  1. To improve and make more easier work with masks, backgrounds I added special parameter for an object - "Transparent for Click". With this option object can't choosed, dragged, or rotated visually. Only if you select object via List of Objects. So mask which cover entire slide will not be problem to work with other objects.

It's just great, really professionnal and so smart !

Will it be included in next beta ?

Anyway, thank you so much to you and to your team !

  2. Lin,

You seem to have a good knowledge with Photoshop. I only have very basics skills.

Could you - or anyone who knows - explain how I can make :

    - a text mask (i.e, black color for the background and transparent for the text)

    - masks with progressive opacity (transparent to black) applied to the borders of various shape (circle, triangle, oval, text... or even more complex shape).

    Thanks.

  3. I noticed that it is not always easy or even possible to manipulate objects with the mouse in the animation window, especially when these objects are on each other. You can not select those which are under and you have to enter numeric values in the animation tab for them.

I know that somebody already pointed this out and that Igor answered but I can't find the post.

Any idea of where it is and what is/will be the solution ?

  4. Yes, why not, could be useful...

but how would you choose the slide you want to add this image ?

In fact, the most valuable feature for me ( :P ) would be the ability to drag an drop images in a slide.

Or at least, when you "add image", you would have by default a thumbnail list (instead of "details").

    Am I dreaming Igor ? :D

  5. The red object was created in Photoshop ....

I didn't see the explanations before. Thanks, it helps to understand and now I think I get it. :D

Anyway, your idea is just great Al !

Just a suggestion : this demo should be posted as a new post, because it can help ang give a lot of ideas to the PTE community...

If you have other ideas like this to show us, do not hesitate. :D

I replaced the example on my web page with the modified version.)

Could you please provide us the direct link ? I looked for it but didn't see it...

    Thanks.

  6. In the Objects and animation editor - Properties Tab, what is the function of the check box to select "Main Image". What particular functions does this give the image when this box is checked?

It gives you the ability to choose which image will be displayed in the slide list (in the main window) because PTE doesn't have (yet ? ;) ) the ability to show each object of a slide in this view.

Would be a nice improvement if it could though. May be in v12... :D

  7. Why would you delete the two objects after copying them to the frame?

Because you can not make a direct CUT & PASTE.

You can "only" make a COPY & PASTE.

So, if you don't want the two original separate objects anymore, you have to delete them.

Does it make more sense ?

I tried copying two objects to a new frame, and all I ended up with were two objects and a frame with no actions selected.

Then when I deleted the objects, I ended up with an empty frame with no hitpoints or actions selected. ??

What do you mean with "no hitpoints or actions selected" ?

May be it's very clear for an english mother tongue but don't forget that I'm a french frogg... :P

  8. How do you do this, i.e. have two separate objects and then group them so that pans etc apply to both objects in the same way.

To do it, add a frame, copy the two separate objects, select the frame and paste the objects.

Then delete the two separate objects.

    That's it, it's done ! :P

  9. Fist off all, thanks Igor and Ken for you answers (even if it's not exactly what I was waiting for ;).

Don't know if it's because of my video card (NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE), but i think I found two display bugs.

In "Project options", I set :

    - screen custom ratio = 1,77

    - gradient filling (pink to green)

    ptebugs01nx.th.jpg

Here are the display bugs :

    PTE Bugs #1 and #2

The display bug #1 only appears when the candy "enter" the screen.

The display bug #2 is here all the time.

The bug #3 (something i made wrong ?) is that the candy doesn't disappear from the screen when I preview my show in the main window but it does if I play it in the Objects and Animation window (!?!?).

    PTE Bug #3.

Here is my show (including the .EXE and the PTE project with images) - 509 KO :

So, what do you think ?

    Thanks.

    Up...

  10. Text objects will be available in the next beta versions, of course.

    With same Pan/Zoom/Rotate effects.

Igor, thank you for your answer.

    Will "centre" and "opacity" be avalaible too ? (i know, i'm a P.I.T.A ;).

Don't know if it's a bug but I noticed you can deform the proportion of an object by clicking on the little square between the x and y zoom scale but you can't do it with the mouse. It will keep the aspect ratio.

Would be interesting to do it with the mouse (if the little square is pressed on before, of course).

Will it be avalaible in a next version ?

    Thanks.

  11. "Center" moves the "centre" for the object highlighted so that you can rotate it around a "lopsided" centre point.

    Thanks Al.

All right, I understand : "Centre" gives you the ability to move something like an anchor.

    It's really a very powerfull function !

Exactly what I thought was missing.

So many things are included in v5 and done in such a smart way.

No competitor really and I mean it.

  12. I believe the additon of a Gaussian Blur effect to Objects and Animation would be a highly useful feature. Maybe others will comment on this suggestion.

Yes, why not, but - if it is possible - the cursor should go from "Blur" to "Sharp".

And I think the adjustements features like "brightness", "contrast", "colorize", "white and black point adjustements" and "hue" would be as usefull (or even more :P ).

  13. By the way, what is the function of "center" (between "rotate" and "opacity" in the "objects and animation" window) ??

I really have no idea...

A tip I discovered today : you can quickly reset to value default the PZR, center and Opacity by clicking on "Pan"/"Zoom"/"Rotate"/"Center"/"Opacity" fields... :)

  14. We'll include all features from v4.48 to v5.00

New version is intended to fully replace previous version.

I have TODO list and in my nearest plans:

    1) Fully solve all several known bugs in v5.00 beta

    2) Re-activate again "old" features of v4.48 which temporarily don't work in v5.00 beta

What about the "Add text" function ?

Will it have all animation features (PZR and Opacity) in final v5 ?

From my point of view, it would be really "time saving" to be able to add simple text and to animate it directly in PTE...

  15. 1. There are two controls at the top left of the window. One is marked "Add Frame" and the other is marked "Add Rectangle". If you click either, the text in the "Objects" window is always "Rectangle" and they appear to have the same grouping function. What is the difficerence between these two controls?

    2. What is the function of the ">" control between the Undo and Paste buttons?

    Jeff

1 - With what i already experimented, I saw no difference except that the "add frame" is empty and you don't have to put opacity to 0.

With "add rectangle", you have a background color (solid or gradient).

But I guess you already knew that.

2 - ">" = "redo" (only avalaible if you made a "undo" before").

Maybe in the final release this button should be active only if you click on undo before...

I think it might be useful to have a "balloon help" (not sure of the translation  ) on each button ?

Maybe in a future release... :P
