  1. Hi, Jeany; one of the beqst CD ripper is Exact Audio Copy which is a shareware
  2. Thank You very much, Robert. Please, see my e-mail
  3. Dear Guido, yes, I know that there is only one way of synchronization ans that's why I spoke about two ways of "synchronisation". But somebody new to PTE can easily imagin (as I did in the beginning) tha, by making choices in configuration of slides in main window, his slides are synchronized to music. I know " Dansing Skeleton" before knowing the Forum! I downloaded again: now I can not follow the images, it's too fast
  4. Hi to all My new show, THE MARKS OF TIME is on line ( see PTE Presentations) As I’ve a new question for Igor, I prefer to give here the details I promised. Here is why I used 139/158 transparent gif as object of 1white pixel picture, white background: IPEG at 70% = 345 Kb Transparent GIF (alpha Channel) = 60 Kb 345 Ko x 139 = 47955 60 Ko x 139 = 8340 SAVED 39615 Kb In this show even the frames are transparent gif (alpha channel) Normal Ipg at 70% 273 Kb Framed Ipg 288 Kb Transparent Gif FRAME 3 Kb 273 Ko + 3 Ko = 276 Kb 288 Ko – 276 Ko = 12 Kb 12 Ko x 158 = SAVED 1896 Kb Actually I can not say how many Kb I saved: the difference between an Ipeg and a Tr. Gif is depending on the picture. Anyway, the Gifs’ characteristic to be generally lighter than Ipeg is not the most important one: what’s important are the possibilities of composition they offer. In the title page of the show there are three different elements completely merged and that was possible only with Tr. Gifs. Certainly you remember that Igor himself invited us to exploit them and he sent two small examples. QUESTION TO IGOR This show was prepared with my old computer (Win 98SE – 500Mz – 128Mb Ram) and it was not synched as I could see nothing in the time line. Almost the pictures had 0/1 as duration and the show ran just as you can see now that it’s synched. When I tried with my new computer after the crashing of the old one, at the end there was MORE THAN 2 MINUTES DIFFERENCE between the slides and music!!! (and my new computer is not a very fast one: P IV – 2,8 Ghz – 512 Mb ram). My question is: what reason have two different ways of “synchronization” when the result can be very catastrophic? I do not speak for me: Now I exactly know the problem I’ve completely killed in my mind the “configuration of slides in main page. But what about a professional who has just bought PTE, he goes into configuration of slide where he sees “duration of slide” and “duration of effect”; he is happy (that’s what happened to me, in the beginning) and he makes the show for his client with big attention for music to have a good impact on him; and because of a difference between computers (quite common) the effect is lost, the client is not happy because he can not see the pictures as expected, he does not buy the show and everybody is unhappy? If I remember well this problem was put out time ago by ThinkBox too Anyway, PTE is becoming more and more “professional” and IMMO I think the “synchronization” in configuration of slides as it is now, has no more reason to exist, but maybe I’m wrong! Maybe you like my show, maybe you do not: it’s not the problem. For sure, if I had nod lost twice the project and if my old computer had not failed, most of you would have seen something resembling to a spinning top more than to a show
  5. My new show THE MARKS OF TIME is on line and you can download here Actually I’ve prepared two shows: I like very much this show but behind the pretentious title of “the marks of Time” hide just pictures about rot of flowers and trees. And to have me forgiven for the low interest of these pictures I prepared a second show with more interesting ones (about a World Heritage). This second show will be put on line as soon as I have an extension to my web space. About the details I promised to Robert (Lumenlux), you’ll find them in his topic EXAMPLE OF REQUESTED FEATURE
  6. Robert I thank you very much for your interest. It's very nice from you. The whole show will be on line next week. For now, as my old computer completely failed and I had to buy a new one, I'm still busy with installing all my programs. Anyway I've to say that , visually, a part for a special effect and two minor effects, there is no difference between a normal Ipeg and a transparent gif (alpha channel), but transparent gif are lighter, and I think I saved about 6 Mb. I'll give some details in the "reed me" text.
  7. …and try to imagine, Igor, how difficult it is when you have 120/140 transparent gifs as object of 1 white pixel picture ! That’s why I add my prayer to Michel’s one (and Al’s who already has asked for the possibility to see objects in the light table).
  8. Hi Duncan, maybe I'm missingf something , but if I've well understood , you do not neet transparent gif. I'd put the first slide as an object of a 1 pixel Ipg (you make it in your graphic editor). then copy this slide and paste as many times you need and put the small pictures as objects. I remeber you that only a few object's positions can be fixed on PTE. So, to be sure others will see exactely what you did, you have to inform them about the best configuration ; 800x600; 1024x760; etc.
  9. Welcome to the forum, Duncan Transparent Gif have to be added as "object"
  10. Igor, on my computer, the problem still exists with the .exe file
  11. Igor, both improvements work well on my computer . Thank You
  12. Phill, I’m quite surprised because both utilities have been well tested. I’m afraid I can not help you as I’m not very expert, and Granot (Boxig) is on holydays and I think he will be back during next month. Anyway Ken’s and Al’s suggestions are to be followed. Did you? C:/doc..../....////...///....temp/MMBPlayer sounds strange to me I think you must have C:/Temp/ yourshow.exe I’ll download TempCD and make new test: I’ll let you know by e-mail
  13. Wellcome, Phill To avoid this kind of problem, Granot (Boxig) has prepared two utilities ( TempCD and MultiCD) which automatically copy the exe file from CD to a Temp folder in the HD and erase it when the program is closed. TempCd is for a single .exe and I think that's what you need. You can download it from Granot's siteWebpage This utility is a donationware.
  14. Aqri, Welcome to the forum. Click on OPTIONS of Main Window ( Maybe you have Installningar ?) Then click on Sprak (Languages and then choos Netherlands) Hope it works

Granot, Thank you. Anyway, I can work. Ken Yes, my virus check is running in the background, but it was before too.

Thank you, Al It was hard to delete the shortcut but new one lets me open PTE though with a long opening time. (10’’- 15 ‘’)

Thank You , Ken I'm running under Win 98 SE. No big changes: now I can open also from Start/Programs/PTE; but not from shortcut. Not a big problem: I can work. I'll try a defragmantation of HD on next days: first I've to copy to CD a few Gb og pictures and eraze them from my PC.
  18. cici

    lost

Thank You Jim, I don't think it was the reason: file was saved at the same place. After uninstalling and downloading and installing again, I got last version but i can open it only from a project.
  19. cici

    lost

Hi to all I'm lost! I uninstalled my PTE to solve a little problem but when I install it again (download from the forum) I get v4.14 !!. What am I missing? thank you
  20. Igor, The problem is actual but it’s visible only at the end with very long fade. I’ve some long fade in the middle of the show strongly tied to music and when viewing after adding Fast and SmootFade, I don’t notice any important difference with only FastFafde version. Anyway, I don’t notice any disturb. But I had to add a few seconds to last fade transition (a 18’’ transition from slide to black) to have the full black appearing just at the end of music. Anyway, if there is a problem, this will concern only a show which is still a project. I presume that previous shows are exe files and I wonder how many of us will have their old shows remade with last PTE version. But problem is actually actual.
  21. I added both and all is OK . I can see a liitle improvement about push transitions Thank You
  22. I'm sorry, but I have better results with opt_FastFade=1 !!!
  23. and of course, bravissmo and thank you to Aleksey too
