  1. Wondering if other Mac users have been testing v8 slideshows? I think Mavericks will be released soon (today?) and I want to make sure v8 slideshows are compatible. I will try to test as soon as possible before the v8 beta is over.

    Update:

Free upgrade for all Mac users. Available today.5.29 GB. Downloading now.

  2. Left machine off for another hour, when I switched on it booted to a black screen with my desktop icons & the attached messages asking for product code verification. So I typed in the code & took the attached screen JPEGS. The message in the previous post disappeared but remained black with icons, so I activated my usual blue windows 7 back ground. I've had one message saying windows explorer wasn't responding??? unsure.gif/> unsure.gif/> unsure.gif/> which I ignored, edited the JPEGS and came on here??? unsure.gif/> unsure.gif/> unsure.gif/>

Sounds like you might be having hard drive problems (file corruption). Did you do a scandisk and defrag?

I usually just right click on drive letter, select Properties, Tools.

Also if you want to run a memory diagnostic Microsoft has one you can download for free.

Format and reinstalling Windows is a good idea, but a lot of work. I think I would buy a new PC if my budget allowed.

  3. Eric,Some viruses are very good at hiding. If you continue to have problems you might want to boot from an Avira rescue CD. It boots from your optical drive and loads a Linux kernel. I have found a few viruses that regular AV software did not find.

My desktop PCs usually last about 3 years. Not because parts wear out but because the applications require more resources. I rarely upgrade components except more ram and larger hard drives.

I like the specs of your PC. I was curious about your hard drive choices. Your second drive is "only" 500 GB. The price difference between 500 GB and 1 TB is probably a very small amount.

4. YouTube allows you to add a description and tags to your slideshows to improve page ranking. You can even add hypertext download links to Windows and Mac executable slideshows so people that are interested in viewing at the highest quality can download the file. They will receive a redirect warning but it works. I use dropbox but there are many other file sharing options. You can do this inside PTE during the upload process (thanks Igor!) or after the video is uploaded you can edit the metadata.

  5. Purchased a couple of these small hdmi devices. According to reviews it should be possible to play most MP4 files directly from Chrome and send to Chromecast device (not over internet). I will test with PTE created MP4 files when devices arrive.

The other new device is a Nexus 7 tablet. I am waiting for new Nexus 10 with 8 core cpu + 6 core gpu. Also new Android 4.3 has Open GL ES 3 3D graphics with 32 bits/pixel (if display supports).

  6. Created in 7.5.10. Probably something I am doing wrong and a not a PTE error. smile.gif

When I try to add child shadow rectangle to parent image rotating in 3D there is a white line in during the middle of rotation. It's hard to explain but I think the slideshow and screen capture will explain. Happens in both vertical and horizontal directions. Obvious in the horizontal rotation (slide 4).

I want to create a set of transitions based on basic origami folding but I need to solve this problem first.

    Thanks,

    Tom
