Started experimenting following Jills post and my first experiment in the previous post. It looks as if you have to do a replace audio file for each segment. Seems to work but a bit long winded, especially if you have a lot of segments as I do in this particular AV..

Hi rosy. Not ignoring you but wanted to explore Jills suggestion.

It doesn't seem to work. I select the first segment and do the 'replace' track. It just seems to change the first segment. I have attached the screen shot. You can see PTE has changed the first segment but left the other segments un touched. Mike

Thanks for the feedback. I would like to be able to apply the new equalisation to the voice track only. Not the fx or music tracks. Is it possible to export just a specific track, my example the track I use for the voice over? I have looked and cannot see how. As for modifying the original track in Audacity, yes I could do that with master voice track but I cannot see how it can then be dropped back into PTE to replace an audio track which has been split into segments as part of the editing process. I have attached a screen shot showing how my voice track is split into segments by editing in PTE.

One one of my AV's I want to change the equalisation on my voice over. If my voice track was one continuous track it would be easy. I'd take it back into Audacity and re-equalise the sound and drop it back into PTE, but as a result of editing in PTE my sound track is split into many, many segments and in some cases I have removed words and sentences. As well as altering relative sound levels. Is there any way I can do this without starting again in Audacity and repeating the whole editing process in PTE?

Hi Tom, Thanks for your suggestion. As usual there are many ways of achieving the same result! It will be interesting to see if my solution still works when Affinity next produce an update and change the version number. Mike

I seem to have found a solution after doing some more research on the Affinity forum. It would seem that I wasn't alone in needing to launch an 'App' from within an application. Managed to find an extensive set of posts on the Affinity forum. It seems to stem from the fact that Affinity Photo 2 now installs as a Windows App. It would seem that PTE will not locate and run a Windows App as such and will only run standard executables. (Igor is this an issue for PTE?) as a result you can't set it as your default graphical editor. But pasting the following path link into PTE works for me. I am am unable to browse to and then insert the path when using PTE but I can copy the path from file explorer and then paste it into PTE and it seems to work. Thanks Igor and Jill. Tried setting the external editor to ON1 PR 2023 and it works perfectly, but I prefer to use Affinity photo for my edits when in PTE. The executable is in installed in the WindowsApps folder and despite rebooting and resetting the path and also 'unhiding' the WindowsApp folder it still refuses to work. I can run the file directly from within the folder structure and obviously via my Start menu. I wonder if now Affinity Photo is installed as a its a 'WindowsApp' rather than a standard install executable if its folder access permission issue. Have done the reboot etc. as suggested. Have checked the WindowsApp etc. folder permissions and what I think is the user (ie PTE) is allowed to read and execute the code so not sure what's going on. I did have problem with permissions when first installing Affinity Photo 2 which was different from Affinity Photo 1 in that it didn't use a standard .exe installer file and installed the file in the WindowsApp rather than in an Affinity folder. So still mystified. I will continue to look into this.

I have been using the latest version of PTE11 with the latest version Affinity 2.0.3 (the App version) set as my graphical editor but the editor refuses to open. I have reset the path details in PTE prefs. but no effect. I had problems installing Affinity as Serif don't offer a exe file to load and use an App from MS Store. I am certain Affinity 2.0.3 was working as the graphical editor with the Beta versions. Affinity 1 was certainly working without a problem. I am running latest W11 pro. Everything else seems OK on PTE. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have a simple AV which has been created in PTE V11 (not that I think has any bearing on my problem) I also use Windows. It is a single landing page which has hotlinks to many AV's, the files ( a mix of mp4 and .exe) of which are in the same folder as the .pte and its .exe files. Basically its so I can show a programme at my club and select AV's from the hotlinks. At the end of each AV it goes back to the landing page. It works on the PC I created it on. I transfer it to my laptop and it isn't working because the paths are different on my PC compared to my laptop. I edit the paths and solve this problem on the laptop. But I want to transfer the AV and the AV files to a 3rd PC - our club PC. Is there an easy way to do this so I don't have to edit the path names every time I transfer the landing page AV and the files to another PC, especially as I don't have PTE on the 3rd PC? I am sure its extremely obvious and apologies if this has been answered elsewhere?

A friend has some AV's produced on V10.xxx but the AV's wont play on his elderly WinXP laptop, although AV's he created some years ago - way before V10 still play. The error message he gets when trying to run the latest .exe files is - 'This is not a a valid W32 application'. I am assuming this is because his latest AV's, made in V10, are not compatible with Win XP(32bit) . I did suggest he needs a new laptop! Notwithstanding my suggestion might there be some other explanations that may help?

Eureka. Many thanks for such a prompt answer. I now I have a way forward! I've been using P2e for over 10 years and didn't know you could do that cut, paste and edit trick with a spreadsheet and p2e objects. PS I've just tried this using LibreOffice Calc and its works OK should anyone be interested.

I have a project I am working on where I am looking into animating a lot of objects >200 in one frame. Each object would have a unique start and finish cordinate. Animating this number of pobjects via the standard animation window is a very long task and I wondered if anyone had built any (or knew of any) tools that might simplify this task, if not I'll go to Plan B!

Hi can anyone help. I am one of those people who do not use Excel, only LibreOffice which doesn't support VBA macros. I really could do with a spreadsheet like the pteinfo function. Has anyone any suggestions? Thanks in anticipation, Mike
