  1. Hello Ray I tried for fun to convert an AVI created from my last slideshow, Orta, to a WMV file I had strictly no problem ... although I worked on my PC (Word document, listening to an audio CD with Winamp, ...), ignoring the process in progress. Nothing special happened and my WMV file was ready after 25mn AMD Athlon 1.01 GHZ SDRAM 512 MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 2MMX, 32MB Video memory Version 10 of Media Player Windows XP Pro SP1 Direct X 9.0c PTE v 4.43 Orta / PTE = exe 12 MB, 3:18 mn Wmv 640 X 480, 9 Mo Just one question, why did you want especially a WMV format ?

    Orta

Hello Michel For sure, mastering light was problematic and I am not sure I mastered something at all most of time. Such light flattens everything. Oh yes I saw that, but, as the lake and isle borders are not straight horizontal I had to find a compromise between vertical fronts and horizontal border line. Concerning your personal feeling my compromise seems to be a bad choice Precisely due to the the bad lighting conditions I was really unsure to have a chance to transmit my personal feeling. I am happy to succeed, at least in part, for you Thank you for your comments

    Orta

Hello Here, on Bill's (Beechbrook Cottage) upload pages, you wil find my last slideshow : Orta End October 2004 we (my wife, my son and I) made a short stay in the italian Great Lake region (Como Lake, Lake Major). We put our suitcases in Orta village, standing against the mount Mottarone, situated on the border of the little lake Orta and facing the tiny Isle of Silence. During our 4 days stay we had probably the worst weather of the year ! Cold and heavy showers and fog ! We saw the sun just for 1 hour as the mount Mottarone and it's pass emerged over the clouds ! Despite this adverse conditions we felt in love for this beautiful and romantic piece of Italy. A year later, as it is often my case, I heard a particular music and I instantly associated it to my very few shots of Orta. I hope you will take pleasure to follow me during this short promenade, although my shots are far from the standards (bright sun) of the genre ! Just for information, I choosed this destination after having viewed Daniel Laugier's slideshows about the Lake Major's Isles. Daniel himself went to Orta due to the good advices of Guru! With PTE and it's community, everything is possible !!! Comments, positive or negative, are all welcome. Ciao ! P.S. I thanks heartily Bill for his great efficiency and kindness !

    Corsica

Why ? Very good shots, very interesting tour of Corsica and a stuning technical performance. Despite this technical "machinery", your slideshow(s) is behaving very smooth... a great performance. A labour of Hercules ! Will be very hard to imitate ! Thank you very much you for sharing.
  5. Pentium AMD Athlon 1 MHZ Video Card NVidia Geforce 2 MMX 512 Mo RAM Ah ??????!!!???? Sorry, in your slideshow advertisement, you dont' explicitly say you don't want remarks !!!! ... I regrettably misinterpretated this as a call to comments. Once again, sorry But besides the remarks there is a question... is the response to that question Top Secret ?
  6. Hello Michel Very good shots... as we are accustomed to with your creations. The morning lights, the atmosphere are delightful. About the creation and technique of our slideshow I have one question and three remarks : - you always speek at the third person ("you can download here our last slideshow", "we have at home three differents end", "But, our choice was to ...", ...)..... but you are mentioned as the unique author. Are several persons implicated or is it just due to a translation mistake ? - The text coming into sight at the beginning of the slideshow stutters a few times before the next one appears. I have a very powerless hardware configuration and I always read the slideshows at the 1024/768 resolution regardless to the author's informations but I always unload all the softwares running in the background. I launched several times your slideshow but the problem didn't disappear (just the line incriminated changed) - The voice at the end appears very abruptly. Perhaps it's this reason why I didn't understand all it said. As Verhoef, I too think text is probably a better choice. - the last slides (artificial sun effect) "sounds" very artificial and not in the mood of all your slideshow Anyway, great shots and thanks for sharing
  7. LCD screen, LG LX40 17", 1024 X 768 (1280 X 960 from time to time)
  8. The best is to try it. It's free, very easy to customize, invisible and easy to inplement in your html code ! For a first approach it's a very interesting tool.
  9. I use this site, Moostik, wich gives you a code to incorporate to your html page. You have the possibility to add invisible counters for your visitors to whatever page you want. Very very easy to use and customize... and it is free I use i t since a few years.
  10. Yesssss Since a few months 1280/960 is my proper slide size choice as I found it a good compromise when the screen resolution was lesser. Thank you for this clarification !
  11. ..... we all too ... but PTE's version 4.43 doesn't allow it, so we have to find some tricks and colored jpeg is a very clever one !
  12. Sorry I don't understand but i'ts of no importance ! Oh yes... we all do
  13. No problem... why no a jpeg with numbers or explicit text instead of colors ?
  14. Igor is of course a magician and his software is marvellous. That is not the question. He needs time to improve PTE and that is absolutely understandable ! You trust the next version for your next shows. Perfect ! I cannot, unfortunately, wait as, I too, have some work underway, but as they are for professionnal purposes, waiting is not possible In this condition, knowing all the improvements the new version will have is of no help ! I too congratulate everybody directly involved in this hard and fascinating job ! Have fun with PTE and good day
  15. Jean-Pierre is unfortunately absent for a few days and I have from far not his skill for mastering this problem. My experience is limited and using Jean-Pierre's tutorial is for me very easy and of invaluable help ! Yes, yes, yes.. You are perhaps in posession of the new version but it's release date, as Igor said, for the basic user I am, is not fixed, so, in the interval, as I possess version 4.43, I use indirect ways, and Jean-Pierre's is the simpliest for me.
  16. That is a very good new but for now we have to create with the present version and Jean-Pierre's tutorial, as pin pointed in Dadou's message, is of very good value !
  17. Hello Here you will find my last slideshow, Nostalgia, 14.3 Mo and 3'29" min For multiple reasons (mostly because of bad weather), during august, I couldn't make my accustomed strolls in my home's viccinity (Strasbourg / Alsace / France). Hearing, by accident (by chance !), a David Arkenstone's piece of music, I had the idea of this promenade, a little bit nostalgic, in my photo collection. I took the photos in the Vosges mountain (600 to 1 000 m in their northern part) and in the Rhine forest (a very humid one). Best screen resolution 1280 / 960 Have fun. All kinds of comments are welcome. Thanks to Jean-Pierre (JPD), Diapositif for lodging my slideshow on his own web space (mine is very unpredictable), and to Bill (Beechbrook Cottage) for linking it on his pages.
  18. Hello Igor No matter how long it will last, so long as PTE stays as robust and user friendly as it is now Thank you very much for all your hard work. Have a good week end ! Here, for the first time since 3 weeks, we will have finally sun and relative warmth
  19. Hello We are probably numerous, selecting and improving, via miscellaneous softwares, our holidays photos. PTE is not very far .... I am not sure but, the new PTE version with it's many improvements appeared to be released by now. Is it still topical ? Best regards
  20. ... and YouSendit up to ... 1 GB !!!
  21. Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway A superb evocation of past times ! Cumbria Delightful lights, superb atmosphere, very fine pictures. A great moment. Many thanks for sharing
  22. Hello Daniel Thank you very much for your kind appreciations. Some of my photos are already used during training sessions for future first-aid workers and during teaching sessions for young anesthetists. I take advantage of these words to thank you for your invaluable assistance and your great patience during the "beta testing" stage of my slideshow : if it is such as it is, thanks to you !
  23. The sequences are put together with multiple situations (some photos are separated by 20 years !) to maintain as possible confidentiality and protect victims image. Concerning the accident itself, the car is truly winded up the tree-trunk !!! The conductor was young (under 25), alone and saddly didn't survive this terrible crash (he died on the accident site itself) ! .... but hard to imagine an other outcome
  24. You will find on Bill's (Beechbrook Cottage) PTE presentations download pages my last slideshow : No comment I tried to depict a SAR (search and rescue) mission as we sadly often have to do : a car crash To preserve anonymity, the photos are not necessarily linked one to an other ! The helicopter operated in this mission is an Alouette III. This particular type of aircraft was the workhorse for more than 25 years here in Strasbourg. It saddly (because it was very appreciated for hers "rusticity" and great possibilities) flew it's last hours last month before definitive withdrawal and replacement by a brand new type ; the EC-145 (bigger, faster, 2 engines and much more modern avionics). Enjoy... and comments (negative or positive) .... are of course, welcome.
  25. Hello Daniel As ever with your slideshows, very good photos ! In this one, the warm tones are delightful and some of your transitions are definitely great. Thank you very much for sharing. Very relaxing.
