Jeff see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivX_Media_Fo...ormat_.28DMF.29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xvid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mp4 it gets complicated -- it has been a war between the original developer and and the big boys - -sony, hollywood etc some dvd players will play divx files as is -- they do not have to be be encoded to the dvd format and IMHO quality is great -- a full length movie in divx format is +- 700 to 1000 mb when the same file goes thru the dvd encoding process it becomes +- 4.3 gb ken

USE THE ZIP COMMAND file/create backup in zip that puts all of parts being used in the zip - transfer the zip to your laptop -- i guess you already have the pte program on the laptop to avoid confusion, i would suggest you rename the zip before you transfer it back to your main system ken -
LARRY will add a bit more soup to the mix - most people feel that they own a program or whatever when they buy it -- when they read the real fine print -- you actually just bought the right to use it -- some companies allow you to make 1 backup disk for your own use I found out last week that midi files are copyrighted likely have misquoted something but people should get the drift as to what we are saying ken

THE THING THAT GETS PEOPLE IN TROUBLE - is the use of copyright music does not matter that you bought music it must be royalty free music also you must own the picts ken

IMHO I think people are trying to reach a broader audience by using vimeo/youtube services I grabbed the flv and played it with adobe player and had full control of the playback -- not like an exe where most authors dont want one to study their work ken
