  1. Lin Thanks. However, in my first attempt, the PNG transparency was larger than the combined width of the pictures and they were off to one side. This resulted in PTE producing a result that used one picture plus half of the next one. Does the side gap have to be the same as the bottom one? I found it worked if I cropped the PNG so that it was the same size as the images. Thanks for all your hard work producing the tutorials. They have been invaluable. Regards Roger
  2. Lin Thanks for the tutorial. However, two small points for other novices, the PNG background has to be the same size as the total pictures (or maybe the pictures need to be central) and the time for the slide needs to be set separately for at least the length required by the Count x Repeats x the Interval(ms)+ the Offset(ms). Roger
  3. Are the MP3 files from iTunes? I did have problems of this nature as the Codec from Apple is incompatible with PTE. I now run all my MP3s through Audacity before using them. Roger
  4. 'Sounds' great! However, if you have sound on/activated by a slide, will you be able to see the waveform as you can when it is on the Project Options? Thanks Roger
  5. Thanks for the tips. Both useful but have found that the 'Add Sound' option only works if you have used this facility to add the sound. If you have added the sound by Customising the Slide, this does not work. The Project Report Option is the most comprehensive method and provides a lot of other useful information. Regards Roger
  6. Found and downloaded. Seems to do the trick but will give it a good workout tonight. Thanks for the speedy reply. Roger
  7. If you have a large project (300 slides) with the music on individual slides rather than on the project, is there an easy way to find which slides hold the music, especially as there is no waveform on the timeline? At the moment I have to keep a manual record but this can be difficult when adding and removing slides. Also, if the sound is on the project but 'Synchronise' is not ticked, why does synchronise work in the small editing window but not in full screen? Thanks Roger
  8. What you need to do is add all the music, then take off the option 'Auto Spread slides along music' (Project Options). Once you have done that you need to go to 'Timeline' and show the waveform. You will then need to manually move the slides to lineup with the appropriate music. Roger
  9. I started to use WAV files because of Codec problems and was advised to convert them back to MP3 (I used Audacity) otherwise I could experience problems. I would try this or use another MP3 to see if you still have problems. Roger
  10. Yes probably but there are 2 problems with sound that need to be addressed. One is MP4 and the other is the Codec problem with some MP3 files that seem to come from iTunes. I don't think you can call MP4 as proprietry as this is the format used by many Video cameras and hybrid cameras like the Sanyo Xacti. I use this latter to capture sound bites for AVs. I assume that MP4 is used by the new DSLRs. In both cases I have had to use iTunes to export them as a WAV and then use Audacity to re-compile them as MP3. This is a very fiddly performance. It would be good if PTE could handle these directly, however,I have been looking and there does seem to be some free conversion software out there, like NCH Switch Audio Converter but has anyone tried it or can recommend another one. Roger
  11. Point taken and have downloaded Audacity and the Lame encoder and this worked thanks. I have noticed that the problem seems more prevelant with older tunes. Is there any logic to this? Is there a possibilty that this problem could be resolved in a later version? Thanks again Roger
  12. Reading this and previous topic, I have found that I can correct the problem by using iTunes to convert the MP3 to WAV and then use this file in PTE. Is there any reson to convert it back to MP3 before using in PTE? Roger
