A useful addition in my opinion would be an addition to the right click sub menu in the timeline which would enable you to right click on a slide any where in the timeline and choose select to end, thus selecting everything to the right of the chosen slide. Geoff

Thanks Tom that worked but flashed back to the desktop between shows. I'm trying to get a PTE 5 intro sequence to trigger a PTE 4.48 menu exe, think I'll have to wait until run exe is enabled in PTE5.

Has anyone come up with a workaround to run an exe file at the end of a PTE5 show, until it is implimented in a later version? Geoff

Hi Mike Winrar is also very good, can create either rar files or zip files, and also several other formats. regards Geoff

Hi Ken hope you are keeping well, thanks for your time. I have managed to get 4 on a page and shrunk them down so in theory there is room for 4 more on the same page but I can't find a way of adding the extra shows to that page. regards Geoff

Hi Ray thanks but thats not what I meant, what I am trying to avoid is having a multiple page menu by getting between 6 and 8 shows on each menu page. Hope that explains it a bit clearer. regards Geoff

Thanks for your comments Keith and Ron. Keith I agree that the spoken words could have been a bit louder compared to the background music in places, but I'm glad you enjoyed the sequence overall. Ron I agree also that if this was a competition AV then I would not have broken the poem into sections, and would have approached someone with a voice more suited to reading poetry than my own. However the AV was made as part of a collection of AV's for showing to non photographic and non AV audiences, where I have to say that it has been very well recieved. Whether that says something about the what we as AV workers demand of our own and other peoples AV's could be an interesting debate. I have a similar problem as this with DVD created with beta 8r where my toshiba DVD player says that the disc is not PAL DVD even though all the settings for DVD in PTE5 b8r were for PAL output. Disc plays with no problem on a panasonic DVD player. Geoff

Igor had a strange problem burnt a disk on DVD-R disk with all the correct settings for Pal DVD when I tried to play it in a Toshiba DVD player it said it was not a PAL disk Tried it in a panosonic DVD player and it worked fine. This was using beta 8r any suggestions please. Hi nct welcome to the forum I use a freeware app called ShelExec available here http://www.naughter.com/shelexec.html copy this to the root of your CD and create an autorun inf like this [autorun] open=ShelExec.exe What to run.exe save this into the root of your cd also substituting your own exe for what to run.exe I produced a multi show CD earlier this year which was duplicated 500 times for our camera clubs national exhibition and not one failed to run. hope this is of some help Regards Geoff

Hi Igor tried with both +R and -R at 4x write speed both times got the same problem burnt to 99% and then just locked up needed re-boot to unlock DVD Drive I'm using winxp pro Regards Geoff

Hi Bruce do you have Roxio installed on your system? I have the same problems as you using the latest beta version of PTE5. If as I suspect PTE makes use of the Nero burning engine there is a well documented conflict between the two, which could be causing the problems. Would suggest that you create the DVD files on your hard drive using PTE, and then burn them to disc using your prefered burning app. regards Geoff

Ian have you used voice over soundtracks or just music?

Please add sound sync to PTE 5 as soon as possible, as I'm sure that people like me who use voice-over sound tracks are put off using and therefor learning and testing the new version because the sound and slides in created exe files are so far out of sync, as to make it not worthwhile doing them.

Thanks Ken I tried that, but the show has music in it and each time you use the arrow keys the timing goes wrong, the arrow keys move the pictures, but not the music. regards Geoff

I want to give the viewer of an atutomatic slideshow the ability to pause, restart, and to go forward or back one slide, with key strokes rather than showing the control panel. Is this possible, and if it is would appreciate knowing how. This is for PTE 4.48, not new version 5. many thanks Geoff
