  1. Hi Tom What is your experience reference 'Boot Camp'? I have 'VMWare Fusion' installed on an iMac (via Windows XP by the way - as Vista seems to have 'issues'?) but I get the impression, partly from posts in other threads, that although VMWare Fusion enables supposed seamless switching between operating systems it does not give full use of the computer resources - i.e. graphic card, RAM, processing power etc - do you have a take on this as compared to 'Boot Camp'? Also I guess you need some Anti-Virus stuff etc? I am thinking of getting a MacBook Pro Laptop and wondering which way to go, weighing up the pros and cons, between using a 'Virtual Machine' (Fusion) or a 'Partition' (Boot Camp) route in order to be able to run PTE as the ONLY Windows program, after all the image and sound files have been managed into a PTE usable form. In other words PTE will be used for the compilation of the presentation. Any thoughts, comments or advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Geoffrey
  2. We just need to keep chuntering away - hoping that the Great Powers (i.e. Igor) is beavering 24/7 on the project Does anyone know of anyone who has gone back to the 'Dark Side' (i.e. Windows) after having the 'Mac' experience? Geoffrey
  3. Hallelujah - We have progress? Hi Igor Count me in: I have an:- iMac 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 6Mb Shared L2 cache 2Gb Ram ATi Radeon HD 2600 PRO Graphics 256 Mb GDDR memory OX Leopard 10.5.6 I hope that this provides the information that you need - This was an "off the 'Apple Store' shelf" iMac from the UK in summer last year (2008). I am also quite seriously considering the 'new' 17" MacBook Pro Laptop. However, on a slightly different tack - I notice from quite a few above replies that people are using 'Bootcamp' to run with 'Windows', rather than 'Parallels' or VMWare Fusion'! I think that it was Henri that suggested that this was a more efficient way of utilising the computer graphics and memory facilities? I am not really a technical wiz on this sort of thing, but I am running 'VMWare Fusion' software and was wondering if, and why, I should revert to 'Bootcamp'? (Windows is very slow at loading/starting up through 'Fusion' - but once open things seem to work ok). And if so, how should I go about removing/deleting 'Fusion' and replacing it with Bootcamp'? Any guidance or explanation would be appreciated. Regards Geoffrey
  4. Hi John I think computing is like cameras - the next all singing all dancing version is always 'just around the corner' - Are we not all guilty (and I plead guilty as well!) of waiting for the ultimate solution rather than "getting on with it" - i.e. taking pictures and creating presentations? Technology only facilitates creation, it is not a substitute for it! http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/style_...icons/icon2.gif Cheers Geoffrey
  5. Hi Colin Sorry about that - I'm not really used to using the sizing controls on these forum things - I did not realise how large the font was until after I posted it - I just wanted to emphasise it a little bit! Cheers Geoffrey
  6. If Igor can create a Mac version of PTE that would be fantastic. Until then dual boot is very good solution. Tom
  7. Hi Is this just another reason why we need a version for Apple Mac ? Cheers Geoffrey
  8. Hi Please excuse me as I am not used to these forum things! However, I have posted on this this issue in the general forum in responding to an earlier disussion. All I am trying to do is push for the development of a MAC version of PTE - and this seemed that it may be an appropriate place to at least create some further discussion. Cheers Geoffrey
  9. Hi Is there any further news regarding the availability of PTE for Mac? I have just registered on the forum on hearing a comment that such plans were afoot - and I found this (now quite old in current development terms?) thread. I do use PTE on my PC, but would it would be good to be able to use my 'new' iMac - which I intend to use for the images work. Cheers Geoffrey
