  1. Hi Xaver, Thanks for your help, as well. In fact I used your sugestion "XMedia Recode 2.3.0.4" after a failed test with MkvTools (my fault). So, thanks very much. Regards, Jose
  2. Hi Peter, Am I one of the "HD and Blu-Ray authoring experts" in this Forum...? Good joke!!! Please... Yes, you should thank Ray and Frank not only for their super-knowledgement on all these subjects, but also for their enormous good will and care trying to help people like me. But yes, you are right, this is a unique Forum, and I myself have already said that more than once. Congratulations to all of you! (By the way, have you already watched my project? Come on, let me have your comments, ok? After all, I haven't yet been judged by a Moderator...) Best regards, Jose
  3. Hi Ray, As I already told Frank I've been away so, sorry for my delay. I just uploaded to MediaFire a folder with 17 files (BMPs and JPGs) all derived from Slide DSCF 1412 (BMP) as I saved it from camera. Your idea of working on this trying to get better results for PTE slides 58, 66 and 74, I must thank you very much but I can not accept because I would say it's an impossible task, even for me it would be very difficult. Only because starting from DSCF 1412, I made n adjustments to it (PhotoStudio 5.5.0) and each one (or almost) I saved as BMP, so you see n a), ..., c), d)... items, as well as each time more words to the name of slide, indicating what I've done. And what have I done? I hardly remember! It would be hours or days trying to reproduce the final 58, 66 and 74. Impossible! Anyhow, I appreciate your good will and thank you for that. Forget! Things are already fine, now, I am pleased with my final BD. After all, I am only playing with my retirement... I only uploaded these files because you certainly deserve my consideration and I wouldn't deny this to you. Please, don't care about this anymore, ok? I appreciated your own opinions about USB, as well as Frank's and I go on learning everyday! Thanking again, Regards, Jose PS: I will send you MediaFire link to your private email, ok?
  4. Hi Frank, Sorry for the delay, I've been out. You know? Life is a mistery! I bought my PHILIPS BDP 7300 last November (from new, of course) and I always thought that everything should be updated. When you told to update firmware I checked in Philips site. Actual firmware is version 1026.1 The one installed was the pre-historic 914.4 In the meantime came out versions 919.2, 931.2, 934.2, 949.1 and 1006.5 Who could imagine 6 new versions in 2 months? Ok, I installed v 1026.1 (as you guessed...) and you know? My MP4 video files play! I underlined video because audio... UNSUPPORTED AUDIO FORMAT, so says the message. What will be your "trick" to make audio play? User Manual says that only mp3 and WMA audio files are accepted. I could see that PTE VideoBuilder has no options, only something like "mp4a MPEG-4 AAC LC". So I think that this BDP 7300 is a very low class BD Player, and for now there will be no solution, I think... but I will not guarantee till I receive your reply...! In the meantime, concerning video image and trembling problems, using my pen USB 2.0, I played 2 already existing MP4 files from VideoBuilder: 1. 24000 kbps (2-pass), 60p fps. Image quality (sharpness and everything) 100% excellent, like EXE file, I would say. But, almost all moving slides show a very, very big shimmering (not visible in BD discs) About trembling, I would say that all slides with a pan or zoom only a little bit faster, we see a constant "high-frequency" trembling, I mean, like the movement was divided/separated into fractions of second, fractions of displacement, you see, like "vibrating". In complex fades or higher speeds of zooming or panning, image stops and remains stoped till I make PAUSE and PLAY (not FF or FB). As you told to Ray, I think that this can be due to those 60p fps beeing too much for the Player, and also the USB pen which should be High-Speed 2.0, and mine is not. By the way, my PHILIPS USB is High-Speed 2.0, so it says the Manual. My plasma shows at 1080/50i (YUV), as expected. 2. VideoBuilder preset HD (1920x1080) High Quality (in GSPOT was 7345 kbps, 29,971 fps and plasma shows 1080/50i like before). Image not bad, I would say good, but trembling too much (like in former tests with BDs). Concerning 1280x720 I must make such MP4 and I will try it. Ray suggested me to adopt for every phase always the same speed, 24 or 25 fps. I would say that in this particular project anything less that 60 fps gives bad results. Your post to Ray concerning USB vs BD was very clear for me but again, in this case I must offer some BDs, and to see at home it should be fine if I buy a USB Hi-Speed pen, but shimmering and audio remain a problem. Thanks again for all your help, Frank. Best regards, Jose
  5. "Snapcam", your are 200% right! And this clearly shows that you have an excellent and detailed idea about "pace" and "sequence time-proportions" which must be respected in a VisualShow. I would even say more: it's not only a point for "outsiders". In fact, no VisualShow should sacrifice "quality" in favour of "family affairs". And I myself am the first to see that this sequence is too long, mainly in relation to next sequences till the end of the project. Should I have increased the duration of the show with some 2 or 3 more sequences after the existing ones, I believe that overall "time proportions" would be more correct and not only outsiders but also myself would better accept this so long "family clip". Now, an explanation (not a justification, there is no possible justification!): 1. I had no more photos to show (for these 2 or 3 extra sequences which I would need to insert). 2. No way of reducing the music time of this "familiy sequence" making it shorter... (well, frankly, may be it was possible, fading it out till a sudden cut in TUA station... May be. On the other hand, doing this, how would I finish my "sepia pictures/thoughts"? Because, as it is, I "waked up from my memories" only when train stoped and music really ended, and this makes more sense to me). So, thanks for your time and right comments! What about more SlideShows from yourself? I couldn't find any. This Felix affair was already seen by my grand sons and they were glued to the monitor and loudspeakers! Quite a good show indeed! Would you want to give me your private email address? I would like to "speak" with you on this, in private. Best regards, Jose
  6. Hi Frank, Yes, every BD Player should be capable to play MP4 files directly, but I regret to say that not my PHILIPS BDP7300, only certified for DivX Ultra. And this Ultra is limited to 720x576 resolution. Before I discovered this "small detail" on the User Manual, I tried several times using USB pen: "This format is not allowed" or "This resolution is not allowed" were the messages on plasma. At last, I used "DivX Plus Converter 8.0.1.49" and I converted my PTE MP4 file (2-pass 24000 kbps, 60p fps) to DivX Ultra, I mean, 720x576, 7000 kbps, 30 fps (best parameters for such conversion). I put my USB pen on player and there it was, my project, on the plasma. Not in 16x9, but 4:3 it was, and I couldn't find a way to put it in 16:9, because either player or plasma were already configured to 16:9. Only way: changing H size of plasma (what is possible, as well as vertical size, as well as H or V shift, my SONY is great...!) As expected, image was quite disgraceful, impossible to look at. So, I must insist on BD discs, which I only will use for final burning, in order to keep and offer, because in this meantime I am using only one BD-RE for all these tests. But it is really a very good idea of yours to save the original PTE MP4 file in a USB pen (or DVD) and play it directly on the BD Player. By the way, when you say "The only problem I have faced was when using 1920x1080 60p High Quality because this demands to much rendering power from some of the BD-Players", in my case (PTE MP4 file, 1920x1080, 24000 kbps, 60p fps) which should be some particular specifications of a BD Player in order to perform a good rendering? Because may be I will change my actual PHILIPS when I will have my new PANASONIC plasma (please see my last post to Ray). Thanks to you and Ray, I think that my "quality" problem is at least explained and justified, if not solved to 100% (... those 3 slides...!), anyhow, I learned how to make the best of it as it is, and it is now very, very good indeed. Thanks so much. Best regards, Jose
  7. In case you didn't download file yet, please contact MediaFire-PRO Support as they can help troubleshooting your problem. So they said upon my claim (see below): Hi, I tested these files and I was able to download both successfully. If your users are having difficult accessing them please have them contact us, as we will be able to troubleshoot their problems more quickly if we can communicate with them directly. Best regards, Charlie The MediaFire Team
  8. Please, try this (it's the same, anyhow, for Windows, and it is really working for me, I can download) http://www.mediafire.com/?if1hb8cw2w3wrw7
  9. ???? I think you missed something! You wrote nothing! Jose OK, it's fine, now. I replied to you: Mediafire is working fine, please keep trying.
  10. No reason at all, everything is working fine. Please try again... and again! Some days ago a member from Germany had the same problem, and latter on he got it. I can't explain.
  11. Hi, Great! 02:50 of pure enjoyment! Great soundtrack, very well worked on. Great pictures, as well. Great sequence, I would say great little story! This is indeed a good slideshow, I would say a good VisualShow. Obviously... beyond the usual... On this subject, please have a look here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12754&view=findpost&p=82491 and express your own opinions on the subject. I didn't search (yet) for more slideshows of yours, but I hope you had uploaded others before. Congratulations, Jose
  12. Hi Ray, Here I am. Starting by the end: 1. My digital camera is an old (almost pocket) FUJI FINEPIX A500, and I always use option 5,1 Mega pixels (maximum available). Its only format is 4:3, resolution 2592x1944. When I first time download pictures from camera I save them as BMP files (14,4 MB each) and all image "treatment" with my PhotoStudio software is made with BMPs. When each image is ready to go to PTE I save it as JPG. This includes masks, graphics, etc.. This actual project I decided to make it 16:9, so you easily see that all my photos had to be zoomed! No, I don't have anymore the original JPGs, but I do have a complete archive of respective "original" BMPs. Yes, my old plasma monitor can not display true 1920x1080, but I hope to buy soon (!?) a new 65" 1080p Plasma HDTV PANASONIC VIERA TC-P65VT25, in case in the meantime nothing better comes out. That's why I want from now to make my PTE projects in 1920x1080 and burn good BD discs, in order to full enjoy them in the future. So I think that 1280x720 is out of question. 2. Like Frank asked, how did you know that VideoBuilder does not create 60p? I myself should like to know how to analyse an MP4 file, beyond GSPOT possibilties. By the way, my future PANASONIC is able to process 24p! (I think only thing it's not able to process is breakfast in bed...) 3. Considering your next analysis, I think I already could conclude that less than 60 fps in VideoBuilder (beeing it "i" or "p") leads us to an almost constant image trembling everytime image runs a little bit faster. So, for this particular project, I think VideoBuilder 60 fps is 100% necessary. Problem is that NERO only offers 3 options: 24p fps, 25i fps and AUTOMATIC (which is standard for 25i fps). This has been cleared somedays ago in a LIVE CHAT with NERO SUPPORT. So, I full agree with your correct statement, but it's impossible for me to burn at 60 fps. I always must burn at 25i or 24p. This last "good" BD was burn at 24p fps and it's good (except those 3 slides). Less "visual quality"? I think I must forget... May be there is no loss of quality at all... What can I do? Is there any software to burn at FULL HDTV 60p, 50p or even 30p? Even if it exists, what about other BD players? Mine, as you say, misses 50p and 60p. What about others? So I think I will follow your advice in the futures for next projects: VideoBuilder 50p (60p if necessary), NERO at 24p. Problem of HDMI connection is out of question, now, for obvious reasons. I am sure that with PANASONIC results will be better. And of course, I'm not sure at all that my BD player component output is delivering 24p. 4. Slides 58, 66, 74 Yes, it's always the same slide, and it is a good idea to try improving 58 and 66 using 1920x1080 saved 74 (not 1382x777 copy). I used 1382x777, which is a reduction to 60%, because during the project process I already noticed here some heavy trembling using 1920x1080. So I reduced them to 60% to low the "amount of work" for the processor. I will try again. Considering modify these slides' animation, from slowdown to linear, I think it's out of question because clip's dynamic would be deeply changed for worst. The same concerning a lenght increase of such clips, as not only the whole sequence would be out of music compass, as well as more than 2 seconds to look to an instrument would be more than boring. Anyhow, trembling is explained and justfied, and I must thank you very much for that and for all the work, time and trouble you had with me. Best regards, Jose
  13. Ray, 05:47 in the morning, here, I just got home and saw the above post of yours. I am really impressed! Thanks so much for all your fantastic work and good will! Tomorrow I will read it again and reply. Good night! Jose
  14. Hi Frank, I am sorry for my delay in "commenting" your own comments because I have been somewhat busy trying to overpass a technical problem on how to burn a high quality BD out of my PTE project. I "think" you are quite aware of such problem, are you not...? Anyhow, I wouldn't miss to exchange some words with you concerning my project, it will be my pleasure. First of all, thanks very much for your opinions to which I paid all my attention. You are right: the 2 photographers who made all "old" images were 2 great professional artists very much appreciated in Portugal and all their work is kept in our National Photo Institute. Photos date from 1933 and I, myself, find them great, great photos. They were Domingos AlvĂ£o and Emil Biel (as shown in final credits). By no means my own photos can be compared with theirs. This can take us to next point: animations with cut-out foreground. And "If he wants to show picture-combinations which imagine it is video, he should have used video". Here we are at last! Let us discuss, ok? 1. No, I didn't want to imagine it is video! I did want, yes, to captivate the viewer's attention by giving him a small (and different) approach to reality. Why? Why not? And why should I pretend to be video? Is video the limit? Why not 35mm or 3D? 2. Now, Frank, as a sort of a small parenthesis in order to follow my thoughts, I will dare saying something horrible... But it is only an opinion, my opinion, no more no less than an unvaluable but honest opinion. Since 2 years ago, when I discovered PTE, I have watched a few PTE SlideShows, not too many, I confess. And I always wonder why with such a so powerful software in their hands, people always make the easiest samething, only using some 10% of PTE possibilities! I always found it amazing! After all, what for is Igor working so hard? In fact, I think that "problem" of long projects is not only downloading times. In my opinion, and as rule (there are always exceptions)... they are boring, no more, no less. Why boring? Because our attention is not enough captivated. We may be enjoying the extreme quality of photos and framing. We may find the music much appropriate. So what? Is it enough? Where is the show? 3. So, re-taking my former thoughts on the subject. I have the opinion that a SlideShow MUST be a "VISUAL SHOW" in all circunstances. Sober or less sober, exciting, dramatic, naturalist, historic, musical or romantic, but always a visual show. Forget slides. It could be drawings, engravings, whatever. The point is: we are dealing with images. Let's make a VisualShow with such images. Main compromise of our "production" should be: how to captivate viewers. Have I a software capable of producing something special? Yes, indeed, what a tool it is! So, why not use it? Background music? Ok, it's most used, it's quite an easy habit. Some fades? On the contrary, lots of them, the most sophisticated ones... Some pans and zooms? Ok, as well, easy to produce. However, Some kind of sound effects? Humm... Some kind of story? Hummm... Some kind of visual "special effects"? Hummmm... (Sorry Frank... why didn't I make a video instead...?) Some kind of "professional presentation"? Hummmmm... Some kind of interest? Oh, yes, nice pictures! Period. Downloading times...? Sure... 4. I think that main reason for actual uninteresting situation is only a question of aquired habits. People easily accept a background music because they are used to. A pan or zoom, because they are used to. Frank, why not an electricity post passing by, over a panning landscape? What, or where is the difference? These are the so-called "animations with cut-out foreground" which you didn't like after the first "funny" one. I assume that you didn't like because they were too many (!?), not because of its quality which is not good indeed (I couldn't find a way of avoiding that razor-cut edges of foreground moving (or fixed) objects, as I couldn't smooth the edges of the masks involved, really needing a black&white edge dĂ©gradĂ©, not possible with my image software). So, too many. So, why not a video instead? Just because I was dealing with photos, not with video, that's easy. But Frank, tell me: do you really think that such clips didn't help to increase viewers attention? I think they did. By means of a different way of giving an image? A "multiple" (and more real, I hope) image of a scenario which I was indeed interested to show. Using a great possibility offered by PTE. No, I didn't pretend to make any kind of approach to video. I 100% agree with you: "a slideshow should not try to be a video, because it will always end as the worse little brother". A Visual Show, Frank, it will always be my main goal. Viewers must be "prisoners" of the show, and if it is the case they will watch for 30 minutes or more, with attention and pleasure. These are not exclusive sensations of video or cinema. SlideShows can do it as well. 5. One last point. Before this "Um dia... em Agosto" (I took 5 months to do it), I made another "big" project (27:01), a 100% "family slideshow" (8 months production). I decided to tell to our grand sons, the "story" of first 50 years of their grand mother, my wife. You can hardly imagine the kind of show it is, and I am sorry not to upload it (obvious reasons, and also because it is not spoken but only sub-titled (in Portuguese). No big "video attempts" this time, but several "tricks" on how to show more than 400 photos in 27 minutes. Too long? Never! So I know that I have some reason on this point. This is to say that I perfectly accept the "photo purists", the ones to whom a photo is everything by itself. For these respectable people I "accept" a most particular (and "dry", should I say) kind of slideshows. It's a photo. Next. Next. Next... Period. Out of this (legal) world, a slideshow must be a real show for most of us who assist a slideshow (whatever beeing the subject), instead of going to movies or watching TV. Too much long...? It always depends... Let's fly with PTE! Frank, thanks for your patience! Let me run before I am crucified...! Best regards, Jose
  15. Dear PTE Fellow "yachtsman1", Angry? So sorry. Since my youth (some 70 years ago...) I was teached to face criticisms as an healthy way of getting better and better, mainly and overall if criticisms apply. No, I am not using a translator, it's an original of my own. By the way, I assume you used one on "Making statements like that will not get the response you are hoping for, only the opposite". Be careful with translations, this is bad marketing for WnSoft Forums... Tone down my comments? No comments. Best regards, Jose PS: Why don't you relax and take a look on my recently uploaded SlideShow "Um dia... em Agosto"/"One day... in August". Good music, nice views, steam trains... I would appreciate your comments on it. Indeed.
  16. Hi Frank, I just replied to last post from Ray and I would ask you kindly to read it like it was for you as well. After all, subject is the same and only one, and both of you are hardly trying to help me on it. Thanks once more. I am using, since it came out, PTE versio 6.5.7. In my PHILIPS BD player I am using COMPONENT OUT, and in my plasma I select YUV (my former mistake, as I told you RGB). So, signal can come out of BD player as PROGRESSIVE, but only can "enter" in the plasma if is 480, 575 or 720 lines, not 1080. As I told, I got to produce a MP4 file 2-pass, 24000 kbps, 60p fps. With this file I could burn a BD which I can say is 99% good. I "give" 1% to those 3 trembling instants I refered to Ray. Nevertheless, I am in doubt concerning image "sharpness", I "think" that it decreased... Tomorrow I "must" show for the first time my project to an audience, using the BD disc, that's why I was a little bit in a hurry. Lucky me that I got a 99% good BD! But I will follow your sugestion next, I mean, make a MP4 file 1280x720, 60p fps (I will use 2-pass 24000 kbps in order to try this maximum, and 1-pass 100% quality, as you say, if necessary). I will use same COMPONENT OUT from PHILIPS, set output to 720p and hope that my plasma will indicate YUV, 720/60p. Of course, I will burn BD in NERO using 24 fps, as it is the one which allows PROGRESSIVE frames. I will compare final result with my actual 99% good BD! Best regards, Jose
  17. Hi Ray, Thanks for all your help which I appreciate even more because not only you are trying to solve this particular problem of mine, as well as it makes me learn so many other aspects related to video, PTE, etc.. I am really lucky! So you are studing my project. Complex it is indeed, I have that notion. My computer has an "INTEL CORE i5-750", 4 cores processor, and PTE VideoBuilder takes 02:23:12 making a MP4 (H.264) file, 2-pass, bitrate 24000 kbps, 60p fps. This is one of last tests I made, and you know what? It seems that this is it! Burning a BD with this file I got a 100% smooth and non-trembling image on my SONY plasma, using same PHILIPS BD home player! However, with 3 exceptions where image trembles a LITTLE bit, so LITTLE that almost every people will not see. These moments are (all of them only in the very start of the clip, not during all the clip lenght, and all those clips are 2,683 seconds long): Slide 58 - 08:02,634 Slide 66 - 08:55,984 Slide 74 - 09:59,968 You can notice such trembling on the moving guitar, which side moves faster than the center field of picture. So I think that solution has been to make the MP4 at 60 progressive fps instead of my usual 25p fps, or even 50p fps which I tried as well. I used 24000 kbps (maximum available in PTE VideoBuilder) in order to try, and I became astonished with good result, comparing with my former tests and results. However, I think (will it be my imagination...?) that image definition (I mean, resolution, or sharpness, or whatever...) is not so good as the one I got with same 24000 kbps but at 25p fps. I would like you to comment this particular aspect: is there any reason to a "sharpness" decrease because of using 60p fps instead of 25p fps? My thinking is yes, there is a reason, and GSPOT Frame Quality justifies such reason. At 25p fps Frame Quality is 0,463 At 60p fps Frame Quality is 0,193 (42% of the above 0,463) Is it so? Now, replying to your other points: I always use MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC HOME CINEMA to test (and see audio/video bitrates, droped frames, etc.) my MP4 video files and usualy I have no trembling problems (I do have them with VLC). Anyhow, I do think that my computer is not powerful enough to solve this actual high complexity of my project. But this never was a big disapointment for me because I knew that the resulting Blu-Ray disc would be perfect! In fact, when "converting" this MP4 into BD (using NERO) I knew that NERO software would care of this complexity, taking it the hours it would take. This was the reason why I thought that problem was PTE VideoBuilder producing a bad MP4 from start. No, at this moment I can't find nobody with a home BD player and a FULL HDTV set. Yes, I would love to try an HDMI connection, it's the correct connection, not mine (component YUV, not RGB as I told before to Frank). But at the time my plasma was built (2001) HDMI connection was not invented yet! One more point: This last "good" BD (made with NERO, as usual) is 1080i 25 fps (not 1080p) and plasma indicates 1080/50i. Before, I had used same MP4 file but burning BD at 1080p 24 fps (in fact this is the only option NERO has to make 1080p). Result was very, very bad, I mean, lots of trembling everywhere. Why does this happen? Is it because my SONY plasma is not able to show 1080p? However, the commercial BD "Mamma Mia" is 1080p, my PHILIPS plays it well and plasma shows it very well, however indicating 1080/60i. Strange, is it not? Thanks once more, Ray. Regards, Jose
  18. Hi Frans, Are you waiting for a reply since 03 January? You may go on waiting and waiting... This is a Forum nobody cares, so it seems. I had a similar problem and I had to post my help request in the main Forum which is PicturesToExe. May be you should do the same! By the way, I think that "our" problem could be more or less the same: I want best video quality in order to burn BD discs, but it seems to me that PTE doesn't have too many experts on this subject. Except "potwnc" member, as well as "stardealer" member, who are now really giving me their best support. Try to "enter" in our discussion: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12750&view=findpost&p=82321 Regards, Jose
  19. No, not possible! I myself can download the WINDOWS file using the link. What do you think I can do?
  20. Hi Frank, It's amazing the way you gave all explanations in your former post! I must say that I understood every word and I thank you for that because I always like (need...) to know how things happen, and in fact I was very far away from all this process. Thanks again for your time and care. I must now "process" all this information in my own mind, and also wait for potwnc sugestions in order to decide what to do next. In this meantime, may be I passed a wrong information to you: "The plasma owner's manual itself says that this plasma only show interlaced image, not progressive" In fact, this is not quite true! I attache the Owner's Manual page where you can see that for HDTV 480, 575 and 720 lines, 50p and 60p appear. Not for HDTV 1080 lines, where only 50i and 60i appear, which is our case. So, this monitor is able to "process" progressive frames... but not at 1080 lines, as I think I can conclude. Does this change something? I will come back to you as soon as I have some progress. Thanks again for your trouble. Best regards, Jose
  21. Sorry, I just checked and everything is ok and working. People are downloading and I myself tried and I downloaded. I checked WINDOWS file, but I think MAC file is good as well. WINDOWS link is: www.mediafire.com/?if1hb8cw2w3wrw7 Please, try again. Jose
  22. Hi Frank, Thanks so much for all your detailed explanations and sugestions. 1. My playback system is a home BD-Player PHILIPS BDP 7300 (BD discs). I see such BD movies in my plasma monitor SONY PFM-42 B1E (dated 2001, first SONY home plasma in the world!) and this monitor is prepared to accept HDTV signal from any BD player. And it really does! I can see "Mama Mia" BD, for example, and it shows at 1080/60i. My home made BD discs show at 1080/50i. No BDs at all show at 50p or 60p. The plasma owner's manual itself says that this plasma only show interlaced image, not progressive. So, my first point is: has this fact something to do with my problem? Which is "trembling images" in case of higher video bitrates? And Manual says something else that may be important for our discussion, and only now I am paying attention to it: - INTERNAL HIGH-PERFORMANCE SCAN CONVERTER: The monitor has a high performance scan converter. Using a unique algorithm, the monitor processes signals in a wide range of formats - Video, HDTV, PC, etc.. - INPUT 1 CONNECTOR: RGB/YUV (D-sub 15-pin) connects to the RGB signal or component (YUV) signal output of a computer or a piece of video equipment. In fact, I have my PHILIPS BD player connected by means of such INPUT 1, RGB connection. Something else: This plasma monitor is 42". However, resolution is 1024 x 1024 dots, beeing horizontal pitch 0,90 mm, and vertical pitch 0,51 mm. So, it is not a 1920x1080 resolution monitor, and I think that such INTERNAL HIGH-PERFORMANCE SCAN CONVERTER is to convert 1920x1080 image into the available 1024x1024. That's why I had to "manipulate" (on the remote control) the horizontal expansion in order to get a non-distorted image. I made this from the start and I always get a non-distorted image when I play any BD disc (commercial or mine). In conclusion, I can say that I have not (yet...!) a "true" HDTV plasma TV set, but when I will have one I want my actual BD discs play at maximum possible quality. And again: do you think that this CONVERSION can be the cause of my trembling images? 2. You sugest me to make a MP4 file, 1920x1080, 60p, 1-pass at 80% quality. I will try, of course, but I comment from now: - 1-pass gives lower image quality than 2-pass - quality 80% gives lower quality than 100% So, may be I can get a "non-trembling" image, but I will get, for sure, an image of lower quality. And this lower quality is what I want to avoid by all means! After all, do you mean that it will be impossible at all to get maximum possible quality without trembling? Please, kindly comment situation of my plasma, ok? Thanks once more and regards, Jose
  23. Hi Frank, You are right. How to delete it? I will comment framerate later, ok? Thanks, Jose Sorry Frank, I already found the way to delete it and save, and thanks for your advice. I don't mind at all Forum members know my private email address, but you are right, problem is spam. Concerning framerate, I can let you know that one of my tests when trying to find better solutions of creating a better video file out of my PTE project, was: MP4 (H.264) 1920x1080 at 50 fps 2 pass at 10000 kbps Etc.. Final BD disc was not enough good: images trembling, etc., the usual. I know that I used 10000 kbps instead of maximum available 24000 kbps or even my "usual" 16000 kbps. Do you think that 50 fps at 24000 kbps solves the problem? I can try today. (50 fps and not 60 fps because here we use PAL system) Another detail: I use to analyse my MP4 files with GSPOT. Among other values it shows the so-called "Frame Quality" which formula is Video bitrate (bits/sec) / (H resolution * V resolution * Frame rate) 10000000 / (1920 * 1080 * 50) = 0,0965 (a very, very low frame quality) Obviously, if I make it at 25 fps (PAL) Frame Quality value duplicates (= 0,1930) If I make it at 24000 kbps and 50 fps, Frame Quality would be 0,2316 Ok. I think that PTE Video Builder should allow some 40000 kbps in order to allow a much better Frame Quality (0,386 at 50 fps or 0,772 at 25 fps). Because Frame Quality has to do with each image quality. In fact, we can "smooth" the movements (50 fps) but we loose image quality. What do you think on this? Thanks and regards, Jose
  24. Hi Ray, Thanks very much for your nice words and for all the trouble you are having with this problem concerning a professional quality BD out of a PTE project. Reading your first comments, I underline: I can show you how to create a 1920x1080 video file that will produce a BD of equal quality - and use this as a case study for other PTE users on how to do that. and But video on Blu-ray disc cannot produce this same quality. This is not a limitation of PTE - it is a limitation of video technology. So you must produce your slideshow within the limitations of current video technology. Considering both above statements, I would say that your "magic" is to produce/create a 1920x1080 video file (from a PTE project) with which we can burn a BD disc of equal equality of PTE.exe itself. Is it? That's what I want. For sure, this "magic" will take place out of PTE VideoBuilder, as this one is not capable by itself. So, how to? On the other hand, I am confused because all of your other comments/examples concerning "zoom/pan speed", "grainy old resized photos afecting HD quality" and "moiré patterns also affecting HD quality", I am well aware of such quality loss but I think (I am not quite sure) that these points have nothing to do with my problem which is "image trembling"/"stop&go image"/"not a continuous and smooth movement" that BD disc shows. I would call your attention for 3 clips where BD failing is clearly noticed: 02:53,161 - lasting 2,860 sec - Start of music, steam engine departing 02:56,021 - lasting 2,860 sec - Wheels of steam engine 03:31,281 - lasting 5,320 sec - Electricity pilar passing by In PTE.exe these clips show 100% pefect in terms of a clear and not trembled image, movements are 100% uniform and continuous. The very small characters on the wheels can be read while wheels are moving. The electricity pilar is "focused" and doesn't tremble while it passes by. This does not happen at all in BD. Those are the problems I really have. Ok, may be you can give me the solution. Sure, I will send you everything you need to study the case, it will be my pleasure, but, please, just let me know exactly what you want. Please confirm: a sole folder with all JPEG (some BMP) used in the show, including masks, etc., as well as the used mp3 file, and also the PTE project file itself (the one we click to open the project). Is it? Or something else? This folder is 675 MB and I hope everything is there. I can upload to MediaFire and e-mail you respective (private) download link. Please, kindly let me have your e-mail address. Thanks for all and best regards, Jose
  25. Hi Bert, Here I am again! I just saw this "Halcyon Hall" project of yours. After all... I had to see the work of fellow members who spend time commenting my own work... I think it's fair! I was delighted with your show! Great, great work! And your HDR technique simply fabulous! Starting by the idea of keeping a memory of such nice building, till the choosen music, everything results in a very good and nice show. Comments still welcome? Here I go! I would only point out one small detail and should appreciate to hear your opinion on it. In my judgement, I would try to make transitions more "somewhat synchronized" with the music, I mean, the more dramatic music points should underline some transitions and not be 100% independent of them. In fact, I found music very much adequated to the "dramatic spirit" of the show, because this music is dramatic itself. However, all along the show I feel that music "runs" quite apart of the visual sequence, which, by the way, I found too much "monocordic", I mean, without rithm, without dramatism (the sequence, not the photos one by one, which are indeed very hard and dramatic). Some more zoom-ins, "violent" zoom-ins could add, as well, to such dramatism, in accordance with hard points of the music. Please, feel free to say that I am thinking 100% wrong. May be I am, indeed. Congratulations and best regards, Jose
