  3. Please help. I recently bought pic2exe, and have created my slideshow. I only wish to create a slideshow for the computer, with music. I have Roxio CD Creator 5. I tried to use the Data DVD project, but was informed taht there is no supported DVD-recorder detected on the system. I've been reading the posts already listed and saw that I had to use a DVD recording system in order to have music in the slideshow. I am confused. I was able to record slideshows with music with Roxio, but bought pic2exe so that my clients will have a harder time copying the images. All I want is a simple slideshow with music. Can you please help?
  4. Greetings. I am thinking of buying a DVD burner. My SVCD's look pretty good on a TV. Sometimes the menus don't work but I think this is due to my DVD player. Of course DVD-R's are more expensive than CD-R's which is one draw back. My question is this: What has been your experience with burning P2E slideshows to DVD as compared to SCVD? Is the quality better? Is compatibility with DVD players better? Do the menus work consistently? etc. Thanks in advance. Bubba
  5. I've added a button to an object, along with some text. Rather than guess how long it takes someone to read the page, I made a button that simply says "Next>". However, once the time elapses for the slide (about 4 seconds), it moves to the next, without ever considering that there is a button there. The show is not synced. Thanks in advance for any help. Tony
  6. Heres the Steps I took and Failed to get Ulead to Recognise The File created in PTE.... 1. I added photos in PTE, then clicked the VIDEO button. 2. I then Chose 'Dvd Video Disc', clicked the CREATE AVI button.(For Ulead Dvd Factory2 was ticked) 3. I Saved to a 'Folder' I created. 4. The 'Create of AVI File Encoding' takes its Action... 5. I then OPENED Ulead Moviefactory2. 6. Selected 'Dvd' and then 'Existing Folder' to allow me to Browse for my Folder. 7. I Opened the Folder but....NOTHING THERE?????? Whats Happening Guys! When I opened the Folder in 'Windows' the File was there! But Ulead Cant recognise it. Now What? Mike.
  7. I have spent most of the day trying to create a DVD, My first problem was in connection with the download of “Ulead DVD MoviFactory2”, I tried several times but I only seemed to have the option of downloading Ulead DVD MoviFactory3, can someone advise me is version 2 and old version or a different version completly. I am on broadband and it took almost one hour to download. (the first time it stopped downloading at around 95% - so I had to start again) I opened Ulead DVD MoviFactory3, and the window has many options none seem to fit the list of instructions as shown on this site when using version 2. I have the following options "Create Video Disc", "Create Slide show disc", “Create music disc”, “Create data disc”, “Direct to disc”, “Edit Disc”, “Copy disc” and “DVD Player”. I looked at the first two and tried selecting DVD and Existing Project and used the drop down arrow to locate my AVI file. Called "name_vid751" it tells me that it is not a valid project file, or its format is not currently supported. Can someone advise me what I should do.
  8. When creating a dvd from avi file using roxio dvd builder my music track is dropping in & out (stuttering). The images look fine. I have tried using less slides and smaller files and it still happens, I am using mp3 music files. Any help in pointing me in the right direction to solve this would be appreciated. Jeff
  9. I am using Roxio version 6 and I am getting excellent svcd's with this program Roxio. However I go to save the work and it is saved to my documents in a Roxio folder titled "PM Studio" Later I go back to bring up any saved work. The presentations .avi are daved in a folder called "pm studio" I double click or open and I get a message ALWAYS saying " the video clip "D:\p2e presentation \Mexico City2_vid 161 .avi in the project cannot be located and will not be part of the loaded project so, I click "ok" it does start loading anway and then I get ALWAYS the prompt that "this program has performed an illegal operation and so on and so on........... I click ok and that is that. That is why I have been saying with Roxio I can only do just one presentation per "cd" I cannot save the avi through p2e program after I do all that I have to do to make the video avi? Harry
  10. Friends: I have a drawer full of video tapes I took of the kids over the years. You-got-it, I want to put them into the computer so I can put them on a DVD-R. I have a VCR I can hook up to the computer but in looking around, I can't figure out where to plug it in. I tried plugging it in to the keyboard port with no luck. Anyway, I was just kidding about the keyboard port! No, really what do I need to hook up my VCR to the computer? A capture card? What is the best way to feed the video into the computer. What device should I buy. Please don't suggest one of those Leadtech cards - I had one and took it out because of error messages, etc. I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. I did find discussion about various softwares that do the editing. Thank you all for your kind assistance. Will
  11. HELP?! For the past few days, my DVD-burner doesn't complete the burning cycle with the Ulead program. I can burn DVDs on it fine, no problem, but the Ulead program comes up with a message and I have no idea what it means or how I can fix it. Help?! It says: Ulead DVD Movie Factory Failed to record data to the disk. Error: DVDR-INC-SPTI-00-02-03-0C-00 HELP?!
  12. As I'm totally new to this Software and Forum, I have viewed many Links etc but, dissapointed really as to finding just Tips here and there. What I would like to see is a "How To" Post, step by step etc, on how to Create a "Dvd Slideshow" using Jpeg's.( I use Nero6 for Burning). It would also be a good Idea to do a "How To-step by step" to Create a Dvd Video Show using PTE. The reason why I write this is because we are in the DVD World now, I have a Pioneer105 Dvd Writer, also 4 Dvd Players throughout my Home but cant play PTE Slideshows. Is there a 'How To' create a CD using PTE, to Playback on a Dvd Player(not computer) already on this FORUM? Help Needed! Mike.
  13. I have been using P2E for over a year to produce slide shows of wedding photos for my wedding clients. I add music tracts and title slides. I was drawn to P2E because I can protect myself from having the images on the disk copied by my clients. I am now buying a DVD burner and wish to create my slide shows in DVD so that the clients will not be limited to their PC for viewing, but I still want the copy protection I have with the exe files on CD. Will P2E allow me to do this? Will the new Beta version allow me to do this? What is the process and how do I burn the DVD?
  14. Don't know for sure but perhaps some directions were just left out. Perhaps they just didn't need any explanation. But here goes: 1. Is it neccessary to preview? Is this just a step like 1,2 3? 2. Are you supposed to or have to put the length of the presentation in seconds? 3. It seems that creating a Custom AVI is a separate entity from all the rest. What is this? 4. When you go to save at what time do you do this? I usually save with Roxio but when i go back to view my avi I can never do it. It would seem to be better to save and go back and not have to recreate all over agin. I must not get this right. Now I have seen and read Igor's directions but some stuff just was not mentioned, I think. I can now do svcd with Roxio 6 a gift from my brother for Christmas and it works fine even though it should be for a PIII etc it works fine with my PII. I can create a svcd or vcd with Roxio and it looks very good on TV.
  15. Please help. I am trying to make a button in PTE to activate further programmes. I have gone into object editor and followed all the instructions and find that the button wont make the other sequence active. This should be possible, but I am pulling my hair out with frustration (I am using the latest version of PTE)
  16. Thanks for your advice Ken. It woked. My slide shows stored on SVCD have flicker on the horizontal lines on the TV which is a high frequency model (supposed to be flicker free. Frames can be frozen flicker free). Is it something I need to adjust in the settings for burning a SVCD?
  17. I have made SVCD's of single slide shows using Move Factory 2 successfully. However, When I try to create a number of shows on SVCD I can get the Icons for the shows on the TV screen at start up but cannot find out how to acticate each show. Has anyone got any ideas please
  18. As we come across urls, maybe we could add them to this thread -- ken http://www.ulead.com/learning/video5/page1.htm http://www.pcworld.com/resource/browse/0,c...ortIdx,1,00.asp http://www.pcworld.com/magazine/index/0,is...iss,2105,00.asp
  19. I have successfully imported the AVI video file from pte Beta version 4.20 into both Ulead DVD Workshop and Pinnacle Studio 8 and created DVDs but both result in unacceptable flicker at the top and bottom of the TV screen. Can you suggest a solution to this please.
  20. I am wondering what will be the optimium image resolution (i.e. 720X480) of PTE images if the targeted final product is for NTSC DVD . When I was doing video with Ulead MSP6.5, I stretched the still image from 640X480 to 704X480 (please don't ask me why as this was from trial-and-error) before I dropped them on the timeline, which seems to avoid or minimize distortion (square pixel in computer vs non-sqaure pixel in video). As I have no idea what PTE does when it creates the intermediate .AVI file, does anyone know whether there is any adjustment during the avi file creation process? I am attaching part of the message from the Ulead site regarding Image Distortion (http://www.ulead.com/learning/video5/page1.htm): Image distortion Images are always displayed on a PC screen using square pixels. All image file formats also use square pixels. This means that if an image is for example 640 x 480 pixels, it will display at an aspect ratio of 4:3. The same is not always true of video frames. For example the DV format is 720 x 480 for NTSC and 720 x 576 for PAL, but in both cases the final image when rendered on a TV is 4:3. When these frames are displayed on a computer (e.g. in a preview windows while editing) they are usually slightly distorted - NTSC is horizontally stretched, and PAL is horizontally squashed. When a still image with square pixels is incorporated the different pixel shape must be allowed for, otherwise the image will be distorted the opposite way when shown on a TV. Some editors are smart enough to compensate automatically, others require you to do it manually. One way of doing the latter is to save copies of all your images "pre-distorted" to the equivalent of your video format. Use an image editor to stretch or squash the images horizontally, and use these copies to import into the video. Stretch by a ratio of 720/640 if working in NTSC, or squash by 720/768 if using PAL.
  21. Hi I have made a few successful SVCDs using PTE/TMPGEnc that play well on my PAL 4:3 TV. These have been more by accident than design. I cannot seem to find any information regarding the basic format for the jpeg images to enable me to produce an optimum SVCD and DVD that fills the TV screen at 4:3 and one that would fill the 16:9 TV format. I have been using 768x576 pxls for 4:3 and 768x432 pxls for 16:9 both at middle quality compression giving file sizes around 80 - 160 KB and music background in Mp3 format. When I look at the technical specifications of the various bits of software available I am lost because the format and compression figures given are meaningless to me. I would appreciate someone explaining to me how to get from PTE to AVI to MPEG2 for both SVCD and DVD in terms of optimum image dimensions(pixels)/jpeg compression and PTE AVI/Video and TMPGEnc settings to achieve SVCDs/DVDs that will fill the TV Screen in both 4:4 and 16:9 formats.
  22. Even if you don't have DVD writer you can burn SVCD video on usual CD-R disc on CD-R/RW writer with near to DVD quality. I've tried with creating SCVD discs and it gives me almost same quality as it could be DVD video. So it better never create VCD video which will looks very blurred and shows terrible transition effects. And DVD or SVCD will make maximally possible for TV details and smoothness of transation effects in your presentations. SVCD video disc can be played on any PC with CD-ROM or DVD-ROM and software for playing of DVD video disc. Or on most of stationary DVD players connected to TV.
  23. I have created "custom" avi files using a panasonic codec. small files work just fine in both studio 8 and click to DVD (sony software). When I create a large file for the entire project, ( 4 gig) neither program can open them. Is there a size limit on the avi files that can be made using pte? I'm new at this and any help would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I have been tinkering around with PTE and trying to get a useable AVI file to burn with Sonic My DVD and have not been having any luck yet. Not only will MyDVD not recognize the PTE AVI and freeze up, but when I go and try and execute the AVI file by itself in WIndows, I get audio but no video. What could be the possible causes of this problem?
  25. I finally have a DVD burner. My concern is putting AVI shows to DVD, but I also want to convert some old VHS tapes to DVD. I have a Radeon All in Wonder card installed, but have heard there is a problem converting analog video and audio to DVD because the sound doesn't match the video perfectly well. Has anyone tried VHS to DVD conversion with the programs that are suited for the AVI to DVD conversion? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. ~Cindy Singleton
