  1. Lin, I'll have a go a little later, Your technique is similar to the way I make PNG clouds so you have got my creative juices flowing again. Tom,
  2. Lin, Thats super, I remember I used to create bubbles using Kai's power tools (a few years ago), Did you create yours from scratch or use a plug-in? Tom.
  3. Hi! Tony, I am also going to Embsay this weekend, I would have liked to stay for the two days but I can't get any accommodation, it seems all are booked up. The Drive from Runcorn is about two hours(depending on traffic) thats means four hours traveling each day so I have decided to do just the one day, that day has yet to be decided, probably Saturday... have you any preference? what day do you think it would be populated with the most people in costume. I would have liked to have a run on a steam engine powered train, and maybe a visit to Bolton Abbey, maybe another day. Tom
  4. Eric, For one moment there I thought you were going to tell me that Peter was your 85 year old pal. LOL. Eric, have you thought about paying a visit to Leeds A.V. Group, I don't think they are to far from you. There you will learn a lot as they have some members who exhibit their work Internationally on a regular basis, Their Chairman - Keith Scott FRPS to mention only one. If I'm preaching to the converted I apologize. Tom,
  5. Hi! Eric, The last time I did anything for the WI was a disaster, It was back in the days when I was using 2 x analogue projectors. I was projecting a sequence on Egypt and it length (about 1/2 hour) required 4 x straight magazines each holding 50 slides, this required a quick change of magazines half way through the show, I had made this change a hundred times or more with no problems but on this occasion I put the wrong magazines into the projectors, well you can imagine the result, I had to stop the show and correct my error,it completely ruined the mood I had my audience in, I still have nightmares to this day. It's good to see that P2e has breathed new life into you as it did for me as we approach our twilight years, we can now go on for many years producing our shows in relative comfort while sitting in front of our computers, gone are the days when we made our titles using Lith film and scratching the emulsion with a pin. long live Photoshop. On the subject of Audition and Audacity, why not visit Ronnie West site, he has some tutorials for download in PDF format, alternatively Peter Appleton also has a downloadable tutorial on Audacity. Tom.
  6. Eric. Earlier this year I constructed a little show on the same Theme and posted a link on this forum, it's uncanny how to minds think along the same lines. Heres the link again, please have a look. This is a revised version as Lin suggested I removed the people in German uniform, this I have done. http://www.mediafire.com/?oi7ihy42cpo Tom.
  7. Eric, I enjoyed your sequence very much, another place for me to pay a visit, I love these Re-enactment Society events ,they can be great places for some super photographs. Getting back to your sequence, just one or two points if I may...... The overall length was a bit on the long side for me, your sequence contained a lot of images that could have been left out, they didn't add anything to the story you were telling, one of the biggest headaches for us A.V. producers is having to leave great images out, we feel we must find a place for them and it's a big wrench when we decide they mus be left on the cutting floor. The use of colour didn't bother me but I did enjoy the ones you converted to black & white, very apt and in keeping with your theme. One other point, and it's a personal preference, I'm not a great fan of over pan and zooming, pan and zoom is a great feature of our much loved programme but it can be over used (in my Humble opinion). Once again thanks for sharing with us and I'm glad to see you have mastered Mediafire, it's a great tool don't you think? Tom.
  8. Top Drawer Lin, Now how about a little tail lifting to round it off, LOL. Tom
  9. Lin, Brilliant job, loved the movement, wouldn't it be fun to animate the head slightly, it would be very easy to do and would be great fun producing. Having said that, as it stands it's still a top notch effect. Tom
  10. Hi! Igor, Chalk another one up for you and the team, I too can't wait to use this new feature, especially the masks. A question if I may, will the user be able to set the sweet spot ( starting position) of the masks? if so It could be used very creatively. I am only sorry that the 3D transition can't be used to start and end sequences from the desktop. Tom
  11. John, Try this link, some great savings. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&key...sl_1oortz50fs_e Tom
  12. No problem Peter, help yourself but don't forget to post a link when you have finished your sequence. Tom
  13. Peter, Way back in P2e V5 beta 9 I created this little show on the same lines. http://www.mediafire.com/?6mxsomy5hom Have a look it's only 6 mb. I'm still trying to perfect my skills further. Tom.
  14. Great news John, now go off and have FUN, I know I did. Tom
  15. Hi Eric, I don't really see any point, in the first place I produce my sequences to please me, if others also enjoy them it's a bonus. I will still ask you and others for critique because I still have a lot to learn and in the passed I have implemented some suggestions from members of this forum. Back in 2003, when I first joined this forum,I knew very little about the use of P2e and sequence making, but with the help of Lin,JDP,Ken Cox,Barry Beckhan Ron west and the late Ron Wilkinson I now have a good understanding of prespective zoom, parent and child, creative transitions and sound editing and can now produce sequences that I'm very proud of. Please keep your suggestions coming but don't be to upset if I don't use them. Tom
  16. Eric, You have cracked it, I received you mediafire download with no problems. After listening to all you have kindly sent I'm afraid I still prefer my original sound track to my little show, but a least I now have further choices for future projects. Cheers for all your efforts and if there is anything I can do for you, don't hesitate to ask. Tom
  17. Hi Eric, My Server will accept att at 8mb anything over it will refuse, Ken sent me a Mediafire link, you can use Mediafire to send files free of charge up to 100mg in size, I find it a boon. Tom
  18. Hi Eric, Thanks for all your efforts, Ken Cox has come to the rescue and sent me a folder containing "The Four Seasons", all I have to do now is relax sit back and listen. I've sent my address and look foreword to what you send and you must let me reimburse you for the postage and packaging. Tom
  19. Hello again Morasoft, Well you have done it again, another sequence to go into my "Keep" folder. As I informed you when last we corresponded by e-mail, I've mislaid the copy you sent me last year. Have you shown this to your pupils and if so what was their response? By the way, I've had quite a bit of fun with the software you recommended for ripping frames from AVi. and producing Jpegs. On my fist attempt at a rip I requested a save to my desktop, well you know whats coming, I flooded my desktop with over 100 individual files, I had to create a folder and stuff them all in, well we live and learn. Tom
  20. Hi! Yachtsman1, You are a top Man, you can find my e-mail addressi in my signature at the bottom of this post. Tom
  21. Hi! Yachtsman1, Interesting, could you suggest an appropriate piece by Vivaldi ? All the Original images are contained in my "Venice 2008" sequence, a link can be found in my original post. Tom
  22. John, The effect was created by a filter from Alien Skins Snap Art collection, (Barry Beckham has a Tutorial on it's use). Along with the filter (coloured pencil) I used a variety of Photoshop brushes and the eraser tool on a layer filled with white placed over my textured background, I then erased with the brush set to various opacity levels to create various effects, try loading up different brush sets and experiment, you will find you can create some interesting effects. As an after thought, if you don't have coloured pencil, try the noise filter that comes with Photoshop, or any of the filters under the filters menu, with a little effort you can create something stunning. Hope this has been of some help, if not you know where I am. Tom
  23. Hi! Everyone, After seeing "BB's" "The Art of Cornwall" I couldn't wait to get into Photoshop and have a Go. As we have just got back from a short break in Venice (and Produced a Sequence of the city), I thought I would torture an image or so and this is what transpired, if any of you have suggestions for improvement, don't be shy. it's a Mediafire link:- http://www.mediafire.com/?tkfy2xgoo7a And the Link to the Original Sequence. http://www.mediafire.com/?mh0a7kfmfdt Have fun. Tom
  24. Xaver, Thanks for the info. I also have access to a copy of Adobe Audition 1.5 but it is rather complicated in relation to Audacity, I think the interface of Audacity is much user friendly. As soon as 1.3.5 comes out of testing and Peter has completed his tutorial I shall be making the transition. Tom
  25. Peter, Great news on your intention to re-write, I have problems joining two pieces together (cross fade) giving a seamless join, please say you are going to cover this. I also have problems with levels and noise reduction but I know this is down to my inability to use the software. any help you can give would be most welcome. Tom.
