My show: 257 pictures 250 – 300 kb , sometimes even more ( one 680 Kb picture just following a 480 Kb one, because I…forgot to compress) Almost 3’’ fade transitions Resolution 1024 x 768 My computer is not a so fast one: Win 98 SE Pentium III 128 Mb Ram 500Mhz ALL FADE TRANSITIONS ARE P E R F E C T Improvement about Push transition is visible too, but they still need long times. IMHO anyway I think that is important to go on all requested improvements about this transitions: coupled to Transparent Gifs we can do very, very interesting things

Igor, Improvement very visible : I had problems with some fades when viewing a big show at 1024 x 768 and now all is perfect. I’ll wait patiently for push improvements: I too think that without the possibility to maintain the background picture, this effect is loosing an important part of its interest

Ralph thank you for the screen shots. What yous see is just what I see. What you see in PS or Elements is quite normal: these transparent gifs don't work with them, and I don't know any software they work with. But they work as objects in PTE. Do you see the same image when disconnected from Internet?

Hi to all I’ve a problem with black transparent gif: as objects in PTE (projects as well as exe) almost the time I can not see them. This happens when connected to Internet; when disconnected, generally I can see them. I insist on ‘’generally’’: it has happened that though connected to Internet, I could see them and vice versa. I’ve been trying to understand why for a long time without any result. I need your help. Is it a bug or just problem of my machine and why? You can download herea zip file consisting of an original gif and an exe file: one white pixel picture, white background + 2 gifs as objects. If you see the word ‘’fin’ and the black silhouette of a boat: all is OK; if you see the word ‘’fin’’ and a frame with some green points, you’re experiencing a problem too. Hi to all Here are my last results after uninstalling/installing my CD-R software and updating my Win Media Player: AVI files from PTE beta 2 are recognized by different AVI-MPG encoders. Best results with TEMPGenc Plus. I still have only sound on preview but I could encode and bur a SVCD with Ulead (exe file 71 Mb ; about 5 hours encoding: fast burning) . My TV-DVD-R player recognized the SVCD but quality was very poor and after a few minutes it stopped playing. As soon as possible I’ll try encoding the whole exe with TEMPGen Plus and burn to SVCD the new Mpeg2. I’ll let you know the results but I think they will be good. But…

Hi Truelight, I think you are right. Almost if I connect my AVI problem to other secondary problems, there is just one conclusion: my PIII Win 98 SE 500Mhz isn’t fast enough for what I’m doing now! And I don’t see any special reason for having only music when I check for preview or for not working at all in Ulead. Anyway, after new testing I’ve to say that for me too Beta 2 is better working: I can encode PTE AVI files to MPG with the same software than you: AVI to MPEG Converter, but my SVCD wasn’t accepted by my DVD player. I’ll pray Santa.

MORE DETAILS I uninstalled and installed PTE. I made a short show : problem is still there: only sound in preview. Impossible to work with Ulead DVD Movie Factory, and when working with any AVI to MPG converter I obtain this message: ACCESS VIOLATION AT ADDRESS 018825BF in module PTEVIDEO.DLL’ Write of address 00561000

Hi to all My AVI files are not recognized! I’ve spent many hours trying with different AVI converter downloaded from the net: no success. When I asked for Preview I only had sound on Windows Media Player (9) , but at the end of preview my computer always blocked and not every time CTRL+DELETE helped. All this was during the night. This morning, checking for preview, I’ve nothing in my player!!! My show is 71 Mb, synchronized , prepared, of course, with previous PTE version. I’m running under WIN 98 SE – Pentium III – 500 Mhz – 128 Mb Ram Need help

Igor, I’ve just finished a big show about my region and was going to burn a few CD to send to some authorities. In my heart I was regretting that I hadn’t the possibility to burn DVD and was hoping to have it soon when I went to FORUM and…. I couldn’t receive a more beautiful gift! Hi bbdigital, I did this way with a SYNC Mode show: I made a new slideshow with last slide and buttons. I checked on this show “when show ends keep last slide in show on screen”. I gave it “cut” transition.. In my principal show I checked “close show after last slide” and “ Run external application “. (External Application is, of course, the show with buttons. It works

Peggy, welcome to the forum. Wav files are too big for PicturesToExe. You have to compress your wav to MP3. Your problem can also come from the size of your pictures: PTE preferes files about 100 - 200 Kb (MPEG). Try first to compress music to MP3. If problem is still there, let us know more details about pictures, and you computer. Hope this will help. I'm not an expert , but other members will give you more help, if necessary

Hi Al congratulations for your tutorial. I don’t ask you how long it took to you, for sure you don’t know yourself. But I understand that it needed many and many hours and only love for what you were doing led you to the end of your work.

Hi Al, It isn't a synchronized show. There is no music. I'm making tests with only pictutres.

CUSTOMIZE SLIDE WITH OBJECT In a test show with pictures and a set of 1 pixel pictures + objects (transparent GIF), if I want customize in the main window these objects, I’m obliged to save separately the display time and transition effect/duration. If I do all the changes and then click “OK” , only transition effect/duration are saved. ! No problems if I want: - customize normal pictures - customize objects in the time line, after adding music - customize objects in a test show made with only 1 pixel pictures + transparent GIF What am I missing?
