Try using the 'Auto Spread' music to slides rather than the Synchronise feature in Project Options. It works for me.

Just a thought, why not take Firefox with you to work on a flash drive. http://portableapps.com/ Have used couple of these portable apps myself on occasion and they work fine. I know a couple of people locally who use Firefox at work regularily because of restricted access. Portable Firefox allows them to surf securely and when closing down it leaves no footprint., that's their excuse anyway. I'm long retired so don't have to use naughty methods to access my favourite sites. Nathan.

I have considered downloading Firefox in the past and may do again. However, BTYahoo's browser, although based on IE7, has much to offer and does compare with Firefox from what I have read regarding security and other features built in. Even to a built in Norton Antivirus in the webmail section. It's a rare event for me to use IE7 on it's own. Thanks for your suggestion though, it's appreciated.

Ken, noted your point on the browser setting. I use BTYahoo's browser which is based on IE7 with a personalised home page and security settings. PM sent. Thank you, your help is appreciated. In the PM I mention downloading White Sands, a much larger file, out of curiosity as this was previously downloaded some time ago. This has now completed fully intact, albeit in 25mins on my slow connection. So if anyone can tell me why maybe I can sleep somewhat better, the question is niggling away at me.

Two further attempts from 7.20pm no further success. This time I did not open a new tab to browse during the download, just sat watching the download box move along. What is happening the download is completing with only 27.7mb of the 37mb in 8 minutes from the original 10 minutes stated at the start. The mystery deepens.

Thank you each for responding. Unfortunately a further attempt via Beechbrook, then morturn.com, ended in failure, same message. My BT broadband connection is only 512 mbit, downloading speed of PtoE shows varies depending on the time of day. Maybe I've chosen the wrong time as the Rome show from both websites took 12 minutes at 4pm. Nevertheless I was able to download Daniel Laugher's 'Highest Tides' from Beechbrook fully intact in 8 minutes virtually straight after. Most peculiar, beyond my comprehension. I'll wait until traffic dies down somewhat and try downloading later and see if that has any effect. I won't give up, even if I have to wait until next year! Bill, sorry about the Wintertime slip up. Today, have downloaded Rome twice from Beechbrook, when trying to open Zip the message is, "No Zip File, bad Zip File, or part of a spanned file." Wintertime, Vietnam and Cambodia both ok. Would appreciate your advice please. Nathan.

If it's of any help , I found YouTube clips sometimes took a while to load causing buffering problems. Then I came across a very helpful free tool, Speedbit Video Accelerator from: http://www.speedbit.com/ and my problems were solved. Also, you can convert YouTube's FLV files to AVI then download to your desktop for later viewing by using the web based FLV Converter Vixi at http://vixy.net/ Nathan.

It was not my intention to infer the alternative anti spyware programs mentioned are products of Grisoft. If this has caused misunderstanding among other members then I apologise. What I was trying to point out is, your initial post referred to the trial period for Grisoft's Anti Spyware 7.5 not the Anti Virus 7.5 which is an entirely different program. There seems to be enough confusion over Grisoft's intentions with the Anti Virus 7.5 version. When Grisoft announced the launch of 7.5 followed by, version 7.0 would cease to be supported from Jan 15th 2007, many users took this to mean 7.5 would have to be paid for. Why people believed this I don't know. I've used AVG Free for 6 years now, the only hiccup in it's performance has been the two occasions when PtoE shows, mistakenly, were said to be carrying a Trojan Horse. I don't disagree with your opinion on free security becoming a thing of the past, may be it will come to be so. Until then I am quite happy to continue using free AV and those AS programs which do a very good job for me and many other users.

The trial period refers to Grisoft's Anti Spyware not Anti Virus 7.5. With the Free Anti Virus 7.5 download there is no trial period, albeit it has it's limitations compared to the Pro version. Free AVG 7.5 is available to home users only for personal use, business users will have to purchase the full version. As far as the Grisoft Anti Spyware program is concerned there are a number of free to use versions such as AdAware/ Spybot Search and Destroy/A2 Squared or Windows Defender from Microsoft. Personally I use those mentioned other than Defender, they have served me well without seeking Grisoft's revamp of Ewido Anti Spyware after they bought it out.

[i'm getting that pop up on my free version with the announcement daily. It's interesting that by following the links of the popup, there really isn't any way to get to the free version download. It is available and they say it will continue, however it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the download for the free version. I have many friends and from time to time give them a heads up on this great AVG program. The last 4 people I sent to grisoft couldn't find it. Opening my folder on shows from Beechbrook today, AVG (7.5) flashed up that the file Kula.exe contained a Trojan Generic2.nxu. Considering Kula was downloaded some time ago without any alert before now I was inclined to think false positive. Nevertheless, Kula was placed in the virus vault and I went searching for an answer. Entering the trojan details into AVG's Search Virus Encyclopedia result was, 'no record of this virus.' If AVG has no record then how can it cause the alert? Kula remains in the vault until this is fully resolved.

No Ken I did not. Did have a scroll through thinking about it must admit, then decided let's go with one at a time, will see how I perform with VP first. I don't pretend to be a photo editor who can stand alongside many of the members here. Very much at the basic stage with Adobe Photoshop, Microgrfx was a wee bit easier to use but not as powerful.

Well that didn't take long, it actually works. Where I'd gone wrong was to drag VP into a Plugin folder based in Adobe's main folder and not into Plugin folder nestling within Elements own folder. Why I did that I'll never know, probably because it was the first plugin folder I saw is my only excuse. Sorry! Now all I have to do is play with VP and learn. Thank you for your patience.

The Dom, I'd seen the filters folder mentioned for CS2 but not for Elements. Another possible cure. There's only one way to find out. I Shall Return. Many thanks.

Last night at our computer club we watched a demo of the Virtual Photographer plug in being used in MS Digital Suite although it's designed forPhotoshop. I came away impressed and decided to download this free plug in and try it out in Elements 5. The folder contains install instructions which are simply drag the entire folder from the Desktop to Photoshop program folder and drop into 'Plugins'. Opened Elements 5, brought in an image - opened Filters - no sign of VP or OptikVervsLab category. Searching forums for anything related to Elements I soon realised this plug in has been around for some time now and began to wonder, beyond Elements 3 or CS has Adobe updated later versions to not require this plugin and to ignore it's presence. Certainly nowhere could I find anyone else beyond 2004 with my problem. I'm very much new to Elements or most things Adobe and would appreciate any help on this subject please.

I'm not sure as what these 'intrusions' were Ron although there was a posting which seemed very odd. I preferred not to click on any of the links on offer being the cautious type I am. I don't see this posting today so may be I was right after all to be cautious. On two other forums I visit, occasionally some character will enter the forum and be as obnoxious to everyone as they possible can. Usually this occurs late Friday nights which means they were 'as tired as newts' and think it's fun to cause mayhem.

The free AVG antivirus has up dated to version 7.5. Thought it worth mentioning should any of you use this AV and were not aware because I certainly was not until last night. Certainly no repeat of the fiasco when PtoE shows were flagged as threats not to long ago.

Al, I followed your advice to the letter, first trying Ulead's Video Studio 7 without success, files not recognised. Next attempt with Nero 6.6 Burning ROM 'DVD-Video feature was successful to a Traxdata DVD-RW. Playback from a Pacific DVD Player and Cyberhome DVD Recorder was excellent. I particularily liked the widescreen version giving that 'Big Country' feel to the show. Well worth the testing, thanks for sharing.

Bill, In addition to digesting the 'How to create Video' advice you can download a 30 day free trial of Ulead's Movie Factory here: http://www.ulead.com/dmf/trial.htm which will convert your AVI to DVD format and burn to disc. At least this will give you an opportunity to burn your latest creation, then either buy the full version or as previously advised, sit back and wait for Pictures to EXE 5 Deluxe with it's DVD burning facility. Just remember the golden rule, do not close Pictures to Exe after creating the AVI until Movie Factory has completed the task of converting and writing to disc.
