10 ratio. It means an image in 4:3 or 3:2 ratio MUST be cropped if you want it to fill the screen.
  5. I'm not sure it will present an interest for most of the members of this forum, but personnaly, I have a Sony Playstation 3. With the free software PS3 Media Server (http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/), I can play music, videos and watch pictures stored on the HD of my PC. I find this is the best solution for my need because I do not have to transfer/copy files. I can access them directly and immediately from the PS3. The playback on my TV of the MP4 generated with PTE in HD format is just perfect. As the software is supported by the MPlayer and FFmpeg packages, almost all the known audio/video/image formats are supported.
  6. The thoroughness, the right animation, the perfect tempo, the colors, the fonts used, the different layers... everything contribute to make a perfect AV show about this jazz band ! My left foot was beat rating when I watched it. Actually, I liked it so much that I watched it twice in a row. Congratulations for this huge amount of work and sharing your talent.
  7. Lin, i forgot to say that i admire your strength and your optimistic state of mind. We are really lucky to have such a member as you.
  8. Lin, i am deeply and very sincerely sorry for this cruel loss. I hope you can find as quick as possible sources of interest in your life before you two are together again.
  9. Congratulations to you and your team for this huge amount of work realized in such short time!! What an impressive list of new features! I just realized you added the "name of a slide" feature, I will test it. It's very useful. So, what's next ? Go in vaccation or will you stay in bed for a week ?
  10. Hi, actually, I think you experienced probably without knowing the parent-child feature. If you don't want the objects to interact with each other when you pan/zoom one of them, you have to be careful to create each object as an independant object (1st level object). Right now, when you create a new object, if you do not click on an empty space in the objects list, it is created as a child object. Most of the time, the new object will be created as a child object of your main image. The result looks like this : MAIN IMAGE ! +--- New object Actually, in your case, you want the objects to be at the same "level" MAIN IMAGE New object
  11. Thanks! I didn't want the animation to look flat. To try to make it realistic, I put a lot of attention into the little details and the choice of the textures.
  12. Faultless!! The pictures have a huge sharp depth. I guess you took them big a big aperture (20 or even more ?) and a tripod ? There is a smooth nostalgia and at the same time a lot of serenity and peace that emerge from your slideshow. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.
  13. In the same spirit as my previous demo of chest box I posted one week ago, here is an other 3D animation. This time, it's a kind of photo box.
  14. Hi Eric, I undestand that people continue to make 4/3 screen ratio slideshows because it's the ratio of a lot of compact cameras and they don't want to crop the images. But why do you use this 5/4 aspect ratio ? I guess it's the ratio of your screen. But it doesn't correspond to a picture ratio. You have to crop your pictures, right ? Just curious to know.
  15. Hi Jeff, I downloaded your project, may be I missed something in you explanation but I don't understand what you tried to make with this text mask. There is no image in the mask container. The point of a mask is to reveal an image through this mask. You don't see your title when you preview the show because there is no image to reveal. What you see in the O/A are the transparent pixels which materialize the mask. I added an image in your mask container to show you what I mean. I hope it helps. test_Jul28-2010_11-36-14.zip
  16. With this template, you can simulate the type writer for the text of your choice. There are two different versions : - Modern version - Nostalgic version Please download the demos for a much better output quality. - Modern version - Nostalgic version The template is available here. Instructions en français ici.
  17. Barry, One of my friend make movies of our trips to see the eclipses. Generally, it's a two hours show. He mix HD video clips, photographies, music and sounds (recorded during the trip) and the result is really great! But I agree with you, even if he's not a professional, he really has a great sense of composition and taste. That's what make the final result so good.
  18. Hello David, May be it's not exactly what you want but there is an option within PTE : for each last slide of your slideshows, go to Customize Slide and in the Main tab, tick Run exernal application and browse your HD to find the slideshow you want to start. In addition, you can make a Menu with PTE. There will be in this menu as many chapters as different slideshows you have. Actually, this Menu is a standard PTE project. On a slide, you put your thumbnails corresponding to your chapter. For each of those image objects, in the Objects and Animation window, in the Common tab, choose "Run slideshow..." as Action on mouse click. If the user want to see directly the third slideshow, he will click on the image corresponding to this chapter. It's really easy to make.
  19. Thanks! I had really a wonderful trip in Iceland. Incredible and very exotic compared to France. I took more than 1500 photos. The one in the demo was taken in Dyrholaey. Really a wonderful place! I have to make a selection of my best/most representative photos and I will complete the slideshow...
  20. Here is a complete animation of a chest box I just finished. It uses intensively the 3D feature of PTE. Most of the shadows are animated in real time and the box is made with 6 simple rectangular shapes. There are 68 objects in the main slide (including a picture 1920x1280) but it should run smoothly. The archive includes two demos with different kind of chest box. Comments welcome.
  21. Very nice example of animated gif in action!
  22. Hi Barry, I have never tried but what happens if you tick this option with 1920x1080 and : - your pictures are 1024 px width - your screen is 1024 px width I guess PTE will make an upscale to 1920x 1080 and your graphic card will make a downscale to 1024 px ? It would mean two changes of resolution and an increase of quality ? Just curious to know.
  23. If the purpose is to create a mask, I think it can be done quicker. - Create a new transparent image sized at 1920x1080 pixels - select this layer - Change the canvas size to 1920x1440 - inverse the selection - use the Paint Bucket to fill the selection with black I don't have Photoshop installed on the PC I am using right now. I can't confirm I'm right.
  24. Ken, to be honest I don't know if you're serious or making fun of this request. But I am afraid to "integrate PixBuilder software" into PTE is not a piece of cake. Actually, there would be a real interest only if the adjustments are dynamic (associated to keypoints). What I have in mind is by example to have the ability to turn a photo from greyscale to color (instead of having to manage two different image pictures - one colored and the other greyscaled - like we do right now). Personnaly, I would be ready to pay the price for an other licence for the optional pictures adjustements (something like "PTE extended"...).
