  1. Well done Ray. Enjoyed it enormously. Another of your excellent AVs. Regards, Roger
  2. Ken, Congratulations on your first upload giving a wider audience a chance to see your work. I hope it does well in your competition. I thought the photography was excellent. However I did not think your first piece of music was suitable (Memories). I would prefer steam organ music throughout. The mix from one tune to the next should have been smoother and overlapped using a programme such as Audacity. My other criticism is that I would have liked to have more variation of picture duration and speed of dissolves. In many cases a faster dissolve to the music would improve things. Anyway well done. I hope my comments are helpful. Regards, Roger.
  3. Thanks Jean-Cyprien for this Christmas present. What a wonderful creative piece of work demonstrating your brillant skills. Must be up there with one of the best AVs I have ever seen. Many thanks for sharing, Roger
  4. Wonderful AV - many thanks for sharing it. Great photography, excellent dissolves and zooming. The music added to the beauty of it. A lovely journey in the sky. Thanks again. Roger.
  5. I have added video clips to the original version. Is this an improvement to the AV? Regards, Roger 43 pictures - 4 video clips - 3m44s duration - use 720HD for HD quality
  6. Mick, There is alot about fake MS Essentials warnings and how to remove them on YouTube. Try - Regards, Roger
  7. Morturn - your comment is appreciated. A lot of Photoshop was involved in most of the "snapshots". An example is attached. Roger
  8. For over three years now it has been possible to produce MP4 files within PTE. Regards, Roger
  9. Hi Ray, Really enjoyed this AV. As Mick commented it is a bit long but I must say I did not get bored and was very impressed with the quality and composition of your 16:9 format pictures. I am having difficulty in suggesting what pictures could be removed. You have demonstrated how ideal walking (including its difficulties and dangers) is for photography by having time to take pictures at leisure and from viewpoints inaccessible by car. Having not visited the island, I appreciated the titles. I can understand your attraction to return there. The music was well chosen. Thanks. Regards, Roger
  10. Hi Yatchsman1, Thanks for your kind comments. I have a number of AVs on Youtube with copyright music. This one was pick up within minutes of uploading it. They are allowing it provided I agree to them using adverts with it. I do hold an IAC licence which should cover YouTube use. Regards, Roger.
  11. Comments please on my latest AV taken at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich during the Jubilee celebrations. Regards,Roger 43 pictures - 3m44s duration - use 720HD for HD quality
  12. What better way to start the New Year with another gem from Maureen! Many thanks for posting it. Very enjoyable. Regards, Roger
  13. Making Audio Visuals for over 30 years.

Originally slides and reel to reel tapes with manual control of two projectors!

Gained an ARPS and DPAGB in AV.

  14. Nice one Mick but where's the VO? (only joking) Seasonal Greetings. Roger
  15. Brilliant Lin. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. Very clever and well worth all the effort you have put into it. Have a great Christmas. Regards, Roger.
  16. Mick, Time to leave well alone. I think you have done a really good job on this one. Hope it encourages you to do more VOs. If you want me to be picky - a number of pictures need straightening and try in Audacity's "Normalising" to 90% to set the overall sound level. Well done. Roger
  17. Thanks Maureen for sharing your sequence/experience. Wonderful, dramatic photography accompained with soothing music to match the dissolves. Regards, Roger
  18. Mick, My secret is a can of larger before recording but no more than one. In your case, record after an Arsenal win - you are in a more relaxed state then! Roger
  19. Mick, My method in Photoshop (in my case CS3) to remove fringing is to use the Magic Wand Tool with tolerance set to say 20 and mouse click in the sky area. Still in Magic Tool, click on "Refine Edges" button then change the "Feather" to say 8 and "Contract/Expand" to say +50%. This produces a selection with a soft edge and slightly into the tree tops. I would then increase highlights under the Image - Adjustments - Shadow/Highlights to restore sky detail. Regards, Roger. Incidently another recommendation when doing Voice Overs is to record your voice whilst standing.
  20. Mick, Well done at your first attempt - the VO has greatly improved the sequence. Not a lot I can added to the excellent advice from the critics so far. Important you end with music and get the balance right. My mike windshield was made from my wife's tights stretched over a ring made from a wire coat hanger! A number of pictures would be improved in Photoshop using Image - Adjustments - Shadow/Hightlights and increasing the Highlight control to add colour in the highlight areas. I do all my sound mixing outside PTE using Cool Edit (others use Audacity) Regards, Roger.
  21. Howard, Beautifully constructed, excellent photography and great narration. A first class AV. What more can I say! Regards, Roger. PS Congratulations for the 29/10/11 – I also had a good day!
  22. Another great sequence Maureen. Love to know how much work is done in Photoshop. Have a enjoyable holiday. Regards, Roger.
  23. Maureen, Another great sequence from the pair of you. Every picture beautifully composed and dissolved with precision to the well chosen music. You must have been very lucky with the weather. Thanks. Regards, Roger.
  24. Maureen, I am pleased you have kept with your choice of music. Rondo Veneziano is too frequently used with Venice sequences although a friend of mine who used it was told by a judge that it was a pity he didn't use music of Venice!!! Your sequences excell with the standard of photography and the originality of the music. Many thanks. Roger.
  25. Mick, Very much enjoyed your latest AV offering. Usual well composed images, suitable music and certainly demonstrates why this castle is well visited. My only dislike is the “Grotto” section - the black pictures that separate this part. Think it would look better to dissolve to the grotto ceiling then added the sign in the animation. At the end, rather than going straight into the interiors why not dissolve to the door knocker picture (seen later) which then leads you nicely into the interiors? Minor points to an otherwise good sequence. Regards, Roger
