  1. Thank you too for this presentation. It really was quite moving. J G
  2. Welcome atomiton, I was intrigued by your post in search of wedding songs - here are some suggestions that have worked well for me: We've Only Just Begun - the Carpenters Stephen Curtis Chapman songs are usually very good... or one of my faves is this one (please excuse if I indulge and post the lyrics for you) from this Dean Martin song (some of the older songs are the best ). ---------------------------------- Memories Are Made Of This ---------------------------------- (sweet, sweet memories you gave-a me you can't beat the memeories you gave-a me) Take one fresh and tender kiss Add one stolen night of bliss One girl, one boy Some grief, some joy Memories are made of this Don't forget a small moonbeam Fold in lightly with a dream Your lips and mine Two sips of wine Memories are made of this Then add the wedding bells One house where lovers dwell Three little kids for flavor Stir carefully through the days See how the flavor stays These are the dreams you will savor With His blessings from above Serve it generously with love One man, one wife One love through life Memories are made of this Memories are made of this ---------------------------------- J G
  3. Dear Igor, Thank you for all your hard work. Here's a suggestion - it would be very useful to be able to do a smooth back-to-back fade. It's difficult to do a fade-in followed by an immediate fade-out at the moment without jitter problems. What would be nice is an in-and-out automatic (with variable time ofcourse). I have an effect I want to try at the moment (pulsing third image idea) which is difficult at present, even with the excellent NEW transitions of v4.20 Many thanks. J G
  4. Ken, Thanks, good advice. And free too! No less valuable for that though J G
  5. Mike, What file splitting program was it you used? As there is no way that a 15Mb file would reach Bill. I tried that first before I knew about the upload page. Many thanks, J G
  6. Chaps, You have been very gracious in trying to accomodate my frustrations - thank you! Hope it's worth it when you view my efforts Will enjoy trying to resolve the issues from here too. Bill - thanks again. I think your site is terrific and I often visit for inspiration and information! Keep keeping the faith! J G
  7. Thanks for the input Ron, Hmmm interesting, although I have uploaded the same files to another site [but actually an ftp:// address] without any problems. But then of course I get a little window that tells me the progress and even the time to completion, so that I feel informed. I don't get this helpful screen from Beechbrook, though so I'm inclined to think that it's something at their end. Especially since the message 'not the right type' appears on a Bbrook style wb page. Wonder why us UK bods are having such problems then (?) Bill says he gets all other info but not the actual whopping file (with all the presentation goodies in it). Ahh well. Maybe one day we'll see each others work, eh Ron? J G
  8. Hi Gang, Have already had some communication w Bill.. but I've not yet been able to upload my 15Mb presentation to the Beechbrook site. Any pointers? After clicking the 'upload' button, not much happens to tell me that I'm rocking and rolling (my Firewall shows me that communication is happening) then aftera long pause (understandibly w a 15M upload [150k broadband]) I get told that my file is 'not of the correct type'. Naturally, I dispute this because it is a .zip file (with the requested 120x80 .jpg included in the zip). I'm a little frustrated and exhausted (at point of 'give up') so any wisdom out there to help? Anybody had the same types of problems? - need comfort - feeling persecuted Much appreciated. J G
  9. Barry, This is a very good CD and I felt it was good value for money. Very well done!! I would love to quiz you sometime on some of the techniques you used to produce it, especially the realtime style mouse movements and clicks. Just the way it should be done. Many thanks for your professional product. JG
  10. Once again, Leslie, welcome, I am new to all this AV wizardry, but can completely endorse the above comments. The forum is a great resource and a great place to hang-out and learn. The software is very good too, and it's very easy to become an enthusiast when our contributions and comments are so readily accepted by the developer. I like that PS I'm not on commision, either Enjoy your stay. JG
  11. Al, Thanks for the encouragement. I think I will post my efforts (once I'm happy enough with it) just some final tweaking and I'd be happy to post at 80% satisfaction. [it always seems that the final tweaks take longer than the bulk of the work - may be that's just the perfectionist in me ] If you think that a faster PC would make a difference, then I'll just have to get one (great excuse ) I'll tell my wife you said so However, it is good to know that the presentation will run on most any other machine as 'God intended' - so having it road tested for public consumption is a good thing... even if the licencing issue becomes a hurdle. Thanks for the offer of assistance - be gentle with me! (Only my 4th serious attempt with P2E) Look forward to learning more from your experience, though. So seriously, in anticipation, thanks. J G
  12. Wow! Half a second really? I'm surprised, that seems awfully far apart.. but perhaps I need to down-size my images. I thought 150-200kB was reasonably conservative, but I'm learning all the time I have made some quite successful close transitions, particularly where there is no fade effect involved, it seems to be the 'fade' that botches things up for me. The thing to remember is that when synch-ing with music, it is quite often the beat which dictates the timing of the change. P2E is quite good at this on the whole, so my disappointment is perhaps due to pushing boundaries of the sofware. Or mybe Igor could work on this Make me very happy. Thanks for the tips though. I'd like to post a sample presentation, to let you see what I mean, but am not sure about the copyright thing.. not using Royalty Free... Would this be ok for private viewing? JG
  13. Patrick, Congratulaions too, some really tasty transition ideas.. I particularly liked the two ladies in the boat and the blurring image - might pinch that idea Nice Job - must have taken you a few hours!! J G
  14. Thanks Ed - that's all excellent advice. The problem I'm having is slap-bang in the middle of the pres. - but I learned too, as you did, that an intro (blank) at the start helps things. Not least in cue-ing up on a computer and giving the AV operator time to flip the the button on the projector remote (which never works first time!). I checked the file sizes of my images around the 'twilight zone' in my presentation and all (except one of 202kB - a minor extravagance ) comply with your very wise file size rule.. Thanks for the post - it's good to know that "great minds think alike". [sadly: "fools seldom differ", or so I'm told ] PS I have tried the new #7 BETA version, but the problem still exists. My PC isn't too slow 750MHz (but graphics are on the Motherboard which is never so good) J G
  15. This is one for you more experienced P2E'ers. While trying a new effect in the middle of my existing presentation, I discovered, rather disappointingly (oh for a spell checker! ).. that when the timeline tells me the transition has finished, in fact it hasn't when I do the FULL preview. The result is a messed up presentation where the music continues but the pictures seem to lag for 10 seconds or so, and then catch up again. In the smaller preview window (with the time-line) all seems ok. I wonder if this is my graphics card, however, P2E doesn't like transitions too close to each other it seems. Does anyone else (also living in the ideal world ) think that perhaps WYSIWYG should apply to the time-line transition bars. That would be most nice. J G
  16. Hi Folks, I use P2E with great success to do presentations to Music (hope to show some presents. soon on Beechbrook) However, one of my main frustrations is moving and duplicating multiple slides... When doing images to songs, lyrics often repeat (e.g.chorus) and it would be really great to duplicate whole groups of slides instead of having to re-position them in the time-line all over again. Has any one else come up with a solution? I would really like to have this feature!! Yours JG
  17. Hi Guys, Apologies - I seem to have resolved the problem I was panicking about earlier! What seems to have happened was this: I was attempting to introduce some slide sounds on top of the background music. I realised that this was not going to work, so removed the sound file for the slides. Sadly I neglected to also un-tick box which says "play new background music files" on one of the slides buried deep within my presentation! After trawling through every slide customisation - I eventually found the offending bod! This does however raise a technical question.. If individual slides cannot have their own noises - why should not P2E disable this option when a sound track is used from start to finish? Just a thought. Sorry to scare - monger with this topic, but I do value the support you guys give out here!! I'll be a bit more attentive next time. Thanks. JG
  18. Dear Friends, I have a problem. My longstanding P2exe presentation has started to give me the following message: "ERROR: You should to disable personalized music of slides to activate synchronisation by music" I don't know where this has come from and I don't fully understand what it is telling me! Obviously I have altered something without realising it. The presentation has been running fine since November last year - I was just trying out a few new ideas. HELP. Yours, JG
  19. Thanks for the tip Mike - will give it a go. JG
  20. Hi Folks, This is my first time here - am quite excited about the uses of P2E However, while using have been frustrated by the limited slide transitions - and really want to do much more interesting stuff with my presentations. It may be unfair that I'm comparing P2E to MediaSHow (prefer P2E, actually!) but some more transitions would be very useful. For example, have some photos of a 'freeze' painted by kids and wanted pictures to move left to right with a sliding transition. Could then stitch the photos together digitally and make 360 degree style presentation. Anyone know if my frustrations will be vanquished in future releases? (PS Have emailed Wnsoft with same question - no joy yet sadly Regards, JG
