  1. Fade in - grab the second icon from left (with the blue line through it ) - pinch, (by holding down the left button), the blue line top or bottom like using tweezers and move it down (or up) to the centre, or any point between. Move along to the right and repeat to your taste. To anchor the 'spot' pinch and release in the same position. Fade out in reverse, similarly. Don't forget - Ctrl & z will undo previous act. Play with it - have fun. (Easier to do than describe!) John
  2. I don't understand this. Should I get the latest version or not? I have Norton. I like Audacity. By the way, how can I combine several sound tracks into one? When I start another, it appears on its own! John
  3. Hi, I re-read the information and found that one only has to select the saved file (containing the saved key) when asked to 'load key'. This must have changed from an earlier time when I felt sure one had to delete the quotes on each end. Anyway it worked smoothly and proves the advice - read the instructions! Thanks for your help John
  4. I am transferring PTE to my laptop. Do I cut off the "=" from the front of the key and the =" from the rear? Can't seem to get it to work. John
  5. Hi Bill - would it be impertinent to ask if we could all benefit from this wisdom? John
  6. Many thanks Ron, very helpful. I must try this when I have mastered Layers John
  7. Many thanks Ron, very helpful. I must try this when I have mastered Layers John
  8. copy/paste key file to desktop - when you are asked for the key enter that file. I have just done this. Hope I have got it right!
  9. Well done - brilliant - loved the show. Any tips to pass on!!?
  10. Is anyone going to tell us how to get pictures popping out of, and appearing in different places on, the screen, as in BLACK COUNTRY for instance!?
  11. [QUOTE=lnelson,Jan 21 2004, 08:01 PM]HI. .........and then like maybe 4 other photos on top of it and then the top photos will turn/fade into a different photo and maybe the next photo will be in a different spot on the screen. Then after alittle while the background image will change or even be a solid color.
  12. Madagascar! - Beautiful! How do you do it! Is there no limit to the talent of PTE members? Thank you one and all. I don't have time to do any myself; too busy reading the threads and watching the shows. God bless Broadband! Happy New Year to members everywhere. John
  13. Happy to add - Seasons Greetings from the hometown of Eric Morecambe in Lancashire,UK - and the best of Health through 2004 to all members wherever you are. (Lovely weather up here Ron, but changeable!) Love this so friendly forum. Would be nice if more would fill in further details which I find interesting. Cheers, John
  14. Nice to see PTE mentioned in and obtainable from the Agfa newsletter http://www.agfanet.com/newsletter/?id=4256
  15. Didn't I read somewhere that the registration code is for life?
  16. Hi Carol - Beautiful! That is the production and the plant. What is the plant by the way? Is it possible that we lesser mortals, if we are good, could be privy to the expert advice you gleaned from Oleg? I am sure a lot of members are eager to know. When I was watching your show I wanted to ask 'how did you do that?'. Is it a matter of layers? It is good to see other transitions used and not just the dissolve. I am still making my way to the starting line with this hobby, but would love to produce something like that. Well done. John
  17. Thanks for the advice Alan, I spent a very pleasant evening following the links - so much to take on board. For those tracing the same path I would advise trying avworld.org as the Maureen Albright lead didn't work for me. John
  18. May I add my appreciation to you Al, for a superb job well done, and to you Truelight for sharing with us the questions you posed and the replies from Al that we all wanted to know. As you might be aware I am one of the newcomers to PTE and I am grateful for all the help and insight generously provided by you knowledgeable contributors. Thanks a million John
  19. Hi Just to let you know that I have registered PTE. This site is almost part of the daily routine and I get a lot of pleasure from its content , and thank the contributors for their help. Will be around for some time yet I am still interested in learning of the other programmes members use along with PTE. Thanks, John
  20. Hi, Just to let you know that I have registered PTE. The downloading problem seems to be due to glitches during the download. Repeating the process straight away ultimately results in success. I marvel at the craftsmanship of the shows and enjoy them immensely. Thank to everyone for your help and advice. I make this a daily call, and look forward to continued association with you all. Perhaps one day I will be able to contribute in like manner. John
  21. Excellent reasoning, thanks Jim. I feel sure I will finish up using it. Other observations are still of interest. Does anyone use a Movie programme for slide shows? Cheers, John
  22. Will do. Thanks for the advice To be honest I don't know. I am treading waters I don't really understand, but learning all the time! Some come through cleanly and I can view them, some come with an error code, and one I found lurking in the PTE folder in My Documents. There doesn't seem to be a constant anywhere. If I note anything I will post it. I have recently changed from Tiscali (Lineone) to BT Broadband - had some bother, but my son sorted that out (we silver servers need all the help we can get ). Perhaps that had something to do with it. But like I said, must move on. Anything of note will be posted.as to your Have done.I do appreciate the help offered, which is gratefully received.
  23. Hi It has been suggested that I pose these thoughts here. I do so mainly in order to ascertain the benefits of using PTE in preference to other programmes. It has many devotees who produce remarkably successful works, that I feel I would like to do join in, but - I have PINNACLE STUDIO 8 and HFX, SERIF MOVIE PLUS, and XP MOVIE MAKER, and ROXIO CREATOR 6 - all of which are capable of producing audio visual or slide shows. I must state here that I am at the very beginning of the learning and evaluation process with these, and I am also 'playing' with transfering audio to PC (Audacity mainly). Question - Why would I need PicturesToExe? I like everything about it that can be deduced from the trial version, particularly the clarity of the output, but what does it do that the others can't? Are ALL of the PTE presentations available through these pages made solely with PTE? If not what other programmes are involved?
  24. Hi again (I started this post and then lost it - I hope this doesn't turn up as a duplicate!) Thank you all for your suggestions and assistance. I have 'found' ENGLAND 2003' in the PTE folder, and it works. I have also downloaded others including BLACK COUNTRY, my favourite to date, and am bound to ask "how is it done?" So all would seem to be working well enough. I must move on and would like to repeat the question I asked somewhere some time ago. I have PINNACLE STUDIO 8 and HFX, SERIF MOVIE PLUS, and XP MOVIE MAKER, and ROXIO CREATOR 6 - all of which are capable of producing audio visual shows. Question - Why would I need PicturesToExe? I like everything about it that can be deduced from the trial version, but what does it do that the others can't? Are ALL of the PTE presentations made solely with PTE? If not what other programmes are involved? (Oh dear have I overdone it!) - for now- Thanks again John
  25. By the way, I have obtained trial version of Winzip 8.1 to do these. John
