  1. Tom. My interest in Living History and re-enactment Societies is purely photographic,I'm a complete duffer as to the actual History. I have created one or two shows from different periods, they include, Victorian Times, Second world war, Sealed Knott (English Civil War) and lately the Tram car museum in Crich North Yorkshires (what else have we old timers got left to do), plus I'm always on the lookout for good stories that i can illustrate and create a sequence. As to the music I'm using you will have to wait and see... suffice to say that Ken Cox helped out by sending me some period stuff. If you get Messenger Live we can chat live about it. Tom/
  2. Hi! Eric, Thanks for your very kind offer via PM. As I have said in other posts,I'll post a beta version of my show and await for all you experts to tell me to scrap it and do it again the right way. At the moment I'm only working on the sound track and I'm using Barry B's method of marrying slides to the sound track in timeline, so far it's working a treat. Hopefully it will only be a day or so before I can let you pick the bones out of it. Tom.
  3. Hi! John, As I was telling Tom, the construction of my show is slow going at the moment, I am at the bottom of the learning curve when it comes to building a sound track, I have trouble making seamless joins, levels control and timings, I find it just as difficult as learning photography and Photoshop, both of which I'm also at the bottom of the learning curve. As soon as I have a semi completed show, I'll post it up and request recommendations for changes from you knowledgeable lot. Tom.
  4. Tom, I was only joking, I wouldn’t dream of stealing your ideas.LOL. As to my show I have all but completed it, I’m having to take my time constructing the sound track, it gets more complicated each time I work on it, the trouble is, I get fresh ideas as I go along and the whole track has to be re-mixed, Thank god for Audition and project files. If you would like a preview of my show (a beta version) sent me a personal message that includes your e-mail address. Tom.
  5. Hi! Brian, If anyone is interested I have included a link below to the show you mentioned above. I captured the sound track with the Griffin and like Brian, was very pleased with the quality, If you want my opinion, go ahead and purchase a Griffin imic, at £15 on eBay I don’t think you can go wrong. Here is the link to the show (I made this back in 2006; please ignore the poor quality images). http://www.mediafire.com/?xotndzdm0tz Tom.
  6. Igor, You and your team are marvels, what next, if this is a taster what has Beta 1 in store for us?. All that remains is for you to take our photographs for us. Once again ...well done. Tom. PS. When are we going to see some of your Scotish Highland pictures??
  7. Hello Ken, Ronnie and I continued this discussion on Messenger, Ronnie was after the Sony D50 but it was only available in the States at the time. I think Ronnie purchased some upmarket Pro equipment, with the help of a Hospital Trust as he broadcasts live for them on Hospital Radio. I myself went for the zoom H2 purchased from Amazon for a reasonable £124.95 of all taxes and P&P. If anyone is interested, there is a healthy discussion thread on going at the moment called Sound" Advice Why not give it a look? Tom.
  8. Hi! Tom, I’m interested to know where you took your shots, I took mine at an event at Tatton Park in Cheshire 20th.Sept this year, and yes it started off with Rain then brightened up with strong sun light, then, for me the quality of light had too much contrast which produced some hard shadows (at these types of events, you can’t be carrying and using reflectors and such can you?) , still with a little help from my software I’ll manage to resurrect most of them, the remainder will make some nice monochrome prints. As to my sequence I’m going to take my time over it, I have other projects that require my attention first and besides I’m now going to wait for yours so I can steal some of your ideas L.O.L. Tom.
  9. Hi! Xaver,, Can we now put this matter to rest? When it all boils down to it (there’s another one for you) it’s the job of the moderators (of which Ken is one) to decide what posts are appropriate and which are not, they have the power to delete or move posts as they deem fit, they have this power granted to them by Igor because he feel they are responsible enough to manage the forum unsupervised. Now if the general membership population takes the prerogative from them, were will we be? We will have posts hi jacked just like you hi jacked this post to make your complaint. What you should have done, if you feel that strongly about the matter, is to contact a moderator by PM, they will consider your points and take any action they think appropriate. My thanks to Patrick, because he was the only one to reply to my post as expected. Tom.
  10. Sorry Folks, I forgot to post the Soldiers boss......LOL Tom
  11. Hi! All, Today I spent a very nice couple of hours Photographing an American Civil War re-enactment (a sequence to follow). I was amazed a the lengths these dedicated people go to. I have over 1.5gb of images to mold into a sequence. They had an encampment with open fires, cooking period food, even the woman folk and children are in costume. I have provided a taster below, now look out for the show. Tom.
  12. Ken & Xaver Now Gentelmen, lets be nice. Ton
  13. Ken, Good job on merging these threads, keeps all the info in one place. Well done me old china. Tom.
  14. Brian, Thanks for this link, I downloaded and tried it, perfect result. With my failing eyesight (due to old age)and Igor only programming P2e to accept 32x32 icons, I'm now on a campaign to get him to increase the max size to about 80x80 px, this will allow for better clarity for me and others. What are your thoughts on the matter? Tom
  15. YES Xaver, Now for PSV then on to Rome. (again).LOL Tom.
  16. Hi! Xaver, Read the above, done the above, Top rated tip. thanks a lot, I now have a personal Icon. Off now to watch Liverpool give Marseille the run around in the Champions League,(come on the Pool). Pte will have to wait untill the final whistle. Tom.
  17. Hello all, Can anyone recommend an Icon making software? I would like to add my own Icon to my shows but I can’t seem to find any software. I know members have added an Icon so maybe they can help. Tom.
  18. Lin, Just a bit of soap and a lot of flannel. LOL Tom,
  19. Lin, What do you think of this piece of nonsense? For_Lin_v2.zip Tom.
  20. HI! Bobo, Great show, I love monochrome but what I do feel would be creative, is to include just one colour, I was thinking of selective Reds, give it a try and see what you think, I think it would make your shots more dynamic. Overall I thought the whole thing hung together quite nicely, your pace was very good and your transitions and time slides were projected came in at random, for me there is nothing worse when images and transitions have the same time settings and come on screen every 5 seconds, it get very predictable after a while. Your choice of music and tempo was spot on for me. I hope you will now get feedback from the more talented members of this forum. Tom.
  21. Hello Bernard, long time no see ..... I enjoyed your shows very much, but for me you've made two shows into one. The sequence of the Harbor would stand on it's own very easy and the sequence of the celebration parade (Well Dressing) I thought was superb, your photography was up there with the best and coupled with the 3D effect you have a keeper. Two questions on your set up if I may, does your wireless remote trigger both shutters?, if so how have you got it set-up? What are the focal lengths of your matched Lenses and how do you focus with the tape holding them in position, isn't the AF system affected? I have had a go at 3D but with one camera and a rocking motion between exposures, results can sometimes be hit and miss as I'm sure your aware. Lets see more of your work please. Tom
  22. Dave, I'm sorry that your thread was high-jacked. I don't suppose you are interested at this moment on how your viewer can control your work, I know you made the post so others could see your work as presented, enjoy it and come back with some constructive comments, well all you got was some good critique on your sound track. I have not posted critique as I can give you that in person down at the pub on Monday nights, so come on chaps, give David the same help as you gave me when I first asked way back in 2003, help thatt you continue to give to this day. Tom
  23. Hi! Lin, I installed the bits you sent and had a play this morning, here's the result of my first effort, My technique in both of the bubbles manufacture needs a lot of work but I think you could create some super effects. For_Lin.zip Please let me have your learning points. Tom
  24. Hello Eric, Glad you had a good day. It seems to me that you could be a dangerous man to know, your pal aged from 72 to 93 years in just three days.LOL. Will we get to see the final show? Tom.
  25. Hi! Dave, If your sequences have half the quality of your prints and I have seen a lot of then, then with a little help from your friends here you will not have a problem. Why not post a link to your Norway sequence, I'm sure the Members here would love to see it. Tom.
