Eric: Again I might be missing something but your explanation helps Without trying it myself, here is what I would likely try You would have three .exe files (I know you don't want three but work with me on it ) 1. Slide show "L" This would be set to leave last (only) image on the screen at the end of the show. I believe you already have this show. It is a one image show on which there are two buttons to Launch: 2. Slide show A, images 2-30 3. Slide show B, images 31-48 Why not set both shows A & B to leave the last image up on the screen when finished and make the last image of show A, image #2, and the last image of Show B , image #31. You would then AUTORUN slide show L, the client would choose which button to click on A or B. Depending which one they choose, A or B runs. At the end of the show they would then hit ESC and would be taken back to Show L, from which they could choose the other show if they wanted. You might want to put an EXIT button show L so they don't need to hit ESC Again, there might well be easier/other ways to do what you want.

Eric: Do you want to do it only on the first pass or on every pass ? I assume on every pass. One way I thought of quickly (an Object editor won't work as it has to be clicked on and therefoe is not automatic) is to simply duplicate that part of the show when you hit slide 30. But I suspect I am missing something here

Doug: Further to comments already offered, so long as the .exe files are in the root of the CD, I would expect it to be found. Many of us use a "launch" show (a single image show with the other shows being linked via an OBJECT - button or picture) The "Launch show" sould be the auto started .exe file and then your viewer simply clicks on whichever OBJECT to start the desired show. I have never had a problem using this technique. (YET that is...... )

Rick: I use daisy chaining a fair bit and while previewing I get the momentary view of the desktop at times, or even just a flicker of the mouse on a black screen, but when they are shown from the .exe file at the REAL presentation, I have never had a problem. I suually try to leave a .25 second black screen at the end of the first show and the start of the second show (and ditto if more are being daisy chained.)

I checked. She does not have the français version. All the entries in the dropdown box are in English. Her PC has the same version installed on it, and it reads correctly. Just an oddity I guess !!

I assume that MicroSoft's new colour control, available here will not help us make PTE a colour managed software. Is there a way that Igor can make it happen ? Some people usually work in Adobe RGB and for best viewing results change the files used in their shows to sRGB.

Carol: Lin is quite correct. You can't do it from the exe file. But that is why you should keep a copy of the images and latest .pte file well backed up. When I finish a show I create a TEMPLATE (as has been explained before in other threads) which creates a folder with the .pte, the image files used and the sound file PS: Found a reference for you Carol click here

Jan By "beamer" do you mean digital projector ?? And do you mean that the projector is 1024x768 ? If that is the case, my laptop is 1280x800 native (but will go to 2048x1536) and my projector is 1024x768 When using the projector I re-size the laptop to 1024x768 and it projects fine (looks skewed on the laptop screen, but fine on the projected screen)

Hopefully I have not missed a previous forum discussion on this.... Last night while teaching PTE at our Camera Club, one student's computer showed "MODE" rather than "TIMED POINTS" as a button on the TIMELINE screen. The choices within MODE were the same as TIMED POINTS. If there are two versions of 4.43 (which I doubt), I hope there are no other differences.

Louise: Did you synchronize the music with the images using the TIMELINE, if not how did you insert the music vis-a-vis the images ?

Jeff: I do these type of multi-presentation many times. So long as the .exe files are in the root of the CD along with the master show exe file everything works fine for me.

Gary: The most likely cause is that both computers could not read the data off the plug in drive quickly enough to keep up with the show. USB2 is a faster "connection", but there are many other variables inside the computer that can make differences

Bill: Welcome to PTE Sorry the answer is that you will have to prepare the music to length in a sound editing software such as AUDACITY (free) and then bring it into PTE See guido's site here for info re sound editors

Garnot: Take a look at Birds of Petrie Island on Beechbrook on page two here Is that what you had in mind? There are controls built into the show. Pause/Break will pause it for you, plus you can back it and go forward with the arrow keys. That enables a discussion of the brds if you want. You could also do it via objects and have person guess bird's name, then click on the object for the bird's call.

tapeka I don't think you can do what you are trying to do, but you can "daisy-chain" your shows together. Set them to run one right after the other. In your first show, set PROJECT OPTIONS>ADVANCED>RUN APPLICATION AFTER LAST SLIDE to point to your second show, in your second show have it point to your third show etc Your first and last slides in the daisy-chained shows should generally be black and be of less than a half second duration. Unless your viewers look hard, they might not even even know they are watching multiple shows

Amy: PTE creates a .exe file that is the slideshow. If you are trying to create a DVD version, then you should read here

I have been using the template as my back-up files and I don't sem to be having the same results as Michel. When I have a .pt file of my show and I change the presentation, I go: FILE>TEMPLATE>CREATE TEMPLATE>say yes to the name>say yes to overwrite I get the new .pte file and any new images written into the .pt file. BUT what I also get, that I don't need, is that any images dropped from the slide show are still in the .pt file. I would just as soon have a clean version of the .pt file, which I can do by changing the .pt name, but I prefer to keep the .pt name lined up with the presentation name
