  1. I dont think this statement is correct "Locally from your current DVD player ( the one hooked to your TV, I would suggest taking a quick look at the manual/internet to make sure of the formats it supports). MOST can play / read DVD+R format BUT FEWER can play DVD-R." SEE http://www.americal.com/pg/dvd-r-faq.html http://www.videohelp.com/dvd http://www.askdavetaylor.com/whats_the_dif...and_dvdram.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-R my 6 dvd players will all play either type of disk but if you get a burner that comes with a blank dvd+r disk it may be partial to that type of disk -- so if you make a master dvd+r disk nothing is stopping you from copying it to a dvd-r disk ken
  2. Patrick guess you missed it oh oh -- APRIL FOOLS DAY:) KEN
  3. fonz see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3992 I just made a custom avi using Jeff's recommendation "The results of these tests show that the only codec that produces satisfactory results is the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2. If this is selected via the "Custom" option in PTE, then a permanent AVI file results." and same worked perfectly, then checked it with my GSpot proggie and it found no errors. ken
  4. Raydene you do not say what country you are from so I use nero 6.6 suite - not the bundled piece that generally comes with a dvd drive "hawk" uses the latest version 7 suite and has updated it a couple times we are both happy with the software and is quite user friendly in Canadian dollars it runs +- $100 + taxes 15% dvd players to connect to tv are as low as $35 + tax my 2-3 year old dvd players all play the dvd's i make whatever pocketbook will bear:) ken
  5. if you friend did not make a permanent avi -find out how he made the avi - if he gave you a copy of the temp avi you will not be able to play it ken
  6. FYI SEE http://docs.sonic.com/06-0320_mar_newslett...sdmh=dm15.78207 and I understand Nero's 7 suite is also ready for Blu-Ray ken
  7. well i forewarned Ron to put on a face mask and to take 3 xtra strength bird flu virus pills whilst i was explaning to him how to staighten up a problem we were discussing I think that will keep him safe ken
  8. he likely took it down after being insulted ken

  10. Many moons ago i believe i recommended members to vist this site http://www.photo.net/photodb/presentation?...ation_id=188714 "Mark Plonsky by M. Plonsky, Ph.D. This article will explain the techniques I use to take bug pictures. Macro Photography Tutorial" my grandkids and others were bug eyed with the vcd i made of his shots -- and the quality is great on tv ken

  12. we really should have started a new thread for this test for Ronnie ken i put the 3 full screen shots on the desktop then from the forum web page http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....post&f=2&t=4173 i browse to my desktop and then i had to pick each one and click add this attachment then when i had all 4 added i then i had to add each "add into post" then add reply
  13. Ron try http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=xp+con...wont+show&meta= ken
  14. not trying to be smarta__ but i guess i was lucky that paricular day i think i encircled the originals and clicked add to web page really not something i do every day, but think the feature is one of the most important additions that the forum has -- too bad more would not use it when trying to solve problems - as you know a picture is worth a thousansd words. Hawk in his determination to baffle me has be sending me swf files from nero showing how to's that are available -- too bad Igor's resources does not allow him to make up swf files showing how to get an avi into video ken
  15. Ron reboot ken
  16. felcourt11 did you have a question? i dont have a problem making dvd's from p2e i have made enough test dvd's i could likely shingle my house -- in fact the "hawk" has volunteered his if i dont have enough -- but i cant get up on the roof any more:) all the vcd / svcd's that i made in the beginning are just taking up space but i still have all the important mpeg2's i made with winavi and TMPGEnc on the drives so i can easily import them into nero 6.6 suite and make a dvd if the need arises -- the problem being i had to change my complete philosophy of scanning pictures and putting together shows as we progressed in our learning curve to make shows suitable fot viewing on tv or with a projector setup I have had to give a lot of disc's away and do a lot of things for people in order to have testing facilities available, education is very costly ken ken
  17. worth the wait must'ave been the trip the pub that gave you the persistance:) ken
  18. we already have the forum for avi's it is called How to create video located here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showforum=4 ken
  19. you just had a brain shimmer and the pint's straightened you out k
  20. JEB i have found it also helps if you try the techie stuff before the visit to the pub - or the 3 pints before lunch your download is a trial if there is no reg key so xfer the proggie and the key and install the key cheers and have a few for me, none for yourself then you can blame it on me:) ken
  21. you can zip the exe but you and the person you are sending to must have the isp's not limit the size of the file so check with your isp and the person you want to send to what the limits are the next thing you have to do is make sure you both have systems that will allow sending attachments - anti virus - firewall etc must all be compliant ken
  22. put the program on a floppy and load it on laptop, and the same with your reg key now it is possible to network the 2 computers - - network neighbourhood see hl=en&q=network+neighbourhood+xp+&btnG=Google+Search&meta= i will let somebody else explain it -- i had a tech do my 2 ken
  23. there has been no mention of a sound editor -- p2e stays small so the program will fit on a floppy and is easier on the wallet, 'tho Igor says the price is going up ken there has been no mention of a sound editor -- p2e stays small so the program will fit on a floppy and is easier on the wallet, 'tho Igor says the price is going up ken
  24. if you registered it with a bought key it will still be registered on your main system you just have to install the latest version on top of the 443 see http://www.guru.to.it/en/tips/regkey_en.htm also do a search of forum for more tips re registering ken ps save all the letters/correspondance re registration to a cd or floppy and put in safe place
  25. Lin after Jeff had brought the subject up i had got the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 at http://www.free-codecs.com/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack_download.htm after i had searched of all of ms codecs links from what i have read it is an old codec that has since been updated -- same was not on my system at the time but it does the job -- i had a 4.5 gb avi file that one son in law had made that would not run until the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 was installed thks ken thks
