Time line error resolved

This issue below has resolved itself today. Everything is running as it should. I shutdown the computer and restarted several times yesterday and deleted the program of all remnants to no avail. I am curious why it happened and is there anything I can check if it should happen again in this new computer.

Yesterday:

I moved all my shows onto a new computer. I have the files in Templates and zipfiles and also copied my Audio Visual drive to the new computer.

The issue I am having is in the timeline. Mainly for one show and all .wav and mp3 are showing green with error. Some other shows are acting the same way.

I have used the clear cache of waveforms and the timeline appears correctly for about 2 seconds before reverting back to the error.

When I open the show for the first time the timeline is correct again for about 2 seconds and reverts to the error.

Hi Kieron,

The program was unable to read the audio files, or the cache file was corrupted.
Could you tell me what antivirus software you're using? It may be creating a delay when opening the audio file, causing PTE AV Studio to determine that the file is unreadable.
The second possible cause is that the audio files are located on an external network storage device. A similar cause is a delay in opening/reading the file.

Thanks for the reply Igor. It is a head scratcher as I do not use an antivirus on this particular machine.

It is an extremely fast and high end build and everything loads quickly on a Samsung 9100 PRO Series - 1TB PCIe 5.0 x4, NVMe 2.0, M.2 Internal SSD

The files are stored on another M.2 internal drive .

For a full day it would not work and I believe the cache files were corrupted as it showed the audio with all adjustment but green error

It now works like a charm so I will wait and see. Really enjoying version 12  as my housekeeping on previous shows  was was not the best.

The Create Backup in ZIP command now correctly handles projects with multiple files that share the same name in different folders.

I do large productions so the added support above 2GB is most welcomed.

So many things that make this a worthwhile upgrade.

Hi Kieron,

Did you clear the cache of audio clips in the Preferences window (main menu > Settings > Preferences)?

We didn't touch this code (waveforms for audio clips) in V12. Please let me know if this problem will occur again.

I'm glad that you like the new V12!

By the way, ZIP archive creation is also several times faster than before.
