  1. For all, test in Pte only 7.5 version

Slide + Video + Slide = Ok transition etc.

Video + Video = No because last frame of 2 Video "freeze" to infinity

Video + Slides = None etc. run for eternity as Video&Video

    Da Campos

  2. In KFSD, if you introduce a video into the Slide List by dragging from the File List, then the slide duration (including incoming and outgoing transitions) equals the Video Duration.

    Automatic!

The video begins at the beginning of the incoming transition and ends at the end of the outgoing transition - no frozen frames.

    DG

    Thanks DG

exactly if video is between 2 slides (drag'&drop option) go Ok. But 2 video, as I wrote, no because is literally, again, a carnage. Last frame appear "freeze" for eternity "Keep duration" or not as Peter reply

    Da Campos

P.S. Please see previous Post scriptum, and do not forget, thanks

  3. Thanks again Peter

    Test

    Windows Seven Professional

    8 GB Ram

    Nvidia GeForge GT 650 M 2 GB V. 4.8.750

    Pte full v. 7.5

    Video: 1 MJPEG 640 x 480 182 MB time 3'.36”

    Video: 2 MJEPG 640 x 480 20.3 MB time 24”"

In timeline start to zero 1 video. At 0.20” in fade in 2 Video, go. Crossfade, and appear 2 video. But at 24” last end frame it continue......continue at infinity...

    Da Campos

    P.S.

If instead of the second video is a slide, the same thing: a carnage

  4. Hi Peter

IMO this statement gives an incorrect impression to Campos, especially with the language problems. "First Video needs to be 18.5 seconds" may be so in his example but in fact I have used video clips of 10 seconds or under without the final frame freezing, you just need to play around with the blue flags in the timeline to get a seamless transition, my recent post describing my technique using video in PTE explains it & BB's recent Video Teach in says the same thing. Screen shot shows a section of the timeline from one of my IOW exes. slides 14 & 15 are video clips.

    Regards Eric

    yachtsman1

Excuse me, but your captured screen is previous Pte 7.0, vice versa I speak, and show with attached file a problem in new 7.5

    Da Campos

  5. Da Campos,

Your first video needs to be at least 18.5 seconds long so that it continues playing all the way through the fade into the second video. If it is not long enough, PTE will hold the final frame on the screen until the second video has completed its fade in.

    regards,

    Peter

    Thanks Peter,

but I did not know I need of 18.5 (not documented anywhere as far as I know) seconds, de facto, remains that abnormal work to make slides show, in practice, these don't need + “other 18.5 seconds” to go well.

In conclusion the videos don't make same “procedure” as slides.

    Da Campos

    P.S.

Where is found user “manual” of PTE 7.5?

    P.S.S.

I will test other video by long/short time and refer in detail, as always

  6. Test Pte 7.5

on the timeline, from left three slides in fade. Ok

To right 2 video: first clip is a band musicians play, second video only talking

Now while three slides, of test, go to fade as first video, Ok. The second video go regulary in fade and appear (only talking) but once completed, because it shorter than of first clip (musicians) instead show this will continue it as “freezing” indefinitely and don't appear musicians + music of band.

  7. As an ‘Experiment’ I think you are on to something quite interesting here; I found this one absolutely fascinating.

I really like this collection of high contrast back and white images, the subdued lighting and darkness suggesting there is far more happening than can be seen; the cold, wet and dark atmosphere really adds character and mystique to this show. It oozes a private meaning in relation to your photography, which we would call ‘punctum’, yet at the same time shows a very public ‘studium’; in other words amazing

I thought the show length was bordering on almost too long, I say this because this as a concept, is far better fed in smaller doses; and should leave the viewer wanting more, thus preserving its mystique.

What I think you should consider is using a tripod rather than a monopod, so that the movement is constrained to the subjects that actually move. I would also consider, where you have reversed and repeated a sequence, try using a series of sequential image instead, so thing all move in the same direction. The rain drops in the puddles was one example I was thinking of.

This to me is an extremely powerful slideshow, and has the potential to say such a lot. It is easy to see the amount of effort you have put into its, and I think this shows quite clearly. I do like seeing things like this where people push aside the norm, and are not afraid to show it off.

    Thanks for sharing it.

    Thanks again for critics

Long time, eh, my son, graphic designer, said like you. Question of point view. Problem is because the “Televison” for too rapid sequences, I think advertising, strongly influences way we see.

Sure I don’t like (too) tripod, I prefer an image “slight out of focus” and not magize photo (many times without soul). And because is my personal “poetica”.

Good question in conclusion: why I repeat scene(s)? Yes, is my stile.

    Thanks

    Da Campos

Ps. Punctum was a word used of Roland Barthes his book “Light (chamber) camera”, if remeber...

  8. Brilliant, so good to see someone working 'out the box' so to speak.

I was mesmerised, totally immersed in your work, I have no negatives but I compliment you.

Very atmospheric and I really enjoyed the music track you chose

    Mantenere il grande lavoro.

Many thanks you seen my Ppt slides

  9. Thanks for the suggestion but it is not same thing: I'm not a DJ in disco play from to at other.

Timeline is one thing, in O & A, another thing. Not confusion please. I would not have written to lose time.

Question: because to complicate lives of users, someone saw others software?

And I not ask the Moon. Who's spends hours at work (not for hobby) takes an ergonomic and confortable soft: again, saw the other software? Not alms, let's be serious!

    Da Campos

Ps. The programmers of WnSoft don't give me PTE gratis, free. I spend (sure like others members) a lot of time, and without any payment, to suggests) or feature rational, or idiosyncrasy by infinity soft named 7.5. In other post I said: Via Crucis 7.5

  10. Is it really important ?

    Thanks

Yes. It's very important, and because option is already in timeline: just duplicate, no? At this time I use a little trick: a headset. But better to have an option to "mute" in O&A because I spend several hours to create "slideshow" (I prefer fotostory). Sometimes to repeat more and more time sound(s), distracts me

    Da Campos

Ps. Please note I'm building, literaly, a "Fotostory" alias slideshow. I'm not saying the effort to assemble image(s), I working a this project over twenty years.

Sure sound is important, it took me away nighters, sometimes it urticant. Make lose concentration. In conclusion "mute" sound (in O & A) is a great thing.

  11. Using 7.07, I am compiling part 2 of my friends Russian cruise, there is a video clip on the DVD which I have cropped out of the DVD using PTE's video conversion facility. I wish to overlay the clip over a slide with reduced opacity. When I try to do this via O&A, selecting the clip from the file list it appears as a film strip, see screen shot. When I try to run the clip using the toaster button, I get an error message see screen shot. The clip plays fine without the backing slide, but because of its size appears in a black box, see screen shot of the clip details. Anyone got an idea how to cure it.

    Yachtsman1.

First all: that isn't a collective "debug" for futurible (more futurible) version 7.5. No, that is a Via Crucis! Any day!

Some problem for me, Yachtsman, but version 7.0 is ok, in Beta YXZ for Heaven! Impossible!

In previous version two clips, for example, go without problem in fade. In Beta? Ah...Lord bless the programmers.

    No words.

  12. Hello Da Campos ,

This is one of the most interesting AV's I have seen for a long time.

It kept my interest the whole way through and I loved some of the images.

Very Well done, and thank you for sharing

    Ciao Da Campos,

Questo è uno dei più interessanti AV, ho visto per un lungo periodo.

Di tempo.è stato il mio interesse tutta la strada, e mi è piaciuto alcuni images.

Very ben fatto, e grazie per sharing

    Thanks

Thanks for the link to that very interesting article, be it, the Italian language is not my native tongue.

I really enjoys the link to the 1 in 8 million site, a superb way to record the past with pictures and narrative voiceover.

I have a personal interest in oral history, and have in fact looked into the possibility of supporting oral accounts of people with P2E slideshows.

I did an experimental P2E a couple of years ago, trying this concept out. It which worked quite well, but needs a better sound track, Ill have a look at posting it here.

    Thank you

    Grazie

Excuse me sorry for my reply more days after, but I don't remember to have writing it.

    Thanks

  14. No we did not, I don't make absolutly "calibrate" (my) monitor, because after several "sensor" I think paraphernalia is, literaly, a scam.

The problem is solved when, here case offset printing, you are sure to work with the same service or typography. Only after you have tried and tried, you can "calibrate" the colors. The thing is long and I stop here and I’m not wizard...

Viceversa, in PTE, about color rendering to exe or video, it is prosy. Adobe 98-99-2000... sRGB, hyper ultra et etc ? Make non sense.

Please takes an image, scaling and you create four duplicates at same page resolution (1280x720 etc.) each of these (thumbnails) images you make a saturation step; first image X, second -XX etc. Assigned value that best fits in PTE, will be the "focus" of saturation limit for usage with (all images) in Project that you want.

Of course in addition to Pte, you have the color (problem) of the light and the lamp of projector, and the screen (other problem). Last but not least vision that everyone has of the "color". Saturated or less saturated so. A little Hell for all photograhers, viedomakers, ptemaker…etc.

  15. Claudio

please you note that exist strategy for lite file exe. In primis with Jpeg compression, because video projection isn't necessary classic 300 (not the movie) DPI but only 72 screen and "big" resolution.

In secundis other possibility is to "cut" range of color. Billions of colors not make sense de facto for human vision (often those who produce "slideshows" or do not knows or forget it) other factors is important.

Last but not least a discrete "unsharp mask" for crisp images. Nothing more.

In my case I applied the methodology for Una sera di pioggia (Rain).

  16. Lin

well done for the friend. But I not doubt of all expressive potential to PTE. If anything is necessary, is not make confusion for me. De facto PTE firstly a good motor to produce fantastic slideshow, made of "still" images.

Personally, because as photographer, I give prominence to “ single image ". The difference, between a streaming and a "static" it have more capacity emotional (with appropriate sound track) . Theory and matter of psychology.

  17. Well, I have had another look at it and second time round I didn't think it too long at all (I just wanted to make a joke about UK weather). I was mesmerised by all the different textures in the photos and very intruiged as to how you took the shots. You have combined them very well and produced a very inivitive and different show.It is a shame that, to date, I am the only one who has commented. If someone spots an obscure technical point then replies abound but memebers seem to ingnore the purpose of the software - to produce A/V's.

    Thanks Steven

    Da Campos

  18. Thanks Mickp for...humor english and courtesy, yes a bit long, but I already cut 2 minutes of video

    Da Campos

Thanks again Mickp for reminding me…English weather - my son told me for an entire year, the rainy London days - and you seeing a second time the video. No, there is another comment that is other side of Ocean...America.

All shots were photographed with Olympus Camedia C 5050 a little “true” Leicamera for me; and in rare case an Manfrotto Monopod. I mixed more images of night with other in same low light; like mannequin in showcases, an particular reportage on night, that me curious as always.

The site, or set of movie is my little town Potenza-Power, because I think in other “land” is literaly impossible shoot like same “mood”.
