  1. Dave A beautiful, atmospheric show. My only criticism is that it ended rather abruptly rather than fading away but that is only my opinion. I asked my partner, who is a civil engineer and a Gloucestershire man and someone who knows the river well, to take a look. He was very impressed and said that it brought back lots of memories and incidentally (but as you say, another story), is very much against the barrage. He did ask if you had a photo of the Severn bore. Good luck with your talk; the a/v should complement it well. Maureen
  2. Hi Davy This really does come up well on a larger monitor and as others have said, I wish the images were mine. When time permits, I may well have a go at re-working one or two of mine and also trying different music. Maureen
  3. As usual, Davy, you always come up with something a bit special. Fractal Worlds is beautiful with its range of brilliant colours and I thoroughly enjoyed 'What Lies beneath.. the first time around but even better on a big monitor. As you can imagine, Frozen appealed to me most as I am currently working on an a/v about Antarctica, tho' I could do with one or two of those seal pics. Great work, as always. Maureen
  4. Wow, Dave. Almost fell off my perch at the start of this one! As you said, this is a very 'personal' sequence but of the type I think you do very well as I have watched several of your camping/outdoorsy' shows before. You certainly captured the atmosphere of the place - I almost felt I was there, especially when someone asked 'anyone want a gin and tonic?' I was particularly interested in this show as my son lived in a part of Sweden for a few years where they, too, hunted to fill the freezer with moose. You guys certainly know how to enjoy yourself. A good show. Maureen
  5. Hi Dave Hope you were able to move your chair back a little further to view this one. Seriously though, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for commenting. Maureen
  6. Thanks to Anthony and EVERYBODY else who has taken the trouble to comment. I will bear your comments about timing in mind when putting together my next one. Maureen
  7. Thank you so much for that, it's very encouraging. You've made my day. Maureen
  8. I've gone for the 'bigger picture' this time, so hope it's okay. All photos taken from early December 09 to early Jan 2010. On www.beechbrook.com/pte/ with grateful thanks to Bill. Maureen
  9. Andrew - please don't be disheartened. YOU know you have done a good job and WE know you have. If your club members have poor taste, then it's their problem. Don't let it be yours. Just carry on pleasing yourself and enjoy what you do and at the same time please let members of this Forum also appreciate your work. Maureen
  10. Hi Dave - a nice, relaxing a/v which must make you long for the Spring and Summer months when you can get out your camping gear and head off. I thought the music complemented it, too. We here in the UK have been having some pretty rough weather (for us) recently and whilst it causes a great deal of inconvenience and hardship, it does look extremely beautiful. Maureen
  11. My goodness, Davy. You might not be able to get to 'exotic places' but it doesn't stop you putting together some entertaining and atmospheric a/vs. What a creative mind you must have. Keep them coming. Maureen
  12. Well, it certainly was a good one, Mary. Happy New Year to you, too. Maureen
  13. Thanks to both Mark and Paul. Maureen
  14. Yes, Andrew, it surely is. When the weather plays ball, there is nowhere like it. Maureen
  15. Thanks, Mark, for that. DavyC emailed me with valuable constructive criticism, primarily about the music quality. He kindly cleaned up the track for me, recommended a few other minor tweaks and I put it together again and I have to say it is better and ends more smoothly. I have, however, left the original on Beechbrook. BTW, a friend did the Norwegian Coastal Voyage in mid September and the autumn colours and light he captured were beautiful. So far, winter has been our favourite time. Maureen
  16. Anthony I am so pleased you enjoyed my a/v; it is always very encouraging to receive such comments. Let us hope your health problems are resolved sooner rather than later so that you can get back to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Scotland. Good luck for the New Year. Maureen
  17. Mark - really enjoyed this version as very familiar with the voyage. Have put aside to keep. Thanks. Maureen
  18. Thanks to Dave, Lin, Mary and Jeff for taking the time to comment. Also, thanks to Jeff regarding the 'mouse' tip. I have made a note to (hopefully) ensure this doesn't get in the way in any future a/vs. Maureen
  19. Hi Noel Good for you on getting into a/v. It really is a very enjoyable and absorbing pastime. For further help I would recommend that you visit http://www.beckhamdigital.co.uk/audiovisual/audiovisual.htm Barry has excellent advice on his website and also some superb FREE a/vs to download and aspire to. He also sells some excellent tutorials and no, I am not on commission. Maureen
  20. Thanks to both Colin and John. John - I watched Braveheart purely because of the music and the magnificent Scottish scenery but I understand your feelings. Glad you enjoyed the show. Maureen
  21. Images taken from fairly short visits to the North-Western Highlands of Scotland late October 2008 and the same time October 2009. Despite a dire weather forecast we took the ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway for a couple of nights, followed by an even briefer visit to Skye before being rained off. I'm afraid not an original choice of music but I did try several Scottish pieces; however, always came back to this one. Available on http://www.Beechbrook.Com/PTE Maureen
  22. Davy - you're a star! Just 'carry on regardless' and give us more. Maureen
  23. Jim We went onto Lewis and Harris after leaving Dundonnell. Apart from one day at the start of the trip we had bad weather - rain, rain and more rain so we didn't see any of the locations anywhere close to their best. However, we do intend to return to Harris sometime, hopefully next Spring following on from Skye. Maureen
