  1. Hello ! everybody. Today I posted a little show I have constructed in B5 onto Beechwood Cottage(thanks Bill), please have a look and post any comments and suggestions below. It may take Bill a short while to vet and post. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I in making it. Tom.
  2. Hello Neil, I'm glad you enjoyed my shows, but we have to be careful!. Friday night saw me at a meeting of my local AV group and the subject was"Members sequences" for critique, the evening was going along fine with the first couple of shows, being of the conventional type, receiving comments from various members. It then came the turn of my two shows...a stoney silence,(although during the projection they did receive some wows and murmours ) the only coment they recieved was,"well I think animated sequences may find a place, but it's not for him",this from the groups chairman, another member wanted more leaves, smaller and behind the trees. I think we are going to have the same situation we had when digital started to encroach on traditonal film pgotography. we will have thoes who just wont exept any change or anything they don't understand. Tom.
  3. Hi! Morasoft sent me a personal message asking how I constructed the walking bird depicted at the end of “fun with 5”, I decided to reply to him here so others could share my answer. He wanted to know if it was made from an AVi file or keypoints, well the answer is keypoints, I amputated each leg individually (in Photoshop) and made small png files of each leg and the head and body, Using the object and animation controls, I constructed a parent rectangle and inside this I put the bird back together with the body and each leg as a individual objects, I animated each leg individually using a new keypoint for each step in a walking motion, I then selected the parent rectangle and animated if across the screen from left to right. There you have a very quick tutorial, I’m sure the experts will be able to improve it so we can all benefit. Tom
  4. Happy Birthday Dom and many more of them. Tom.
  5. Hi! Jean-Pierre, Thank you , I was aware of this problem when putting the show together. I'm afraid it's down to very poor fileing system on my part, when I took the photos I saved them all in the raw state from my camera onto a cd-rom, I then compressed some of them for the web at 640 x480 and posted them on a site called imageevent. I the LOST my cd-rom with all my origanals. I had to call back the images from the web to make the demo, the rest is the faults to quite rightly point out. A hard lesson well learned. Tom.
  6. Hi! Ron. Be my guest, glad you think they have enough merrit to show to others. Bill, Thank you for pointing out the basic error, I have corrected my post and all should now be well, hope you enjoy them. Usualy I only share my work with members of my camera club and clubs I am invited to,to put on an evening for them. I also share with members of this forum so they can critique for possible content and technique improvements. Maureen, Have a lovely holiday, going anywere exotic and can we expect a sequence? I have today taken delivery of my Ageo "m" series sound system, it's every bit as good as you say, thanks for recommending, very portable so sound at clubs and societies will now be vastly improved. Tom.

  8. Maureen, for valantines day I bought my wife a new garden shed...... to keep all her DIY tools and cement mixer in. She bought me a new pinny and rolling pin. Tom.
  9. Hi! Marku And Maureen, Thanks you guys, thats brilliant, I have tried you methods and it works great. On my Acer 3020 laptop if you press fn and f4 the laptop screen turns off,fn and f5 just the projector and fn and f6 BOTH how useful is that for the midway break. Tom.
  10. Hi! Buddies, My system runs with laptop and projector screens visible just like Al’s, however when at camera clubs and the like, I would like to turn my laptop screen off and just use the projector, but I don’t seem to be able to find the off switch. My system is…. Acer 3020 laptop and an Acer Pd523 projector with a native rev of 1024x768, I have my lap top set at the same res so the auto system can look after things for me, i.e. if I alter the resolution to a higher setting the projector will follow suit although interpolation takes place. Does anybody know how to turn the screen OFF?; I have read the manual, no answer forthcoming, I don’t think Acer knows because they don’t answer my e-mails. LOL. Tom.
  11. Good morning all, (Well it is 9am here in the uk) Thank you one and all for your help and advice on this topic, to Ralph for the great sound effects he sent, JPD for pointing out the elementary error on the parachutist, Maureen, Ken, Ron(UK), The Dom, and last but no means least, Keith who’s demo and advice on the sound effect really gave me a lot of inspiration, You have all proved once again what a friendly and helpful tool this Forum is. Tom.
  12. Ralph.zip On reflection I seem to have had the answer all the time, (please have a look at my attachment above),I think all I have to do is replace the parachutist with a bomb (or as JPD would have it, some sweets), Can you improve it for me? Sorry no sound, can't find a sound effect of the Lancaster. Tom
  13. Keith, Thanks for your post, it's exactly what I was looking for. After seeing your project file and how you did it, it makes me wonder why I havn't thought of that myself, I'm still leaning towards the parent and child approach and I will send you my completed project file so you can compare. Tom.
  14. Hi! All, I am posting once again looking for Help......... I am trying to simulate an aircraft travelling horizontally across the screen, at the same time dropping a string of bombs, any ideas?. Tom.
  15. Jean-Pierre I have had a look at your example by the rolling ball, am I correct in assuming that you Substitute a moon for the number on the ball and modify timepoints?,I’m only guessing here, I’ll wait on your modified file to see how the master does it. Tom.
  16. Dom, That’s exactly what I was looking for, I have down loaded you Demo and copied the footprint, I hope you don’t mind?. I have produces a one slide demo and sent it to you by e-mail, please let me know here on the forum if you have any suggestions on improvement, Tom,
  17. Jean-Pierre. Following on from your fantastic demo, would it be possible to modify the technique to simulate a moon orbiting around a planet on the horizontal plain and running in front and then behind the planet, the thought stems from the number on the ball rectangle. What do you think? Tom.

bonjour Jean-Pierre, Congratulation on yet another fantastic effect and so simple to reproduce, I hope you don't mind but I have had a play with it, and for me the effect is better when the opacity on the mask is set at 90%, What do you think?. Tom
  20. Hi! Morasoft, "Volcano Teide Part 2 (spring)". This time I did view the correct sequence (LOL) and I must say, every bit as good if not better than part 1. For me it had everything: - excellent visuals both cartoon and photographs, a sound track that appears to have been written especially for the images and last but no means least, a very informative and interesting story line. All in all a sequence that shows off all that is good in P2e. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Tom.
  21. Stan, Dare I be so bold as to suggest an additive to Lin’s explanation:- you could (in Photoshop) use the polygonal Lasso tool to make a perfect selection inside your frame, then hit the delete key, this will expose the transparent layer beneath giving you a perfect edged frame interior. Tom,
  22. Great comments Jean-Pierre, I must remember to keep file sizes to the minimum as you suggest, 80ms between key points is a good speed but I don't think it's fast enough for hummingbird wings. But what the hell, it’s fast enough for most requirements. Tom.
  23. Hi! Dom, Thanks for hosting my project, others will now have access and hopefully come up with some good ideas for improvement. Tom.
  24. Ken, Thanks for the idea, it's not a mini show I want to upload but a P2e project file, I don't think Bill would be to please if we started to use his great site as a post box for files to be collected by others. I thought of The Dom's site but I believe he will only host links or am I wrong?. I think my way forward is to get myself an ISP with enough room alocated for me to host my own files as others on the forum do, as of yet I dont know much about web sites I will have to reserch it. Tom. Tom.
  25. Hi! All, It's that annoying Limy from Liverpool with another question. How fast can you make a bids wing flap? (I am looking for a Hummingbird effect). I have made an attempt but I have only one way of getting my project file on the Air and that is to use Dropload and for that I need an e-mail address to send the link to. As I would particularly like….JPD, The Hawk, Lin Evans, Al Robinson and Ken Cox to comment and not forgetting Igor of course, I would be very grateful if one or more of those would volunteer to receive the file and if possible post it on the forum so others can join in on any learning points. Looking foreword to any replies. Tom.
