  1. I know this has probably been asked before but please could someone clarify? I want a particular piece of music to start at a particular point in my slideshow which is mid way through. Is there a way of locking the music file to the slides so I can fit the other music around it? Thanks JOy
  2. Hi I Have created a few slideshows and saved them as an .exe file which play beautifully on my PC. However when I burnt 3 of them onto a CD and gave it to a friend he couldnt open them on either his PC or laptop. I think it will be to do with how his security is setup but is there a format I can burn to which gives .exe quality and which will be playable from a CD on all computers?? Thanks Joy
  3. Hi Dom - I am the friend of Stephs who started the topic (couldn't remember my login whilst at her house!) - Thanks for your replies - yes I have embedded video into my site via you tube like your example above but I wanted it to look a more integral part of the page and also be running when the viewer gets to the page instead of having to start it. Like on this website: http://www.loveandbride.com (not that I am too impressed with the huge amount of text below the video!) When I right click on the movie it brings up a site called monoslideshow - which I have looked at and it seems a bit complicated and also incurs a cost for downloading their software - I just wondered if this could be created and embedded directly from PTE which I have rather than showing the you tube frame and logo etc on the page? Hope this makes sense a bit more now. Thanks
  4. Thanks very much! - could you suggest how much I should allow in terms of file dimensions on top of the output resolution for zooming in a PTE slideshow.
  5. Please could anyone tell me the quickest way of finding the size of my monitor in pixel dimensions? I don't have a handbook. Sorry to ask such a basic question. Also what would be the maximum size a TV monitor might be? I am doing a slideshow which will be made into a DVD for TV viewing but have no idea if the size of TV - assuming it is large - say 52" plasma - is there a way of working out the pixel dimensions for this? Thanks Joy
  6. Once again - you have solved my problem! Thanks to all of you - a combination of all these techniques acheived the desired result - brilliant forum! Joy
  7. Please could anyone explain how to ensure objects that are present on 2 or more slides are in exactly the same place on both - at the moment I adjust one slide and then move to the next but have to do it by eye to make sure they line up with the last and often they are jut a tiny bit out which causes a jump/jolt when the slide show runs - sorry not to explain it very clearly - i am burning the midnigt oil! Thanks JOy
  8. Thanks very much to Peter & Lin - I have done it by manually juggling before I read Lin's reply - but I'll try that too - Thanks again - maybe you could let me know if the developers come up with a solution because I love Dom's templates!
  9. Thanks for your reply Peter - but whilst I have been waiting I have other questions - Its probably best if I give you a full run down of what I am trying to do! I have a slide show built which has 149 slides and 35mins worth of music - I want the show to end when the music ends but there also 3 sections in it made up of Dom templates for effects with the images so obviously they will have to run at their predetermined speed. I therefore want these to remain at their correct speed but adjust the timimngs of the other slides which aren't part of a template accordingly to end with the music - I know its a bit complicated but if there is a way around it I'd be grateful of your advice (or anyone else that may have done this too!) Thanks Joy
  10. I Think I understand the difference between the option to 'synchronise music & slides' and 'Auto spread slides along music' from previoes topics I have posted but neither of them when checked do what I am trying to achieve which is actually make the slideshow and music files end at the same time - please can someone suggest what I am doing wrong ?? Thanks Joy
  11. Thanks thats really useful info - which helps sort out this minefield!
  12. thanks - I have been looking at your website this morning and have asked for some help on a similar topic via your contact form (email ) Thanks - i will have a look at moyea also looking at swishvideo3 - do you have any experience of this? thanks again Joy
  13. I want to embed a small .pte show into my website and I uderstand that it has to be in .swf or .flv format. Is this possible within pte? If not then please can someone recommend the best preferably free software for converting .pte (or .avi) to flash? Thanks Joy
  14. What is the best size to resize my images to for creating a slideshow and the outputting it in DVD format please? Without any loss of quality! Thanks
  15. Is there any disadvantage to burning a DVD video from an .iso file - is it inferior quality?
  16. I have a lenthy pte show which I am trying to create a DVD video from using the wnsoft video builder/burner. The rendering of the show takes approx one hour and goes fine but the project fails at the point of starting to burn every time. I have tried burnig at a lower speed to no avail. I am now about to try burning the DVD from the .iso file in Nero - can anyone tell me if this results in an inferior quality end product? Thanks
  17. Thanks very much to both of you for useful info yet again!!
  18. I have 5 pictures taken on my high drive setting at 3 frames per second. They are of a group of people running towards the camera. I took them specifically with the intention of showing them very fast one after another to re-create the feeling of movement. Is it best to put them in my show individually and reduce their duration to less than a second with minimum fade time or is there a way I can create this effect on the first one by adding the other photos as objects on top of it - I have tried this but cant find how to reduce the opacity of each so they blend into each other. Tahnks again
  19. I am creating a DVD of the slideshow but I am unsure about what settings to put the software on - ie progressive interlaced etc My main concern though is what to size my images to for a 32" flat screen monitor (and also a 16:9 laptop monitor) and also what resolution to set them at?? (72 seems a bit low for a good quality TV monitor Thanks
  20. I want to make a slideshow to view on a 32" fllat screen TV - I have made a previous one and downsized large images taken on a Nikon D90 to 600x800px and 240pix/inch but when viewed on the TV they seemed very 'over saturated' - not out of focus exactly but fine detail didnt really show too well. I was expecting a little better quality than what I got! Is there a better size and res for a flat screen TV? The actual screen dimensions are 71cm x 39cm. Thanks
  21. I may have missed something very obvious but I didn't see the option to burn more than one copy of a slideshow to DVD. Could anyone tell me if there is a way of burning 2 copies without having to go through all the rendering again? Also what can the .iso version of the file be used for? (It gives the option tio create this or not) Thanks
  22. Could anyone tell me if there is a way of forcing pte 5.6 to 'reconnect' missing files if the 'pictures not found' message comes up when the project opens? or can this be manually done by browsing for the new location and telling the program to reconnect. Like in elements organizer?}
  23. Hi I have created a small 10 slide show using one off 'Doms' free templates and I want to add this in to an existing slideshow - is it possible to add in an .exe file into an existing show?? or is there another way around it? Thanks
