It would be nice to arrange slides in slide list in chronological order of the time taken, not easy if you have multiple cameras with different file numbering. I am unclear what "Date" is used in the existing Sort set up.

Indeed well done Eric. Living in Kent, I know Dungeness quite well and often get the comment from non-photographers "Why would you want to go there!" - especially in weather like you had. But you have depicted very well and captured the atmosphere with your music adding to it. Glad to see someone putting a show on the Forum.

Oh by the way, the meter I downloaded for free comes from Darkwood Designs who were also very helpful in getting it installed on W.10. I shall make a donation.

Yippee! Problem solved. Dell had installed a Dell Audio program which has a device called Maxx Audio 4 which is supposed to give studio quality sound. I've switched this off and now I can hear the sound difference between all four tracks with my peak meter readings being 6.0, 5.2, 12.2 and 18.8 respectively. Thank you all for helping and Peter for the little tutorial. Now back to the show.

Further to above, I have now acquired a free screen levels meter and have put together a short test program. This consists of four sound tracks of identical music but each one with a different setting of the sound envelope. The levels are 100%, 196%, 49% and 25%. I find when playing these tracks in turn the sound to my ears and my meters are exactly the same for the first three and only reduces on the 25% level. The peak readings on my dB meter are - 5.3, - 5.3, 5.3 and -10.4.
If anyone could spare the time would they do likewise and let me know the result whether by ear or meter and in case there is a W.10 issue what O/S they have. If this result is expected then a not too technical explanation would be helpful.

Have downloaded latest driver for Realtek even though Device Manager said the existing driver was up to date. Not cured my problem but I think part of my problem was that the level of the music at 100% on the PTE envelope was up to 85% of the maximuim before distortion takes place and increasing it by 6db would have taken it over the top. I guess PTE or W.10 stops it from doing that although it does not explain why my club's laptop (on Vista) did make it sound a lot louder. More experimentation and back to the club. Thanks for you help.

All settings are correct but as show was conceived in W.7 I will do a small test show entirely in W.10 and put project file on here to see if same effect as I am getting is replicated on other computers. Maybe later or tomorrow. Thanks for you interest.

I am having big trouble setting sound levels for my current project. For a particular section I want to increase the sound of the music dramatically for a short section. Judging it by ear I found increasing the sound envelope to the maximum, plus 6.0db of 200% seemed to make hardly any difference on my computer speakers (new) but when played through my A/V club's laptop, projector and sound system it certainly did. It fact all the levels were all over the place but they sound okay on my system.
I have recently upgraded to W.10 and re-installed PTE. Any ideas?

I also have problems uploading from PTE to YouTube as it seems to have difficulty accepting my user name and password that I use for YouTube. As Eric says "don't know why" so for a few extra clicks it's easier to upload directly.

Thanks Ken, that does it. Just upgraded to windows 10 and the Windows Edge browser which my icons default to. I will have to go and change them all to Chrome unless a quick fix ins in the offing.

Thanks Dave, I think you have probably solved it. Obviously some technical reason why it has to be which I am not interested in and will have another go in the morning when my concentration levels will be higher.

I have had this problem a number of times before and thought I had found a solution but if I did I have now forgotten it.
I open a slide in O & A and then ADD a number of slides to it (not as childs). These slides I want to reduce in size, rotate and position around the base image. I highlight one of the slides use the handles to reduce it to the size I want then rotate using the rotate handle and then I click inside the image to drag it into position. At this point the highlighted slide reverts to the base slide and that moves when I drag it rather than I want. How do I keep the slide I want highlighted and therefore drag it manually rather than using Pan figures.

PS after about 6 hours work yesterday, I have all our wedding images edited & whittled them down to 180, with the video clips still to do. Incidentally, there were 4 official photographers!!!!
In Toronto a few weeks ago and came across a wedding with 4 official photographers and a videographer, then plus me! Must be catching

Lin's method is the one I use as it is easy to understand the principle but still can me difficult if there are a lot of twists and turns and acute angles on the route. The positioning, direction and timing of the coloured jpg has to be adjusted at each turn so as to achieve a nice constant speed of the resulting moving route indicator.

Thanks for your comments. Long-shot of the cathedral was grabbed v.quickly from the car on the way home whilst holding up the traffic. Tried zooming in to crop out the roof but then cathedral is very tight in the frame but probably better. Added a few seconds to the background green at the end but don't think I want to fade from green background to black as green is the background all the way through. Thanks for your interest.

After a long period of silence I have at last posted "Stations of the Cross" on www.slideshowclub.com/ . Wood carvings using 122 different woods by William Fairbank is on permanent loan at Lincoln Cathedral and this sequence contrasts the new with the old within the background of the Cathedral. A commentary describes the various stations. I hope you enjoy.

A really well thought out and put together show. I liked the black and white then counterpointed by the colour for present day plus the photography was very good. Hate the mini zooms, I find them so distracting as I seem to watch the edges of the images to see if it is a mini zoom rather than looking at the image itself. Not sure what the point of them is - maybe it's me, I wonder what others think? But thanks for sharing.

Cannot think of a reason why you would want to sort a show out according to "Date Modified"
