  1. Dave, Thanks for that. My sequences are played at my club on a projector with a native resolution of 1024x768, what would be projected if I adopted you suggestion above as the projector automaticaly drops the resolution to the max it can project ?? Tom
  2. Sorry Eric, we seem to be on cross purposes... The WD live Hub is a media streaming device for streaming HD video from the web, home networks and from it's 1tb hard drive, it's not in fact an external hard drive and can't be used as such. I was going to use it for streaming Very high resolution video (Blu Ray quality) from my home network to my TV, I was also hoping to stream my exe, pte shows the same way. Geoff and Dave have shown a very interesting work around so I will be able to use the live hub. Now to your problem on sound via Hdmi from computer to Tv, I also have this problem so I gave it to my son to solve, he's just sent me an e-mail stating that he can cure the problem. As soon as I have my system up and running and proof that it works, I'll send you the info. Tom
  3. Geoff and Dave, Thanks for your speedy replies. In future I shall be making two versions of my sequences (in a high resolution), one for storeing as an Mpeg and one as exe. for trolling down to my Photo club. I shall now output one of my small project files as an Mpeg put it on a flash drive and give it a go, my largest flash drive I have is 8gbt. Tom
  4. Hi! Heres one for you Techies. I am considering purchasing a Weston Digital Live Hub (1 tb) to store my collection of Pte sequences along with my movie, Photos and music files. The hub will be connected to my home network of two computers and my 42" led Lglx6900 tv. My question is (and I don't seem to be able to find the answer), will the Live Hub store and play my (exe.) sequences via an Hdmi 1.4 cable to the Tv ???? I hope somebody will have the answer. Tom
  5. Hi!, After reading this thread I was inspired to have a go, I found a prog called Videomach, (download it from the web) it's free to use for life but puts a banner on the first couple of jpegs produced,( very easy to delete them and they wont be missed in the final output into Pte). I used my web cam to record a small Avi,ripped it to jpegs into a folder on my desktop and imported the whole lot into pte in the usual way. I set the global settings to 30 msecs and no transitions. It worked a treat. I had a bit of a problem syncing the sound, but hey you can't expect to do everything with a click of the mouse can you? Have a go, it's good fun. I forgot to mention. I used Adobe Audition 1.5 to record the sound from my Avi,then exported it from the edit window as an mp3 into the same folder as the jpegs. Tom.
  6. Richard, May I ask what software you are using to break down your video clips? Tom.
  7. Hi! All, Can I add my two penny worth to this topic......I to am grateful for the addition of insert blank slide. The method I used to use was to insert any old slide into the position I needed a blank, go to O&A,right click on the object and delete, this left a blank in it's place. You may say it's a bit long winded but when you have been doing it for so long it becomes second nature. I'm now on a curve to use insert blank . Tom.

    JPD

A very sad loss to this community and to A.V sequence makers through-out the world, JPD's work with P2e was immeasurable, to myself in particular as he solved a problem with rotating helicopter blades for me therefore allowing me to complete a sequence I was working on. I'm sure there are many more members of this forum who can tell a similar story. Rest in peace Jean-Pierre and my god be with you. Tom.
  9. Peter, The way to install actions is as above but you copy and paste the .atn file as follows. windows explorer then C drive then prog files then adobe- cs4 folder(in your case Elements folder) then presets then actions ..... paste your action into this folder. Hope this helps. Tom
  10. Hi! Lin, I wasn't for one second suggesting that the above method was a "gimmick", on the contrary, I was referring to the use of a Visisketch sketch in a sequence was a gimmick, I don't see very many Audio/visual buffs taking to it, I myself only had a go at making one because I could, but I don't think I will ever produce a serious sequence with it, no my shows are primary about my photography. Tom.
  11. 1. Place individual frames as separate slides then sequence them at a rapid rate to create the animation. 2. Place individual frames as separate "objects" within a single slide then turn each object on and off via opacity at carefully spaced keyframes. Lin, I use option 1. but as you say the drawbacks from each method are a problematic. I recently produced a sequence using method 1. and the result was a exe.file size of 537mb for a 3 min show and i used 2012 bitmap images. The show runs reasonably smoothly on my machines. Option 2. for me is a none starter, far to time consuming for an end product that is just a gimmick. Like Douglas, I to am waiting on JP coming up with a solution. Tom.
  12. Lin, I've done what you suggested and started a new thread, you will find it under the heading of "P2e and Visisketch". Tom.
  13. Hi! Lin, I have been corresponding with David Fitzpatrick the code writer for Visisketch and he told me how to get at the created bitmaps before the Avi is created, here’s how..... In Visisketch create a sketch and click on build bitmaps, now without closing Visisketch navigate to the folder you installed Visisketch into (usually “C” drive...programme files... Visisketch) and explore it. Inside you will find a temp folder called bitmaps, make a copy of this folder and paste it at a convenient place on your hard drive; this folder is now available for use in P2e like any other folder. Load the files into P2e using the “add all pictures to slide list” command and the will appear in the correct order. I won’t go any further as it would be like teaching your grandmother to suck eggs. If you know of any other tips and tricks for using this programme, please share with us. Tom.

  15. I’ve been using Visisketch Pro for quite a while now and importing the resulting drawings into P2e. You end up with a sequence not very far removed from video with your chosen drawing tool rapidly creating a sketch.. If anybody is interested in how it’s done please e-mail me or PM and I’ll send you my method. It's worth remembering that the resulting EXE. file or project will be very large. Tom.
  16. Hello Maureen, I’ve just downloaded your sequence and I must say I’m much impressed. My wife and I are planning a tour of Scotland and Cumbria in the next week or so (as soon as the school break is over). Top of our places to visit is the Isle of Mull and in particular Tobermory to photograph the brightly coloured Homes. We will also be visiting Fionnphort to see if I can get a picture of the Isle of Iona from the west shore. After seeing you sequence I’ve been inspired to produce one of my own. Our trip will end at Inverness, and then it’s the trip home to Runcorn via an overnight stay at Glasgow. I only hope that my memory card is as full with good images as yours. Thank you for sharing. Tom.
  17. Lin, I’m sure that you will have the strength to see you through this trying time, Please give Sherry my love and tell her myself and my family are all thinking about her. Tom
  18. Hi! Lin. It’s been many a long year since you and I started communicating (Remember the rotating helicopter blades I asked for help with),well you not only helped me but a lot of others who were following our threads, then along came JPD and provided the answer, this I believe started us off on the child parent rectangles route. Well Lin, we are all a lot older and P2e has evolved out of all recognition, thank you for making my learning curve a little easier. As soon as you get your boss (or as we say on this side of the pond “her indoors”) back to full health I’m sure you will be back to help others. This Forum will not be the same without you. God bless you both. Tom.
  19. Peter, Give me a call on Messenger regarding a Registry Cleaning tool, I think I can help you. Tom.
  20. Hi! Den, Below is a link to a little show I produced early 2007, please download and play it, if it's what you want, contact me and I'll send you my project files so you can see how I did it. http://www.mediafire.com/?lzvjegmnkzy Tom.
  21. Happy Birthday Igor, Now relax, have a piece of cake and put your feet up, you deserve it. Tom
  22. Brian, Once again you have proved that we can rely on you to help with our problems, thanks again for your help. Tom.
  23. To all of the Above, My thanks to all who chipped in with possible solutions, as you can see from Igor's post above the problem was with Vimeo changing their login procedure, Igor, true to form has produced another Beta that eradicates the problem and we should now have no problem. I have uploaded a small demo of the mask feature to try the system out, it uploaded at a rate of (SD Mode) 1 Mb a min from start to finish, not to bad. Thanks again all, until the next time. Tom.
  24. Brian, I've just tried your suggestion, no go. I think it must be the way p2e is talking to Vimeo as if I log on to the site from my browser(EI 7) I have no problems. I can't upload a sequence because I can't produce an Mpeg4 file. Tom
  25. Hi! Brian, I have tried your suggestion with no luck...... I have now loaded Beta 5 on to my laptop, same problem, I'm now at a loss. The system was working before and I uploaded a couple of videos with no problem, now all of a sudden this. I think I'll have to live with this until Igor and the team bring 5.6 out of beta... Tom.
