  1. I omitted to mention that, in the case of some "Set Top Box" decoders and their Media Players, I have found it necessary to take the TV Safe Zone into account and reduce the percentage of image to around 90%. In these cases the units act like (output like) DVD Players. DG
  2. A short one slide example might help us understand? DG
  3. For Information only: The two output Video versions that I have found to work so far are: MPEG4 (H.264 format) in the Creating HD Video for PC and MAC menu (Default 1920x1080 High Quality Setting). This works fine on suitably equipped modern TV sets with a built in Media Player. However, I have found that some TV "Set Top Box Decoders" with built in Media Players will only play AVI (.MPG) files. The setting that I have found that works well for this type of application is: Create DVD-Video Disc > Create MPEG2 Files The outputted Videos from PTE in these formats work well. DG
  4. In the midst of all this carnage and mayhem......For Maureen it's business as usual.Well done Maureen.DG
  5. Oops, Sorry: Landscapes 2.zip In fairness, a more professional looking result is possible using an external editor. But to answer your ORIGINAL question, yes it is possible within limits completely within PTE by using Masks. The size of a SHARP edged Mask in PTE (Pictures to EXE (Executable)) is not big enough to produce smooth results so a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) mask made in an external editor is advisable. DG
  6. Igor can you add the following to SETTINGS>PREFERENCES: Location to Save Temporary Files: Location to Save Backup in ZIP: Location of Templates Folder: They could be added to Peter's suggested FOLDERS TAB. DG
  7. Here's an example which was done completelyin PTE using Masks - no external editing. Landscape.zip DG P.S. The elongation of the OVAL mask would be solved by making the PNG Oval in an external editor. PNG File = Portable Network Graphics File.
  8. Can this one now be marked as SOLVED or DELIVERED . DG
  9. You could use a circular or oval mask to create something similar? DG
  10. On further reflection, a TOTAL WORKSPACE Set would be beneficial not only to the user but also to Igor as a Diagnostic Tool. Sometimes, just having a Project File to try to diagnose a problem is not enough. Igor needs to have the Project File in conjunction with the Total Workspace Set. DG
  11. Jill, I have used Templates from Day One. Try saving a Template with "Show File Tree" switched off. Switch File tree back on and Open the previously saved project. It doesn't open up with the File Tree switched off. My opinion is that a saved Total Workspace Set would be beneficial, not only to the user, but also to Igor as a diagnostic tool in conjunction with the Project File. How many times have we heard Igor say that he cannot duplicate the user's problem? This could, in some cases, such as the recent "Access Violation" problem, be due to the fact that the Project File is not the problem - it is the workspace. Having both the user's Workspace Set and his/her Project File would be a tremendous time saver for Igor. Just IMHO (in my honest opinion) - other opinions are available. DG P.S. In view of the recent post regarding abbreviations etc I thought that I had better explain IMHO. P.P.S - Peter, Re the misunderstanding - I thought that you were refering to MY post as being "off topic". Please don't use an English/Welsh Dictionary on my account. I would need to use a Welsh/English dictionary to understand what you were trying to say. Furthermore you could not reproduce the dialect.
  12. Yes Peter, I meant the TOTALITY of Preferences. I have posted a separate suggestion giving my reasons so as not to confuse your suggestion. DG
  13. Suggestion: The ability to save and load PREFERENCES SETS might be beneficial. I can envisage that different workspaces might be helpful for the Keep Full Slide Duration on and Keep Full slide Duration off options. The control for this is in the SYSTEM TAB. The options of Graphical, Video and Audio editors are in a different TAB as are the TOOLBAR options. It would therefore make more sense to me if the PREFERENCES SET could be saved and cover the whole gamut of controls. DG
  14. I fully endorse this proposal and would add a further suggestion: The ability to save multiple PREFERENCES sets might at some stage be beneficial. This could provide the user with choice of WORKSPACES. DG
  15. Thanks Igor, Got it. DG
  16. I haven't seen so many Active Users waiting for a long time . DG
  17. жестокое!! Microsoft translator. DG
  18. I have found it it to be simple to copy the file name from the Properties of the Video (since it is there anyway)? DG
  19. Yes!
  20. I continue to be surprised at the lack of interest in this thread? It provides most (if not all) of the requested gizmos that those who want to use video and be able to manipulate the soundtrack have cried out for. It is simple to use and provides access to the graphical envelope tool within PTE (and works). Most cameras come with (free) software capable of doing the required trimming of video and now we can perform the necessary fade in/fade out, momentary lowering of volume etc which has been requested. What's up? DG
  21. The odds are in your favour. DG
  22. Any musicians out there? PTE can be used as a aid to Teaching/Practise/Performance in a musical context. The linked EXE is an example which shows an aspect I have been exploring. If you play a "C" instrument you can use this EXE to have a little fun and put your reading skills to the test - nothing too difficult. If you play a Bb or Eb instrument and can transpose "on the fly" it will also be useful (and I take my hat off to you!). 5 minutes - 14Mb - 1920x1080. If you want to try it for yourself making an MPEG4 to play through your TV's Media Player is a good alternative to the EXE file. You can turn the volume up and entertain the family. Non-musicians might find this a little boring. Play it through to the end and then delete. DG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/70942558/Breaker.zip
  23. Is there a Father Christmas????? DG
