version 10.5: message "not answering" [SOLVED]

Jean Claude

Hello everyone,

I reported my problem to Diapositif,

I downloaded v10.5 pro.
On 2 mics having W10 family.
On one no problem, it's a laptop with free Avast antivirus.
On the other, a tower without Avast, only with W10 protections.

On this one, I have the following problem:
I launch Pte from the desktop, Pte is displayed with the tabs "File Create Project Settings Help"
I click on File and I get this message: "not responding".
If I start from the .Pte project file (version 8.0) and run it with v10.5, I have the same problem.
I had several versions of Pte (since 4.48), I never had this problem

Thanks in advance for your solution.
Jean Claude

Hello Igor,
Thank you for your reply,
"File Create Project View Settings Help", I don't have access. I get the error: not responding" when clicking on Settings
On my working laptop (with PTE 10.5 pro), I went to see to understand the line that I had to check.
Please note that the computer that does not work is not a laptop.
I work very well with version 8.0
Sorry
Cordially

I send the screenshot of the computer which works well with PTE 10.5 pro (it's the laptop)

Try the following:

1. Add a shortcut for PTE AV Studio 10.5 to the desktop. Or simply reinstall the app.

2. Click right mouse button on the shortcut and call Properties window.

Add a text  -alternate3d  after the last quote in the field of program file name

For example, on my PC this command line:

"C:\Program Files\WnSoft\PTE AV Studio 10.5\Main\PTEAVStudio.exe" -alternate3d

3. Run PTE AV Studio 10.5

Let me know about a result.

I followed your instructions.
I downloaded version 10.5 from the Wnsoft site. I still have the message.
You say "Restart Windows", I restarted the computer, did I have to reinstall Windows??.
I did the same procedure on my laptop and everything works.
Unfortunately, I work the slideshows on the tower, not the laptop.

I regret about this unpleasant problem.

No need to reinstall Windows. I've meant uninstall PTE AV Studio 10.5 and reinstall again the app.

I recommend to update drivers for graphics card. If it's NVIDIA Geforce - visit nvidia.com and get the latest drivers. The same for AMD graphics.

Let me know about a result.

I compare with PTE 10.5 that I have on my laptop and which works,
That of the laptop: when I pass the mouse over the tabs at the top "File Create Project View Parameters Help" I have access, they go into reverse image.
On the tower: impossible, I don't have access to it. As soon as I go to a tab and click, I get the message. '"do not answer"
As if Pte hadn't completely settled in, but everything went well.

Can you try to update drivers for the graphics card in your desktop computer?

Before updating, please do the following. Press Win+R keys. Type "dxdiag" and press Enter key. Click the Save button and send me dxdiag.txt file. It contains the info about hardware and drivers of your computer. It may help us find a reason of this problem.

Thanks for the details.

Your desktop PC has AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card. It was released in 2011 and drivers are dated by 2015.

I recommend to update drivers for your AMD graphics card. Firstly, you may check new available drivers in Windows Update centre. Or visit AMD website and follow their instructions for new drivers.

By going through Windows and the pilot update The answer is the following "Last installed driver"
On the AMD site for this card, there is a recent driver +.
In the meantime I will work with the laptop and find a graphics card + evolved and acceptable price question.
Did you know one?
Before, I need to solve the problem of my IIyama B2403WS screen.
He has his contrast constantly. I saw an Asus 248QV.
I was keeping you posted.
Thank you for your research and your help.

Hi Jean Claude,

Thanks for your patience with solving that problem.

I hope that the new drivers for AMD card may help you. I don't remember other reports on the same problem during last 2 years. It's really unusual issue.

Please also read my personal message which I've sent you 2 days ago. Let me know about a result.

If you consider a new graphics card, I would recommend NVIDIA Geforce. It's the best choice for PTE AV Studio. You also will get a faster video encoder (with Hardware acceleration option).

If you plan to keep the old desktop PC, consider Geforce 1050 (the cheapest solution). It's OK for 1920 x 1080.
Geforce 1660 would be optimal for 1920 x 1080 screens.

Geforce 3050 or 3060 would be the best choice for a new desktop PC, and especially for 4K monitors.

I followed your instructions:
1st image: this time, I have my folders that appear at the activation request.
2nd image: when I click on a folder or on the scrollbar: I get the message.

Do you mean 2 attempts to run PTE 11?

Tell me in more details, what message you see?
