  1. Hi Mark - just had a quick look at your latest show before dashing away on holiday. Some wonderful, dramatic shots on there and great skies. Boy, but you were lucky with the weather! I have only one criticism and that is purely my opinion, for what it's worth, and that is that I don't like to see horizontal and vertical images together unless the verticals are contained within a horizontal slide. I appreciate that you have put all the verticals together which is certainly easier on the eye than when used randomly. Just my humble opinion. Otherwise I found it very enjoyable indeed. Maureen
  2. Andrew - may I make just one criticism. On the first line I think you need a space between April and 1940. The way I read it, it appears to run minus a space. Otherwise, I found it a very powerful show and the music is just perfect. Good luck in the competition. You must surely do well with this. Maureen
  3. Hi Mark - Thanks for your comments and so pleased your Club enjoyed it. Wish we could get our club more into a/v! As regards the music, I did a bit of 'research' on Google as I wanted to know who had composed 'Erin's Green Shore' and came across 'Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore' there. The music I used is on a CD of music by a Scots Pipe band and is, of course, mainly Scottish. I knew Erin was Ireland (I have Irish ancestry) but I thought the music suited the show well. As you say, perhaps only the Irish would notice! Regards Maureen
  4. Thanks, Dave. I've made a note of that and will certainly give it a go. It will save a lot of hassle when creating future shows. Have been going through my latest one and it seems that all the D80 ones are at the beginning and the D300 ones follow on - they are not mixed so hopefully it won't be as noticeable. Don't think I have the patience to go through it all that one again. Advice always welcome. Thanks again Maureen
  5. Hi Tom Thanks for your generous comments. I'm sure you will enjoy Mull - it is beautiful and very peaceful. Keep a look out for otters. We were very lucky in capturing a sequence on video whilst they were playing on the shore of the lochs. Unfortunately I didn't have a lens with enough reach to capture some stills. Hopefully the weather will be kind to you - we didn't fare so well. Will look forward to seeing your a/v. Have a good time. Best wishes Maureen
  6. Thanks Dave for your comments. I'm not quite sure just why this is happening about the difference in image heights. I did think that maybe I had cropped slightly to straighten a horizon but it is not the case here. However, the images were taken on two different camers - a Nikon D80 and Nikon D300. On now checking the image sizes (after re-sizing) I find that the Nikon D80 gives me a size of 1024x685 and the D300 1024x680 hence the very slight variation in image heights. I know I can avoid this by not 'bordering' the images but my preference is very much for borders so it is obviously something I am going to have to watch in future. I have just put a lot of work into another a/v, also using both cameras, so the same problem occurs. I am not putting it out yet as I want to look at it again in a few weeks' time. Once again thanks, Dave, for pointing this out. We are looking forward to coming over to Ireland in less than a month's time. Just hope we are lucky with the weather. Maureen
  7. Amazingly clever stuff! Wonderful imagery and the music complemented it perfectly. Loved it! Maureen
  8. Hi Patrick - thanks for taking the trouble to comment. I agree with what you say about the finish and may decide to have another go at it. Maureen
  9. Apologies, Anthony, and thanks to Ken for correcting my omission. Guess I wasn't quite awake earlier today. Maureen
  10. We recently spent a few days on the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland and were lucky to get one 'good weather' day. Sorry for earlier omission and thanks to Ken. Of course it is on www.beechbrook.com/pte Maureen
  11. Wonderful - one to watch time and again!
  12. Dom - Success at last! Have finally managed to download Part 2 of Tanzania. Now looking forward to watching it. Maureen
  13. Dom - the problem remains. I have tried several times over the past couple of weeks or so with no success. Maureen P
  14. Superb photography as usual. Always a pleasure to view your shows. Good luck in your new life - looks a good choice. Maureen
  15. Wonderful - I bet grandma was delighted with this! Maureen P
  16. Hi Dom Have just managed to successfully download your 3D show but still struggling with the same problem on Tanzania Part 2. Maureen P
  17. Dom - There appears to be a problem somewhere along the line. I have been trying for days to download your Tanzania - Part 2 with no success and also now your latest '3D' show. The download starts and then the 'estimated time left' gradually INCREASES and then comes to a stop. I suspect this is why you have had so few responses. Maureen P.
  18. Sorry, I forgot to confirm - Yes, it is the Lake District. M
  19. Thanks, Mark, good of you to take the trouble. M

  21. Hi Noel IMHO the music in the first presentation worked better. Maureen
  22. Some places seem to touch the soul. Landscapes, especially mountains do it for me. Maureen
  23. Barry - thank you so much for that and for taking the trouble to look. I have kept so many of your a/v shows and try to follow your advice. High praise indeed. Again, thank you. Maureen
  24. To all who have taken the trouble to look at and comment on my latest effort, my grateful thanks. Your generous comments are very encouraging. Maureen
