  1. There are many great suggestions already posted on here, and I have to admit that I did not read through 14 pages of posts so this may be a repeat of previous posts. 1. Is it possible to make it where there is no delay between slides? For example you could use push effect and set the slide display duration for zero and the slides could seamlessly scroll across the screen without stopping. 2. Allow independent volume control for the background music and sound clips for individual slides. Right I have trouble with background music drowning out the narration on specific slides. Volume control within this program would greatly simplify the process! 3. Create transition effect where the background is stationary during the transition. For example, if you have a background color that fades from one color to another in the top to bottom format and slides transition using the push effect from top to bottom, right now the background and everything moves. I would like the background to remain motionless and let the picture slide. Thanks, Mike
  2. I am a frequent visitor to the forum, but not often a contributor. I'm always looking for some new tidbit of advise or information. You guys never dissappoint! This discussion is the perfect example of what makes this program the best! My wish list of 3 changes/upgrades for the next version would be: 1. Light Table 2. Pan & Zoom 3. Have the ability to make the background stationary while using the push effect. I would like to be able to choose if the background was stationary or moved between slides. I use it now with the moving background and will continue to have a use for that feature. The stationary background with a moving slide would enable me to make scrolling text, say for credits. Of course to use the stationary background, the background would have to be the same on both slides. I am not a programmer and am not sure what is reasonable to expect. I do know that I did not expect the awesome amount of upgrades and advances that has been made to P2E since I bought my copy! Even if none of this makes it to the next version I am still very happy with what I have. Thanks Mike
  3. Seasons greetings from South Western Colorado (USA)! Amazing to read through the posts to see this program in use literally all around the world and even several people close to home. I am in Durango, Colorado. Many mountains around, beautiful photos all around. Has not been above freezing for a few days here and we have had snow for several days now. Makes for great skiing! Hope everyone has a wonderful new year! Mike
  4. I usually try to resize the photos down. The finished file size is 100-500kb I have a 2.5 Ghz machine and even it will choke when I run large photos too fast. When it does it is usually the sound you will notice first, skipping and stopping. If I am making a show for someone else I also will make the MP3 file smaller just to try to make it easier on their computer. I use Audacity for that. Good Luck! Mike
  5. Check EBAY! I live in the USA (Colorado) and have been looking for a place to get royalty free music for use with P2E, or popular music under license as our colleagues in Europe can. Unfortunately, the music recording industry is on a rampage over copyright violations from online swapping sites. I think they are well within their rights to do so, but it has made it difficult for me to get any information from them about a system such as is available in Great Britain. I sent an email asking about it and I thought I would have the police at my house before it was all over (they are really up tight about this stuff right now) I have decided to avoid the subject of copyrighted music for the near future at least. I have found that royalty free music can be quite expensive to purchase from the source. I have started buying a collection on Ebay and have saved a lot of money! I know it won't be the music that my clients want, but they will have to live with it for now. If anyone has any other sources or information about this I would be very interested. Mike
  6. More complicated than I thought! Thanks anyway! Mike
  7. Boxig, Thank you so much for all of the wonderful utilities! I have a request, if it would not be too much trouble. You may already have it made and I just haven't found it yet! Could you make a screensaver installer? Something that could be clicked on and would perform the installation for you? I would put this utility on CD possibly with Autorun for clients. I find it difficult to explain to everyone how and where to put the .scr file to make it work. If you could come up with something like this that would work on all versions of Windows from 95 to XP you would be my hero. Thanks, Mike
  8. I have come across a problem with the new Beta. I was working with the new customize slide 'advanced options' to run an external application. I checked the box but am not able to browse for the .exe I want to run. I tried manually typing in the address but found that if it is too long it will not let me finish. I can enter something with a short address for example C:\Wedding and it works like a charm. I may just have to refile all of my linked shows to make it work for me. Now that I'm done whining, I have to say thank you for all the hard work and programming to make PTE the great program it is! Mike
  9. I have had this same situation arise. My problem is that clients are very specific as to the music they want. I have been wondering about those music download sites where you pay per download. I have tried but have not been able to get info out of anyone there about copyright. What if I downloaded the one copy and it went into the show, so basically it was the licensed copy? I would even be willing to pay a higher fee to be able to do this. The current fee is $0.79 per track I believe. If this were possible then I could use popular current music to accompany my show. Not that I dislike the royalty free stuff, I actually use it too, it's just that most of it people have not heard much of before. If anyone has any idea where I could get info on this I would greatly appreciate it! Mike
  10. The autorun.inf file is exactly as follows: [autorun] open=TempCd.exe This is the same format I use to run just the slideshow.exe and do not have any problem with it there. I have not heard any feedback from anyone else using XP, so I'm beginning to think it's just an XP compatability issue. Thanks, Mike
  11. Granot, I have downloaded your updated TempCD utility and tried it. I am running Windows XP and had troubles with the original version of the utility. The new version still has trouble ( I assume it's with XP) but now it does something else. I made a CD and when placed in the computer, after a few seconds it opens MY COMPUTER looking at the files on the CD. It does not do anything else. If I click on TempCD here it does it's thing perfectly. I have not tried the CD I made on the XP machine on one with a different version of Windows yet, but hope to soon. I have tried it on a second XP computer and got the same results. It may just not work on XP, but I really hope it can, it's exactly what I need. Thanks, Mike
  12. Sorry I just typed it wrong. It is \ not /
  13. Well, you guys were right. My autorun did have an error. It is corrected now and looks as if it is working, but now I get "can not save to C:/temp" ??? The temp folder is definitely there but? I use Windows XP - any known problems with that? Thanks, Mike
  14. I forgot to say, if it will make any difference, the show I am trying to run is about 23Mb containing 180 slides. Thanks, Mike
  15. I have a quick question about this utility. When I try to use it I set up everything as the instructions say, but I get a "can not find /autorun" error. It may be something I am doing wrong, but I can't find the problem. I'm using a Pentium 4 2.53Ghz machine with 512Mb of Ram. I usually do not need the utility for my computer, but would like to use it to help on other machines. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
