MICHEL you are right, GUIDICELLI Maurice's slideshows are brilliant and very pleasant Thanks for sharing ! PS By the way Michel, have you problems with your forum ? It is down since yesterday !

Thank you very much Daniel for your kind comment. I am really astonished by the number of downloads in just 10 days !!! The aviation enthusiast community is a very great one ! I am very enjoyed for many reasons, first of all for my friend who "ordered" me this slideshow as it helped him greatly to obtain subsidies for this year meeting. The second reason is that it demonstrates that there is no need of very expensive and high tech equipment as all these photos where taken with very basic non reflex pocket numeric cameras (2 to 4 Megapixels !!!) and by pure young amateurs in difficult situations. I am also pleased to see that the very basic and simple fade in/out effect (nearly all of my effects), which is often seen as boring or getting us sleep, is not so bad ! Many thanks to Igor for his tremendous jewel and to Bill Hines for his kindness and for giving us the chance to share with others our work on his web site. Have a good day

Hello Sorry if it's not the right topic but I found a very little curiosity with PTE's timeline (hope this was not yet notified) : - Timeline mode - clic on the Play button - the music starts and the cursor goes straight on - as soon as the cursor is in a position such as the first slide label is no more visible, clic the button Pause - You will then not be able to return to the first slide. To return to the first slide you must clic on the Stop button and then the Play button and, immediately after, the Pause button in order to see again the first slide's label. Not vital, just a curiosity

Sorry ... music titles are 1 part : Hans Zimmer / film music, Crimson Tide (USS Alabama in France) 2 part : Hot Butter / Popcorn 3 part : Medwyn Goodall / Galahad It was a deliberate choice as I found that the very basic fade in/out effect suited very well to the idea I have of I flight in a glider... smooth, silent, relaxing. I found also that rendering the mood with the help of the music and the photos would be annihilated by tricky and multiple disturbing effects Thank you very much for your comments and maybe, I gave you an idea for a splendid hobby Happy flyings

Hello the PTE community As I incidentally found a photo backed up on a DVD with abnormalities (strange colored lines), I tested a few of my backup DVD's and found then errors making some photos unusable. Since this discovery I systematically check the CRC (checksum) of my original photos and compare the results with the CRC of the backed up photos. For this purpose I use a little free software (CRC french program but intuitive to handle). I found an error frequence of about 0.5 to 1 % (very slight changes to big abnormalities) which is not sensible with environmental conditions (with or without running programs during the backup sequence, external or internal hard drive, CD + hard drive to DVD, etc...). With the help of the CRC software I immediately know what photos have problems and I reburn them twice on the same DVD (with a little change in their name) to have a faultless DVD My question : - Do you systematically check the quality of you DVD's ? / How and with wich software if so ? - Do you find the same problem ? / Did you find a solution if so and what is that solution ? DVD burner Pionneer DVD RW DVR-107D Burning software Nero Burning Rom Sony or TDK DVD's Burning at 1 X Be indulgent for my written english

I personally use a free french software, Renomme from François-Pierre Langlois, wich makes use of EXIF informations to rename the jpeg files. It is in french but very friendly and intuitive to handle with. I then save my photos on a CD or a DVD and catalog them with a very very basic, old (1999 !!!) and free software CatFish If it can be of some help

Vol d'onde = wave flight I am not a specialist but as I know there are 2 types of soaring : thermal flying where the pilot looks after ascendant winds generated by the earth surface heated by the sun dynamic flying making the most of the winds and in this case there are 2 types of soaring ridge flying with the help of the winds going upwards along the mountains slope wave flying where the pilots searches the ondulatory form of the air generated in altitude, high above the mountains.

Thank you for your compliment Your are right. This slideshow (La tête dans les nuages - With head in the clouds) is still available on my PBase space here

Hello My slideshow "Oh happy days" is downloadable on Bill's site, beechbrook.com It relates a meeting (camp) of young french and german glider pilots during a week of last august. All photos are from the participants themselves. The slideshow was created at the demand of a friend of mine who is also the organisator of this meeting. The goal was to render the very good mood of this camp and to use it as a support to give arguments to receive financial help for this year meeting. This unusual type of "argument" largely facilitated the task of my friend :D Happy flyings Comments, negative or positive, welcome

Very childlike. you just have to reconstruct the original picture by moving the picture tiles. Jean-Pierre, absolutely astonishing what you did with PTE. Incredible !!!! What a piece of work !!!
-
No problem Just make this : Menu Project Project Options... Screen tab enable "Fit to screen (Enlarge image to fit screen)" That's all ! Regards Patrick
-
I too think that "Fitting to screen" ticked for a slideshow wich is viewed in a higher screen resolution then that with wich it was created diminishes seriously the images quality and can give very bad results. I fully agree with Alrobin's idea of a message file or an introduction slide. By the way all transitions are ticked by default and new PTE users often forget this particularity !!! Could only one transition be ticked be default ?

Hello Tom Wowwwwww !!! Very great rythm Very good sound/slides transition synchronizations. Mixing plane shots with public area ground shots gives us a good idea of what such a feete can be ! A very interesting introduction sequence and a relaxing end slide. Beautiful aircrafts... but not only planes are sweet I have 2 remarks : - navigation bar is not useful and can be hidden without regret - ... and by the way, the mouse cursor also ! A minor remark : sometimes the rythm is so fast that for the spectators confort it could have been interesting to use small incrusted images instead to stay all the time with full screen slides A regret : Full afterburner and full rate propeller engine noises !!!!! A Mustang or an Eagle at full speed over the runway must be a great experience A question : I know, I know, the music is very very well known... but I forgot the title. What it is ? Tom, BRAVO ! Sorry for my poor english

This slideshow is just intended as a "best wishes" postcard for this year end. Bill pointed out to me, with humour, that I used the same music as he for his slideshow "England - The West Country" (page 5 of Beechbrook PTE's presentations). It was absolutely fortuitous and it is amusing to see that there are some important common points for these 2 slideshows : only one type of transition and slides in full screen. Enjoy Patrick Comments, criticisms welcome

A camera without photographer is nothing The camera has a high sensibility but your's is much much higher !!! Patrick

Breathtaking !!! Despite high sensibilities, sharp as drawn with a scalpel !!! No other words. Bravo ! Patrick

Hello Daniel Your slideshow highlights brillantly the warm, colorfull and serene atmosphere of this french country. Thank you very much for sharing

Hello I too agree with bharkins comments, and of course, agree with Boxig's comments. I too warmely congratulate Jean Claude for his great work , but as bharkins, I will probably not have use of it because of it's rather important complexity, and the absolute need of reading the help file. For a little more than one year I choosed PTE for creating slideshows for it's fine and great possibilities and, first of all, for its tremendous ease of use. The first time I oppened PTE help was a few months later and ... after having created half a dozen family and friends targeted slideshows !!! Thats to say how easy it is to use PTE. Anyway, once more bravo for Jean-Claude's great job even if I will not be using it. By the way, thank you Granot for your numerous little and very helpfull utilities. Regards Patrick Sorry for my poor english

A very, very, very good slideshow. The photos, the choice of effects and music, the subjects... I love everything !!! What a pleasant trip A must have !!! Thank you very much Michel Verhoef for sharing with us Patrick Strasbourg France

I agree with all your comment, Fred. Hello Boxig Thank you very much for your latest baby ! This utility is a very interesting one. A enormous thank you for all your work and all you've done for the community ! I use regularily numerous of your little software... what a pleasure ... and what a pity ! ... I am afraid never have thanked you A great BRAVO Boxig Patrick

Hi Daniel Absolutely marvelous. Each isle has his proper personnality and your slideshows render these differences very well with your photos and with the choice you made for the music. In each slideshow there are very interesting effects, for example : Isola Pescatori with the alternance of the narrow streets Isola Bella with the doors and windows opening on the lake and some humoristic photos Isola Madre and the superb light effects on the flowers Very well done and very fine shots. A true invitation to go there for next hollidays BRAVO Patrick

In this new beta, when you work in the "Customize synchronization" window and stroke the Play button, you can stop playing with tne Space bar. When you then change with the mouse the position of a slide, hiting the Space bar doesn't start anymore playing. Is this intentionnally changed ? Patrick

PicturesToExe v4.30 beta #7 Wowwww !!! Very very great improvements in the use of the waveform and the Time Line Many thanks Igor You dreamed it, Igor did it ! Patrick
-
That is a very welcome improvement. Going back or forward in Pause mode is much more easier as in the older version where changing views was always very annoying and disturbing. A step forward would be that changing views back or forward is done instantly (without transition effect) so that positionning at a given slide would be faster and even more easier. I suppose that this wasn't changed in the french version. Why was that important ? Lovely Thank you very much Igor for all this improvements and for this high rate of changes !!! PTE is even more a true jewel Patrick (Sorry for my approximativ english)

Igor Many thanks for this new beta version. Each new version brings us more and more comfort in handling images and slides ! The possibility of rotating image files and slides without loss in quality is a very interesting feature and permits to concentrate all the job in PTE without loosing time with an external program. The enhancement in the push and slide effects is incredible in my case (Pentium II, 1GHz) A big BRAVO ! The last slide transition showing to the desktop is the final surprizing touch for the spectator ! Once more, many thanks for your great job, Igor ! Patrick
