fh1805
This problem is reproducible on two different systems using v7.5.4 running on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.Open an existing projectAdd an imageGo into Objects and AnimationAdd a second object (independent or child, png or jpeg, it doesn't seem to matter)Make a trivial change (add a bit of zoom or pan or rotate to the second object)Note the colour state of the Undo/Redo icons while you:Undo your change and then Redo your change(So far everything should be as you would expect)Close the O&A window back to the Slides viewNote the colour state of the Undo/Redo icons while you:Undo your change and then Redo your change (Yes, you can undo/redo O&A changes from the Slides view - I didn't know that)Go back into O&ANow try to undo/redo your changeYou cannot!Close the O&A window back to the Slides viewNote the colour state of the Undo/Redo icons while you:Undo your change and then Redo your changeYou still can do it here but not in the O&A windowWeird or what?regards,Peter
xahu34
Question: Is it a bug, or is it a feature that in the O&A window you can only undo or redo actions that have been done during this particular O&A session? Perhaps not bad!?Regards,Xaver
fh1805
Question: Is it a bug, or is it a feature that in the O&A window you can only undo or redo actions that have been done during this particular O&A session? Perhaps not bad!?That is a possibility, isn't it. I hadn't thought of it that way. Just out of interest I checked what happened with changes in the Timeline view. The Undo/Redo stack is preserved in its full functionality across a switch from Timeline view to Slides view and back again. It is only the O&A Undo/Redo that exhibits the reported behaviour.regards,Peter
xahu34
I would regard the present behavior as a useful feature Regards,Xaver
fh1805
Xaver,I'm not so sure about that. If the changes in O&A had been made to keyframe positions or animation effects, doing the Undo/Redo outside the O&A window means that you cannot really be sure what exactly is being undone and redone.regards,Peter
xahu34
Maybe, we need a history window as in Photoshop or Audacity Regards,Xaver
Igor
Peter,Thanks, but it's not a bug. Undo works only within a current session of Objects and animation editor since version 5.0. To prevent a case when you could undo changes which were done outside O&A window and you don't see what happens on the screen. For example, if you add a new slide, move it several times in the slide list and then open for editing in O&A window. Undo in this case will cases interesting "effects": slide number, full slide duration will change and finally last undo command will close the O&A window because the slide is no longer exists.Probably we'll rework undo processing after integration of O&A editor as a tab of the main window. It's another subject for discussion.
