  1. In PS CS2, "File Browser" is now called "Adobe Bridge". (see attached). To access it, click on the magnifying glass icon at the top right.
  2. Keith, I haven't noticed a difference in sync between successive runs, but there is a difference of about 1/2 to 1 sec. between the timeline preview and the regular preview (and "exe" version).
  3. Johannes, I'm afraid that you will have to use at least 2 images - one for the background, and one to zoom in on. Also, when zooming, it is best to use an image which is already at the maximum zoomed size, then zoom out to start, and then start the zoom. This reduces the artifacts, noise, etc., which you see at the maximum zoomed position.
  4. JudyKay, I wouldn't try that if I were you. I won't even touch one of my lenses with those brushes they sell in camera stores - they tend to pick up dust and/or grease over time, and transfer this onto the lens. Unless it is a specially prepared applicator for pc sensor chips, I would not take a chance. The blower bulb that comes with those brushes is fine, and that is all that I use, except that for lenses, I also use special lens-cleaning paper to remove grease, etc., from the lens surface. Not for sensor chips, though - they are very delicate and difficult to clean.
  5. Ian, Thanks for posting. This is great news - congratulations to Johan. This was my favourite AV production of the RPS competition in Cirencester in September, so I happy to hear he has won with it.
  6. Hi, Maureen, Good to hear from you and hear that you survived the Adelaide competition judging (the "Aussies" can get get pretty upset when the "Pommies" come down and criticize their work! ) By the way, you don't have to delete the pathnames, as long as the files are all in the same folder - PTE will find them, even if the pathnames are wrong. Also, Igor modified PTE v.4 in the last year or so to be able to "follow" the new path to images even if you move the folder to another drive or new location on your HD. Good luck on the rest of your southern adventure - I hear that it is pretty hot and dry there right now - better stay near the ocean!
  7. Dom, I'm not sure I understand you. There is a "slide list" on the main window of PTE, and an "object list" on the "O&A" window. I presume you are referring to the latter. Can't you make a note of what "level" the object was on before you deleted it, and then copy the new object to that same level? Otherwise, you have to use the "send to back" and "bring to front" commands to position it in relation to other objects on the same level.
  8. Ray, All the best - I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your fine photography and AV productions in the future!
  9. Ray, Well said! I, too, worked in the corporate meat-grinder for years, and know exactly what you are talking about. As you point out, PTE is WnSoft's product, but, even so, they have bent over backwards, with their limited resources, to meet our required and/or desired features. PTE is already a superior product as it is, and even v.5 is capable now of making possible wonderful on-screen productions, as we are already seeing in the special effects and new productions of JP and Lin and Dom and Tomuk and Keith and Stephane and Morasoft and Ebenist and several others whose names I can't remember offhand. The good news is that PTE is steadily becoming better and better. I, too, can wait for the finished product, whenever Igor is prepared to release it.
  10. John, This is what I have been using, too, with my nikons, and have found it to be quite effective so far. I can appreciate that under certain conditions of humidity, or high static electricity, though, the dust could be difficult or next to impossible to remove without special equipment. I find it almost impossible to keep the sensor perfectly clean, and so have reconciled myself to having to do a certain amount of retouching to the images after a shoot, especially to the sky or other areas of minimum texture. I have heard that with some digital projector designs, dust can accumulate on the chips to the point where the only option is to send them to the dealer for cleaning. Of course with digital projectors, there is another factor in play - that of high temperatures.
  11. bluebear, Welcome to the Forum! It sounds like you may have a corrupted music file, or one which is copy-protected. Tell us a little more about the music you are using, the image file types and sizes, and the other Project Options parameters you are using in your show. Did you try making a small test show, with different mp3 files, to see if you get the same results? I presume you meant version 4.48 (not 4.8). The "Create slideshow as" function is working fine in version 5.
  12. Here is an attempt at a translation of Gabriel's post: Hello, Morasoft, I finally found the page. I had seen the presentations "Teide 1, 2 and 3". Very good, but I would like a version without the Warner. I enjoyed the presentation "Paris Hilton" because it does not leave time to become bored. Good rate and dynamic. Excuse me, I don't speak English.
  13. Bernard, Thanks for sharing the underwater show with us. I can see why you love to dive - especially where you can find so many interesting and colourful sea creatures to photograph.
  14. Steve, I couldn't agree with you more! You have laid it out very logically and convincingly.
  15. I suspect Igor is leaving it there for those whose intention is only to make pc-based slideshows, and want the images to be the same size as the originals.
  16. Keith, There are some more sounds here: http://www.findsounds.com/types.html , and http://www.grsites.com/sounds/misc001.shtml .
  17. That's a real coincidence! Must be a popular subject for photographers. I know I wouldn't be able to resist it!
  18. Ragnar, Synch to music is not completely activated yet in v.5 so this could also be affecting your particular example. By the way, I recognized your image - are you with the Wantage Camera Club, by any chance? It's identical to one included in the entries to the "Trans-Atlantic Challenge" between Wantage and Camera Club of Ottawa coordinated by Ian Bateman and myself. Interesting image!
  19. Ragnar, It could be a bug. I replaced your silence file with an mp3 file of my own, and it locked up at the first slide. Then I replaced it with two shorter files, of total length 39 sec, and it ran fine. Play around with different music files and change the durations of the slides and see if anything helps. Igor is making some modifications to the music player for beta 9, so maybe the new version, once it is released, will solve this problem.
  20. Yes, a PTE "exe" file can be saved to a "flash" memory card. You can even run the file directly from the memory card. Don't be afraid to experiment a little to ensure your laptop and/or usb port, and flash memory, etc., have the performance requirements to run the "exe" files satisfactorily.
  21. Ron, is THIS the thread that was "deleted"? If so, it has just been un-pinned and so moved back a few pages as it was last replied to some time ago.
  22. Jan, Welcome to the Forum! Re the O&A "play" preview, you need to create a second keypoint by highlighting the keypoint rectangle, clicking on the "+" button, and then changing the properties for it, by highlighting it, selecting the "animation" tab, and either entering different values in the text boxes provided, or moving or zooming or rotating the image by clicking and dragging with the mouse. You can drag the second keypoint over to the end of the timeline to spread the effect over the entire image duration. See example below.
  23. Bill, This is a great idea - thanks for providing this useful feature. I think in most cases additional notes would be invaluable in providing a greater understanding of the background behind the AV productions, and thank-you for making them more prominent on the page so we remember to use them.
  24. JP, HERE is an example of a cube made with Flash technology. Not nearly as smooth as your examples. (please note that I have no affiliation with the companies sponsoring the commercials).
  25. Thanks for the info, Ian. By the way, you can download Stephane's excellent sequence HERE (posted Dec. 18 or 19).
