The video is dedicated to the famous French portrait artist of the 19th century - Marie Elisabeth Louise Vigée-Lebrenca (1755-1842).
The interesting fate of this artist was closely intertwined with many royals, aristocrats and celebrities of that time.
Events at home and close acquaintance with the royal family forced her to hastily leave France.
For six years she wandered around Europe, earning money from time to time by depicting local aristocrats in paintings.
Until one day she arrived in Russia, where she stayed for six long years.
Many Russian aristocrats and nobles tried to order portraits from the artist.
And even the Empress, Catherine II, ordered several portraits of her relatives from her.
Orders and money flowed to Elizabeth like a river...
And yet, after six years, she returned home to Paris.

Rosemary, Thank you for watching and rating! I hope you liked the paintings of this artist! The difficult fate of this woman did not break her and she became a great artist.
