Pencil Drawing Query

Recommended Posts

I've just been reading a post by Lin Evans where he referred to the amazing work of Jean-Pierre Dollangere in connection with PTE.

I fully endorse Lin's praises of JPD, and might add that Lin doesn't do a bad job either, in his support of PTE!!

Sadly JPD is no longer with us, but it jogged my memory about something I'd seen on the forum some time ago which I feel sure was by him.

I can't quite locate it, or remember the detail about it, but I do remember that it was an amazing effect.

What I do remember was that it simulated the wire frame pencil drawing of a building as you watched the slideshow.

I have two questions.

Can anyone else recall what I am referring to?

Was there any explanation of the method involved, because I think JPD had said that he would make it available?

Regards,

Hello,

I think you are referring to this slideshow http://www.picturest...vec-son-pinceau

I am afraid there is not really A method, it's "only" a very intensive use of masks and a looooot of work.

But maybe JPD found a way to industrialize it with his famous excel files...

Hi Dom - the link doesn't work for me - but I put another link to the discussion below for you:

Jean-Pierre was never able to finish what he was working on, but a "program" to do a very similar thing is available from David Fitzpatrick called VisiSketch Pro - you can read about it and purchase it here:

http://www.visisketchpro.com/

David is a ProShow Producer user and writes some other great software too. Much of it is useful for PTE as well, though some of what he does takes advantage of certain features available in Producer which are not yet available in PTE.

JPD's rendition was done entirely in PTE with the help of EXCEL to create data points, etc. He wanted to finish it for the PTE users, but his sickness was robbing him of his concentration per his last message on the thread.

Best regards,

Lin
